Not that easy Dawg......Dakota Gassification already does this in the US...or at least tries...problem is in the acetone........producing Acetone gives you ALL KINDS of EPA trouble ...producing acetone also produces acetophenone and Phenol by one process or cumnene by another.........cannot inventory either and the biggest market driver for acetone and phenol is the construction industry and that by the way SUCKS........AND Acetone is VERY VERY ENERGY intensive especially from coal gassification................. DG uses coal gassification process which the EPA "ain't a big fan of" which also produces phenol....and coal production is not exactly high on this administrations list of developing industries and the tree hugger issues will gio from "natural fuels" to "Do not strip our resources". Butanol is one of the other ingredients andf butanol is not any mnore environmentally friendly than coal gassified acetone................. People will LOVE this idea until they actualkly understand it............btw this is old old old old technology....................................not really new unless there is something that has been devloped past what I know of and have read, including here.
Well this is a fairly new article, so they're either "regurgitating" old ideas, or maybe they have developed some new ideas/technologies. Oh, and I never said it was easy, I just try to find interesting articles, and post them, Weather or not they're feasible technologies, only time will tell. Also................. This group of scientists are going for a patent, so they must feel they have something worth-while to protect.
No issues Dawg, there are always new tweaks on old technologies but I personally just doubt the long term prognosis for this technology to significantly impact our same ole same ole energy situation....and thanks for the article .....these things interest me....thanks again.
Besides, if you have a flat you can keep yourself occupied..then the only thing gassed up would just be the Opal...
At double the price if same results happen with grain & whiskey as which occured with corn & ethanol.
