When you're only clearing about $1.75 million from your rookie contract, it's probably not the wisest decision to spend 50k on an earring <especially when it's not for a chick>. Just sayin. It's not a shocker that 75% of the players are broke within 3-5 years of retirement..... which means, Kendall, there's a 75% probability that you were technically only renting the ring until you sold it at a loss to save your house. Dont shoot the messenger.
I wonder how many people who have read this article, are now flocking to the fields for a $50,000 treasure hunt?
Personally...... I don't care whose ear it's going into, b/c if I'm spending 50k on a diamond, then I better be getting some p***y from it.
50 K from 1.75 million is nothing. As long as he didn't blow the rest. If he has 800k banked from his rookie deal after his house, cars, shopping and diamonds, the interest alone would cover that in a year. Not to mention he probably has insurance on those diamonds. If he doesn't have insurance he's just not that smart.
Blood diamond scene on the practice field yesterday. Time to call Encyclopedia Brown? BTW-Aqua Crush, where do you bank?
I can't complain about his purchase if diamonds are his thing. If I won a million one of my first purchases might be BMW M5
My girlfriend's cousin works in the diamond industry, and depending on when he bought, it should have appreciated nicely this year.
I can honestly say I've never lost an earring of any value. I'm pretty proud of that and I don't forsee doing it as I think earrings are pretty much for girls. Then again, I'm 43, so maybe it's a generational thing. I just can't think of something more silly than to lose 50K on a rock that was punched into your ear.
No offense, but if you're spending 50k out of 1.75 mill on an earring, then you're most likely spending a LOT more else where.... hence the the 75% rate. I think it's: for every dollar on bling, it's 2 dollars on shoes and rims. I read that some where.
or driving it onto the practice field? i could see him pull up on the line next to tuna's golf cart but i can't imagine he would leave it there to get dinged by henne's rocket arm.
eh, i'm a capitalist. people earn money, they can spend it on what they want. at first i was going to chide him for spending $50k on an earring, but if i had the money i'd want to spend $250k on an Aston Martin so who am i to judge?
Someone on the team should go buy a Cubic Zerconia (sp?) earring of the same size and rock it to practice.
