    LOL,

I was having a good time yesterday in the game thread, havin some beers, doin some howlin, just havin a good ole time with my buds here....until I saw our stadium... and All the energy seemed to leave my body the moment it flashed on the screen...

I wonder if any of our players ever get that feeling?..

I think me and Mike Dee the CEO, have similar disdain for it {considering all the changes he seems to wanna make, and is making, which I love him for}....his comments were freakin hilarious and to the point, something to the degree of, "we cant wait to get the marlins out of here"..

Most of you know how bad I hate it, but that hate has gone to another level...

Iam not gonna spin this too much, because I believe we just should of lined up and smashed the ball down their throats in that crap, but we didn't, we wanted to throw some passes out of 5 inches of mud just to get some timing down... wrong move.

I didn't see anything wrong with Henne...He took something off that deep slant to Marshall, and justly, put some mustard on the quick one...both dropped, both easy catches if executed with the body in those type of elements....I believe that the art of the body catch can come in handy in inclement slippery condition's..

Completely not worried about it, or him..

I wrote before the game that I wanted to watch 4 players the most...Clemon's, Odrick, Misi, Jerry, I also mentioned that I had been watching some combine tape of Odrick and Misi, and said that I believed we were really gonna be happy with both.....Their football kinesiology is outstanding. Odrick, Misi flashed that true football movement in the game..

LOL, Crowder is gonna use that boy Misi up I tell ya...

    Jerry looked balanced and strong..

We got 3 legit rookie starters ladies and gent's..

Starks and Solai on the field together in a 43, I think with his emergence, he will force the hand somewhat to that formation...I just don't think having one of the four on the bench is putting your best players on the field...A line of Odrick..Starks..Solai..Langford is quite impenatrable no? {is there a line with four 300 pounders in the league}..like to get some thoughts about that?

I wonder how hard Karlos hits the weight's....

I don't recall any bad throw's By Thigpen, his arm seems lively to me, and I feel comfortable that he could win games.....another interesting situation. If this coaching staff wants to keep Penny for Henne, than bottom line, Thigpen is too good for third string, and Iam sure he feels the same...Either Penny or Thig will not be on this roster come regular season imo.

I get so frustrated and confused knowing that our team is known for their work ethic and practice habit's, but than seeing sloppy play..I listened to Henne and Coach say there should be no excuses, that they can and will player better, but I find myself asking that question, what was the reason you did'nt if you work so much harder than everyone else, and your so diciplined..

I will not fall into the trap that I did last year....After the buc game in the regular season last year, I wrote that there was something wrong with this team's makeup....eventually it came out...the words unemotional and flat to start games were not only used by me in that thread, but from some of the leaders of our team after the season..

Please do not take that as a knee jerk reaction to a sloppy preseason game, all iam saying is, the data we have from last year is exactly that..

.hmmmmm, maybe the Sun " "you take the life out of me" stadium" is the culprit...lol

I will take Micah Johnson as a true backup middle linebacker on my team. doesn't it feel like we haven't had that type of player in a long time, hopefully he's got some london fletcher in him....

Cammy looks like he's lost weight...anyone else notice that?

Ive been talking up Tony Mcdaniel lately after watching some tape from last year...This guy can play football at a high level, another backup 300 pounder that can rush the passer, very good explosion off the snap, alway's on his feet for a guy 6'7, trajects that huge body with good angles and leverage...somebody is gonna sign this guy to a contract next year. still a 25 year old player..What a sign by Irish..

Speaking of the lad, with Grove not asserting himself like a 30 million dollar player should, this mid level 25 million dollar free agent signing thing is a major weakness in his repertoire, eventually its gonna show..

Maybe a question for someone who has rewatched the game? on the Smith INT, Did Clemons come up to take the deep slant away from the receiver knowing he had protection from Sean Deep?

    Ted Ginn...0 catches, 1 kick return 17 yards..1 punt return 11 yards.

Just an awful game to get any type of projection on, but I will say that regardless of the conditions, the individual battles seemed to be pretty even, which isn't a compliment considering the opponent, and when you have expectations.

I got over this game very quickly last night, shook it off, and had some fun..still got it Mr.C,TP..:wink2:

The good news is that, our rookies looked real good baby, and those additions are crucial to our team, we know what we got elsewhere..

