Im asking why Cameron shouldnt be fired,I dont want bad drafts as the reason stick to coaching only.

My major concern is the players dislike of him and the fact that they appear to sense he is in over his head.

When the team Captain(Jason Taylor) is basically saying he thinks you stink them Im listening to the players, you can fool the media but you cant fool players they know who can coach and who is just acting.

So go ahead and make your case for Cam Cameron remember no talk of bad drafts simply make you case on his coaching ability.

    I didn't think he was a good O.C. muchless a H.C.
He just doesn't have that "it" factor.
It's hard to explain, but it seems like he tries to be so smart,
that he ends up outsmarting hisself.

    Never gets in players faces?
    Offence game calling sucks?

There's being patient and then there's 0-16. Nobody would fault Wayne Huizenga for firing him after the first 0-16 season ever. The team is so bad I can't even see how they'll win any of the three remaining games. They were just blown out by a bad team and a mediocre team in back to back games.

-Because this team is just bad.
    -Because its his first year
-Because he was making an all-pro out of Brown before his injury
-Because for once it'd be nice to see how something pans out rather than cutting short yet another system we tried to build.
-Because We might not be able to hire anyone better.
-Because our offense, his specialty, has actually shown something.
-Because that defense, the whole reason we thought it was ok to hire an offensive coach in the first place, completely let us down this year.

if thats how you rate how someone is good or not then you dont deserve to have an opinion...lol....you guys have to realize that any coach would have done really bad nomatter who the coach was. our team was in such bad shape PLUS he had all the injuries to all the main players on our team. in my book he should get another year. granted a different coach (probably a vet) might have been able to win one of the close ones, but its his first year.

    It's not Cameron's fault.

He was making his own version of LT in Ronnie Brown, but that took a turn for the worst. Ginn, and Hagan are developing very nicely, and Lorenzo is showing signs of greatness already in the receiving aspect.

However, I'm still waiting for Cameron to turn Beck loose, which may happen at home against Cincy in the last game of the season. Just let it all hang out, and see what the kid has.

I guarantee that our draft will be all about defense, which is where we need the most help. Some players may retire, while others will be sent elsewhere, or cut.

There are going to be a lot of changes during the offseason, and I doubt that Cameron will be going anywhere.

You have to bring some new head coaching blood into the league and Cam is as good a prospect as there was out there at the time we were interviewing. I would not have been happy with some tired and multiple fired same old geezer. Wayne brought in Jimmy (who should be forever ripped for quitting on this team and starting this downfall) when that guy was the greatest coach out there. Wanny was a product of in house corporate style ascension, made sense at the time. Nick Saban was again, the top prospect in the land when Wayne snagged him. Cam will end up being a good head coach once the team is capable of winning. This team will make anybody look bad, it’s not the other way around. You notice Beck never wasted a time out because the play was not in there- sign of good communication right there from the coaching. The players just can’t execute. There’s like eleven starters not playing now. Cam is a rookie, give him another season and a healthy group of first string players before giving him the axe.

Like Wannstedt? This is the oddest point brought up by Dolphins fans. Is stability important to the success of an organization? Duh. Have the Dolphins really cut things short with the HCs? Absolutely not.

JJ was coerced into staying a year longer then he wanted. We kept Wanny around for TOO long in a position he didn't deserve in the first place. We showed enormous patience with him as the team spiraled downward. Saban left us. Wayne has never fired anyone. Patience is maybe his only virtue or one of his biggest flaws.

The coaches we've had have failed us, not the other way around. We fail because we've put our organization in the hands of people who are unworthy and illsuited to their roles. Cam certainly fits that description. I'm not really into suffering through another year of this generation's Kotite. Whatever positives you guys can scrounge up to defend him are buried under the weight of historic negatives.

Wayne Huezinga hired Cam Cameron for a reason. Cameron interviewed for several teams and was a hot candidate. He was hired here to turn this thing around. He's coached & built great Offenses with great RBs and some good Qbs.

He has HC experience. He played for Bobby Knight and was mentored by the great Bo Schembechler.

Let this play out. He's calm under pressure and it only seems the Vet players are the ones who dislike him. Nothing out of the ordinary for a re-building year. He can do it. Wayne H.and Co. believed in this guys ability when they hired him.

It's funny how everyone wants to fire the staff and clean house then they will be the same people who gripe when the team loses during a re-building year. Doesn't make sense!

Wannstedt had 5 years to turn it around.

If Wanny is as bad as you are suggesting, that's 5 years of damage and bad personnel moves to fix. Were not even giving Cam one year? Ridiculous.

Because Dom Capers runs the defense, and THAT is where the problems are.
People forget this is Dom's first year as the Dolphins defensive coordinator.

Now tell me, do you think the offense is having a problem scoring points with its starters, or does the defense have a problem stopping teams with its starters? Look to the league stats if you need help.

