In the 08 draft what do you fin fans suggest!!! I always said BPA.....The perfect team is built through the draft!! There alot of talent in this years draft!!! Id love to get McFadden but i wont rule out a trade either!!! Like I said DOrsey is a great talent but his kneees concern me!!! Ronnie Brown is a tremendous threat but guys face the facts.....he hasnt been healthy in 3 seasons!!! I think we can go BPA sign Quality free agents not Quantity and build this team in the drafts!!! We are 3 years from contending from a playoff spot!!! we neeed 3 drafts to get this team together and young quality free agents!!I think Oline should be addressed in free agency... Part 2>>>>> Shaun Rogers and Roy Williams are not happy with their teams!!! They want out!!! Id love to get big fat Rogers in Miami!! HEd clog that middle for years to come!! Send JT their way!!! Part3<<<<<<<<<< Free agency.... Miami will be 30 million under cap!!! 3 quality players would be CB- marcus Trufant LG- Alan Faneca DE- Justin Smith Show these guys the money!!! Their solid in their positions!!! Id also get WR Bryant Johnson.....he wont command that much salary!!! And build the team in the draft!! We could be a 7-9 team in 08 with a solid draft and goood via free agency... and we can be set for the future
The team is going BPA. Of course, it's BPA according to the team's draft board, not anyone else's. So if, say, Mel Kiper ranks Darren McFadden the clear-cut #1, but the team drafts Vernon Gholston, we went BPA. Just not everyone else's BPA.
FAce the facts Desides!!! Ronnie brown could have a short career!! Due to lack of injuries!!! Pro scouts are saying McFadden is the best runner to ocme out and is compared to Tomlinson and a little of Steven jackson!!! Id take that in a heartbeat
I highly doubt we sign any of those guys with maybe the exception of Bryant. They probably wouldn't want to play in Miami anyway. We're rebuilding and need to do it through the draft. I expect us to sign a lot of cheaper guys to fill holes while our youth progresses.
I want McFadden simply because we have been devastated at RB this year. I don't want to risk Ronnie not being the same and passing up on a sure thing. If Brown comes back strong imagine what we can do with both of these guys in the backfield? THUNDER AND LIGHTNING!
i say they will draft a mixture of need and BPA. and it would be best player available according to THEIR top draft prospects not all these on the net.
McFadden would solidfy the position and that can make Ronnie Brown trade bait!!! Mueller did it with Ricky Williams in new Orleans!!! I smelll DEJAVU
McFadden is in no way being hyped that high. McFadden's talent is about equal to Ronnie's. The player being hyped as the best since Tomlinson is and was Adrian Peterson. Here's reality for you: unless Ronnie Brown is traded, we will not be drafting Darren McFadden.
Exactly. People are getting way to into what Peterson did this year to win a few games for the vikes. They all think McFaddens gonna do that next year. And he wont. Why? Cause the team that drafts him wont have Steve Hutchinson, Bryant Mckinnie or Matt Burk. Besides, did anyone notice how many yards Peterson racked up this past weekend? He had 3 yards against the Niners. 3!!!
With Ronnie's injury, there is no trade that will give us equal value. If we start looking for trades for Ronnie [I hope not, draft Dorsey and keep Ronnie], look for teams to offer 2nd round picks for Ronnie Brown; IMO he's worth a 1st and conditional 3rd plus a good player, but no team is going to sell the bank on him just because of his injury. I think Ronnie stays, and if he doesn't come back healthy [I fully expect him to come back stronger than before], then we look into running backs in the 2009 draft [or perhaps we draft a running back with our 2nd/3rd selection this year for insurance]. But hey, Lorenzo Booker has looked pretty good the last game. That may keep our team from drafting a running back THIS SEASON.
I doubt McFadden will be a top 3 pick. If some posters were allowed to draft we would have 12 RB's and 9 QB's and little else. We cannot afford to trade or release Ronnie Brown and we cannot afford to spend $85 Million on two RB's. If we were as deep as the Patriots we could draft BPA, we have deep needs, if you look at the history or the draft, most early picks are needs. Our draft last year was based on need which is one reason it was so good. We need a strongside DE to take Kevin Carter's spot, a run stopping DT, a LB and a CB. And a OL on offense.
