The 1974 Pittsburgh Steelers did draft 4 Hall of Famers.

I thought we drafted White too early but I also thought we were drafting him to implement him in a wildcat/slash/wr/qb role but we tried to make him into a drop back passer.....not sure what the front office was thinking there. Obviously this was a major failure, I liked White a lot in college and thought he could make plays in the NFL on the right team.

It's not where you get drafted that counts its what you do given the chance to be there.

I'll take a Brandon Marshall type for two of those second round draft picks some of you seem so hung up on!

Have Irish and Tuna made mistakes? Yes and that only proves they are human, like the rest of us!:tongue2:

So we messed up on another QB, round two, and a WR round three but got two UDFA WR's that have a chance to shine. I'll take that any day of the week and twice on Sunday and chuckle while remembering all the talk on this board about just how bad our WR corp was!

Maybe, but they also wanted our team to take Brady Quinn and look where he is now.

One thing stands out atleast defensively.
Kendell Langford played in the 3-4 in college BCC and hes sticking.

Phillip Merling played in the 4-3 at Clemson and J.D. Folsom played at Weber State. I think Weber State runs a 4-3 but I'm unsure.

    Chicken Littles.

The first four picks of a draft are "valuable". With a total of 8 picks in the top of the first 2 drafts, the FO bagged 5 starters. Those starters happen to be a LT, QB, DE & 2 CBs. If that upsets you, then the problem is with you and not the FO. We "missed" on a bunch of 6 & 7 round players, which isn't really a miss at all, considering the odds of a player that deep sticking is way lower.

And not only that, but they've done it all with maintaining the salary cap.

I was against this front office initially and made quite the fool of myself on these boards stating my case. I was wrong. But if you aren't happy with what they've done...I suspect nothing makes you happy.