I want Cam fired. 13 losses in 13 games has proven to me what usually takes 2 or 3 years to learn, that Cam is not a good HC. He is a combined 18-50 as a head coach. But it is always the talent excuse to why he has failed, never something to do with

But, for Devil's advocate sake here would be the reasons to keep him for at least another season.

    ***Commence Devil's advocation.

Cam is a great offensive coordinator. Not a miracle worker, but he has proven he knows how to run an offense. I'm wary of giving him too much credit for getting 1st round picks to play like 1st round picks (Brown, Tomlinson, Rivers, Brees was 33rd overall) but in the case of Brees and Brown, they didn't live up to their potential until they were under Cam.

Cam's game time management should be better in his 2nd year. His clock management is correctable. He can learn from this year.

07 Draft class. The Dolphins have a whopping 20 1st and 2nd year players on their roster. One way to slow and possibly destroy their development would be to force them to restart with a whole new regime in 08. If Cam is fired, there is likely to be a house cleaning that wipes out most of the coaching staff schemes and playbooks.

The Dolphins biggest need in 07 is the same biggest need they have had since Marino retired, QB. John Beck is the first significant QB the Phins have selected since Marino. His chances of becoming the next great QB decrease with a new HC, and may be destroyed if a good OC isn't hired.

Though I don't agree with this myself, maybe the talent level is so bad on this team that no one could squeeze a win out of them, much less a rookie head coach who didn't arrive with instant credibility. Maybe the inmates are running the asylum and the perennial disappointment veterans on this team who have never shown great leadership skills in their time in Miami have finally hit rock bottom.

    ****End of Devil's advocation.

    Just fire the loser.

Wanny destroyed this team as the GM. It is too early to say if RanCam have made the personnel better since their first draft class hasn't matured yet.

Other than destroying the ability to attract and retain veterans, Cam's inability to coach his team to wins shouldn't have more than short term effects.

RanCam have already drafted more steady players in one draft than Wnny did in 5, so thats another reason right there.

You know we only had one losing season with Wannstedt. I mean the man was a moron in almost every way but he did seem to at least know how to put a decent team on the field every Sunday. Not saying i want him back but boy it'd be nice to go 10-6. 11-5 or whatever our records were when had him.

While I've questioned some individual moves (giving up anything for Green, overpaying for Porter) I have no big problem with them as GM team RanCam. Though it is too early to claim this draft class as a winner, regardless. And drafting more steady players than Wanny is no big feat.

I just think Cam has proven in his time here, and in his stint in Indiana that he is not a good HC. 18-50? If he could have pulled off one desperate win against Pitt in the rain, against the 1 win against anyone but the Dolphins Jets, or mediocre Buffalo, I'd say give him an extra year to right the ship.

But I am absolutely mystified by the argument that you fire Mueller and retain Cam.

You can't evaluate a GM as quickly as you can evaluate a coach.

I believe almost any coach would be an upgrade over Cam. Mueller may just be an average GM, I don't really know. But you'd still have to replace him with an above average GM in order to justify firing him after 1 year.

    well said...

    AND...
    - because all of our "star" players are pretty much on the injured reserve.
    - because you cant win games in this league without talented players. we just dont have enough of those actually starting for us anymore.

Only Cam would be winless,Saban or even Wanny would
have at least one win by now.
Please give me one sane reason, why Cam should stay.

Great points. I think the offensive improved more and performed better under Lineham's only year as OC - and everybody seems to think that only Cameron can possibly do anything with this offense.

I mean, what is really the big deal about canning Cam? Oh, No, the offensive will be set back and have to learn a new system next year!

I would rather the learning start next year so we're better in two years than to waste another year on a system that will be gone soon - and then starting from stratch in 2009.

Understand this is his first year and most of veterens who are not on-board will be departing BUT I still think he should be fired because

0-16 will be the worst record EVER in the NFL
No evidence of an offensive system in place, What is our offense supposed to be, a ball control, a passing offense?
Defense is a mess, again no system in place there.
    Terrible game decisions
Bill Bellecic will be the Patriots coach for a long time and Cam can't hold his jock strap

The Past: We're so lacking in talent and/or experience from failed drafts and free agency, it really hasn't taken much for opposing teams to find areas of weaknesses to attack, injuries made it easier and easier.

The Present: After a game plan's in place, the head coach really only has a few responsibilities. It's up to the OC and DC to implement the game plan...and there isn't a OC or DC who doesn't get second guessed by fans who'd probably crap their pants if they had to be an OC for a whole game, vs. screaming rants about a couple of plays that didn't work out. Cam's succeeded as an OC, and for those that want to point to the players he had in SD, well, we all know that we don't have those type of players here, so what kind of results were you expecting? We're like the first year Mike Martz led Lions offense without their skill position players and a veteran QB, and a defense that has trouble getting off the field.

The Future: Cam said it took 3 yrs for the Chargers to achieve a winning record...that's a road-map, I assume, he has for us, and Imo, it's worth going forward with, the alternative is starting over again next year...more than likely with a new system, and players to fit that system offensively and/or defensively...just more wasted time.