Another quality player is safety Kenny Phillips, any Hurricane fans can vouch for him. He would make an immediate impact, interceptions, pass breakups, solo tackles, his stats don't lie. Although we don't have a chance at him unless we trade down or he somehow slides into the second round.
Heading into the draft, Get McFadden, Colt Brennan and his Favorite target Rivers from HU. Defense,Defense,Defense,Defense and go after Offensive and Defensive Line in FA. Done!! Playoffs!! Respectability!!! Retirement!! Rejoice!!! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,then die.
Why does everyone want Colt Brennan? Him and John Beck are like the same guy. Beck played in a pass happy offense, produced great numbers and played great at BYU JUST LIKE BRENNAN at Hawaii. Im not saying Brennans bad, cause hes not. but i think him and Beck are pretty similar. Not to mention, Becks not a moron like Brennan.
I think it depends on who is in charge of the draft. If Parcell's actually takes over some responsibilities with the team, they may go BPA and take McFadden. If Mueller is still in charge of the draft, I have a feeling that he will go with defense, depending on the medical reports about RB's knee.
Haynesworth is playing for a big contract. When he gets it, he'll go right back to his mediocre, forehead-grating ways.
Needs that are filled with the BPA perhaps? I would love to grab 1 oline starter at least, a DT, and maybe a MLB/LB and a Safety later in the draft. If we draft an olineman who can start Day 1 like Satele, then our offense would be well on it's way to respectable, we would have bookends and a Center, we would only need Guards. Add in Ted Ginn and Ronnie and we would have a nice offense. We have to find someone to replace ZT, we need to do that this draft. We have 7 picks already, all the first of each round, we should net at least 4 starters from this draft, maybe more.
Than what, play him at CB???? Play him at NT???? Play him at LB???? Play Him at TE???? Play Him at WR??? Because that's what we need, not a RB
I have never been an advocate of drafting soley the BPA but rather drafting for need first. However, nearly every position we have is a need any more so therefore, I agree that BPA is the way to go. At least this next draft at least.
You're overstating the impact of his injury. He had a clean ACL tear with a 9-12 month recovery period after surgery, which happened in October. That puts him ready to go for training camp. Meanwhile, all GMs need to do is look at the film of what he did this year when his number was called. The lesson they'll come away with is that if you dedicate your offense to using Ronnie Brown, he will come through. Furthermore, he catches everything thrown his way and is often the best blocker on the field. His versatility is astounding, and that means his value increases. He's a better version of Brian Westbrook, and there isn't a team in the NFL that wouldn't want Brian Westbrook. I don't want to trade Ronnie. He's my favorite active NFL player. He's a monster who'll run through and over you with a smile on his face. But if a team offers us a bundle deal of a high draft pick and a skilled player, I would absolutely trade him and draft his replacement this year. (I would trade Ronnie for Detroit's first round pick and Roy Williams. Mike Martz would absolutely ***** and moan for that trade to happen simply because of Ronnie's ability to catch the ball.)
Considering Parcells does not know what he is doing when it comes to FA and the Draft, I would rather see Mueller do that job.
Oh yeah, he only built that horrible dallas cowboys team alongside jerry jones. Come on, Marion Barber, Julius Jones, Patrick Crayton, Demarcus Ware, hell, if not for Parcells im not sure Tony Romo's on that team. Don't tell me you think Jerry Jones is the reason the Cowboys are so talented right now? I'm pretty sure TO is the only guy Jones made sure he got.
The Cowboys have great scouting, and yes Jones (Hate him or not) does surround himself with very knowledgeble people, of which he really is not that bad himself. To actually see how good Parcells is in the draft, check out how many great players he took in NE, and NY.....heck there was one year he had 4 #1 draft picks 1 was horrible, 2 were injury prone, the 4th took forever to reach his potential... of being OK.
