    *EDIT*

Give 'em another one! Hossa bangs it home...4-1 Pens!

and in a disturbing turn of events in Nashville... Hasek gives up two soft goals in about 30 seconds with 3 minutes to go in the 3rd... the wings bound to loose now.. 4-3 nashville... Im willing to bet this gives them enough momentum to take out the wings in the first round again... god... i HATE hasek... retire already... jeez...

And did it on the damn ice!

You sound like me...LOL! Avery is exactly the type of player that needs to be out of the damn league. The guy is a class A turd. In the past people like Kenny Linseman and Esa Tikkinen would yap and be dirty but had to actually "answer the bell" and be accountable at some point, the men in the room would not allow them to NOT answer the bell.

Players like Avery, Cooke, Tootoo and their ilk are not held accountable. I can't WAIT until the instigator is loosened so some of these guys get it fed to them...HARD.

Off topic: Dave Nonis was fired as the Canucks' general manager today...this town is on fire over the topic.

    Yeah, we see eye to eye once again, yawn. The last time I remember disagreeing with you is about Phil Kessel. I really liked him coming out of the draft, you not so much. The light hasn't gone on yet, although the circumstances haven't been the most welcoming. Milan Lucic picked about 45 spots later has looked okay though. (;

And I've adopted Phil as "my boy" on the Bruins message board...he gets WAY too much crap by some B's "fans". The guy is 20.

I think he's a victim of circumstance right now. Julien feels they need more jam in the line up and he won't sit Glen Murray in favour of Phil, something that he SHOULD do because Murray offers nothing. The thought of Savvy, Lucic and Kessel makes me quite excited.

The more I think about the future of this hockey club the happier I get.

    ****...

Carey Price is so good positionally. You could see he is in the Bruins heads that way. They know unless its perfect he sucks it up. In the last :30 they had it in the Habs' end and were passing it to get him out of position, passing up on 1 or 2 decent chances at shots.

Very good game though and the officiating was EXCELLENT, they let them play, no ticky tack regular season tapping penalties.

...and the more I think about it the more upset I'm getting...LOL!

Down 3-1 now in the series and they could be up 3-1 if they had a little more offense. I miss you Bergy.

Patrice Brisebois compared him today to Patrick Roy in '93. There was also a tidbit about how important trading Cristobal Huet was for Carey Price's confidence. That trade came out of left field, but from a psychological standpoint, it told Price you are the guy, we have faith in you, and we'll ride you as far as you can take us. In retrospect, between not mortgaging the future for Hossa, and trading away Huet, Bob Gainey earned his paycheck at the trade deadline.

Congrat, Pagan. The Pens really put the boots to the my Sens.
Watch for the mushroom cloud above Scotiabank Place in the little while.
Me thinks things might get blown up.
The first rumour I've heard, as per columnist Al Strachan, Jason Spezza and Ray Emery to Vancouver for Roberto Luongo.
I can't see the Canucks doing that, but Luongo does want out.
Unified, have you heard anything coming out of Vancouver. I'm not buying what Strachan is selling but I'd love to see it, as a Sens fan.

One more game. Rangers up 3-1 thanks to a big goal by Marc Staal with minutes remaining.

Impossible. Not only will the Sens buy out Emery, but there currently isn't anyone managing the Canucks since Nonis was fired a few days ago, and his replacement has yet to be named.

Luongo is not going anywhere. I like Strachan personally but a lot of times he throws **** at the wall to see what sticks. The Canucks are a lot closer then most people think. They are set on defense with 2 good young prospects there and they have a top 3 goalie. Add to that they have a checking/3rd line and a great 2nd line. They will spend their cap room on some scoring and make a push.

I don't think the Sens find a single buyer for Emery. Like Pinky said, they'll buy him out and rid themselves of the head ache. I dunno about blowing it up. They need a heart transplant though. Their defense, IMO, will be their undoing until they find a legit #1 guy. They can dangle Dany Heatley until June 1st when his no trade clause kicks in.

I think the Canucks will/could/should wait it out until Detroit is bounced and throw the farm at Kenny Holland. He's a BC guy and lives here in the off season. If that fails try and get Jim Nill from Detroit, their head scout.

BTW...the coronation for Carey Price and the Habs can be put on hold for another 2 days.

It was great to see Phil Kessel get of the mat and play so well tonight, I think Julien might have woken him up with that benching.

I'm really enjoying watching my Bruins become the hardest working team in hockey again. They are busting their ASSES out there, scratching and clawing for anything they can muster and I think they rattled Price tonight. If they can pop in the 1st goal on Saturday night it could be VERY interesting.

Ugh, im a sad man these days. Minnesota is just laying an egg right now. Gaborik can't even get a point in the series. They outplayed the Avs all game but little did they know the Avs built a brick wall in the form of Jose Theodore. Seriously this guy is killin it out there.

Yeah, I wasn't buying the Luongo thing either. Vancouver would be crazy to make that trade.
As far as dangling Heatley, there is far more talk around here about dangling Spezza. Not sure who I'd rather trade/keep.
But I agree this team does need and influx of heart.
After Alfredsson (Whose heart and character should NEVER be questioned again,) Mike Fisher, Chris Phillips and Anton Volchenkov, there's not much heart and character on this roster.

Ken Holland, and Jim Nill will probably never leave the Detroit organization. Its known as one of the best organizations in the league, and with one of the best owners to work for in the league in Mike Ilitch. Chances of either one of those guys leaving is very slim. At least not until the club feels that Yzerman is ready to take on more of a role in the front office.

I totally agree. That said, Holland is the type that might want a challenge, knowing he can leave the organization in good hands with Stevie Y and Jim Nill still there.

There are some odd names being chucked around out here. Mike Gillis, Brian Lawton, Neil Smith etc. I thought firing Nonis was a mistake to begin with, a kneejerk reaction from an owner who in 12 months of owning the team has already gotten the reputation as meddling. Now I think it could be a disaster. They won't get any of the top notch guys because none of them will want to work for a meddler. I think they'll get stuck with a retread (Neil Smith) or a greenhorn.

If a non-hockey fan watched that game 6 between Boston and Montreal I think they would be hooked on the sport. I've watched a ton of hockey in my life, too much to count, that was one of the best 5 games I've ever seen.

I can't believe my Bruins. Even IF they don't win the series they are back and relevant. The youth is carrying the team and Zdeno Chara is a horse and playing hurt.

Congrats Uni. Game certainly lived up to its billing.

    - The Bruins won the battle along the boards. They're also sending two men in the offensive zone, while the Habs are forechecking with one man most of the time. Edit: And yeah, Zdeno Chara is a horse. Try getting him off the puck. Damn.

    - Julien is outcoaching Carbonneau. After the shellacking in game 1, he went back to the drawing board, and the Bruins haven't looked back since. Benching Kessel also sent a message. He's boss, and that's that. He also reminded me tonight why I was so high on him before the draft.

    - The Habs need to get their PP going. That was a big reason for their success, but they haven't had any success yet, in part because, apparently, Markov is playing injured. Still, they need to get their act together.

They took it to the Ducks in the third period, went to net, and it paid off! 4-2 series win.

There's gonna be new champions. :hi5::up:

Bruins came out flat and stayed flat for last nights game, so many opportunities to score but couldn't execute and IMO had more to do with Boston taking lousy shots and not being creative then it had to do with Carey Price. Good season Bruins you surprised everyone.