Deej...yeah, Clemons actually forced the QB to throw the ball where he did. The play was supposed to go inside, but with Clemons there, he had to move it outside where Smith was waiting...either that or he missed that throw really, really badly...I mean by 10 feet....

I laughed about the Ross or Dee (i actually forget which one it was) interview in the booth. "Yeah, we can't wait until the Marlins move into their own stadium..." Well duuuuuuuhhhh.... Do something about it....that infield situation is totally unacceptable by the ownership.... Instead of getting Fergy and J Lo to shake their azzes for the fans, do something constructive and fix that infield situation...

Someone else brought this up and it made sense, given the condition of that muck, probably some of the guys like Dansby, Marshall, Starks that didn't exactly set the world on fire did so to prevent some injury in a meaningless preseason game ??? Just food for thought...

According to some posters on the board, Clemons was at fault. He shouldn't have came up on the slant and stayed with the vertical route. I dont agree with that as I think he made the right read and causing Johnson to make a terrible decision.

I was disappointed till I realized there was a down pour. But they did seem to get some back after awhile. But pretty unhappy with the turn out. We didnt give em much reason to stay. Im thinking The NFL is out pricing people right now, so many dont wanna pay for preseason so they give so many tickets away or on the cheap. So many entertainment options available that preseason is just not worthwhile in the rain. imo

EDIT: I agree we should have got them rb reps done in the first 5 minutes in those conditions . Edit x2 IF we really were smart and were Gonna diss white with last minute handoffs he could have played the 1st qtr and fed the wolves all day.

Sun Life stadium is an embarrassment to the Miami Dolphins and the NFL until they get the sucko Marlins out of there. Then they need to put in seats closer to the field, get some noise in that place.

The Marlins ought to be forced to play in one of the spring training stadiums next season, they wouldn't fill any of those often anyway.

Last night was not a game that made me feel good about much of anything.

Those sucko Marlins have won two more championships on that field than the Dolphins. I love both teams, and it's an absolutely rediculous idea to blame the field, anyone who does has probably never actually played organzised football.

Largely imaginary. The infield dirt never stopped the visiting team.

The anti-Marlins crap has got to stop. The Dolphins have not sucked this decade because of the Marlins' existence.

Deside's, please dont take what I said out of context, I really dont give a crap about the dirt, because I do realize that it goes both way's...like I said, we should of just ran it down their throats on that crap and take advantage of it, protect the players, and find a rhythm at another time...

No, not at all, I blame the owners for allowing this. I don't care that J Lo and Fergy shake their azzes around as part owners...I do care that they continue to allow that field to potentially hurt players....ours and the opposing teams. The Marlins have won two championships, yes. But they don't play the same game, in fact in weather like that, they'd have stopped the game... Again, it's not about the teams, it's about the ownership being irresponsible, IMHO....

On second thought, Fergy or J Lo can shake their things for me anytime....but, I digress !!

Anyone that goes fishing knows this! If you leave out the worm can or minnow bucket in the sun you get nasty dinner. I really question the latest plans on that stadium

I also wonder where they can put air conditioning inside for fans? Is that even part of the plan? I heard Dallas cooled the old stadium so I know its possible, but that stadium was designed with a dome, Miami's never was.

I say hold it for five more yrs and win a championship or two and build new

New ownership wants the Marlins out though.

The infield is the ONLY draw back about the stadium. The rest are minor issues....

DJ, I kinda wonder about this. College kids love having stadiums close by and part of a campus, but hey they play in a a high caliber stadium! The oRange bowl will be missed but time to move on. They are a quality football program, why not build there own?

Nah, Sparano wasn't "ticked", it will be interesting to see what shakes out at tomorrows' practice.

I suspect he advances the curve, keeps Jerry as the Starter, and we see Incognito either at G or getting some snaps at Center, I also think Jake Grove is in Roster trouble.

if they don't wanna eventually lose money, they will build their own....OB2.. should be rebuilt exclusively for the Cane's and Fin's...It would be a financial powerhouse.

58 strait home win's doesn't happen on talent alone.

You know my theory Deej, BMarsh, Dansby, Tuna, they are here to get a new stadium built..the same way Jerruh used the Tuna and TO to get one built in Dallas.

The difference is here, Tuna is more like the Jets Tuna, big bucks on FA's, compressed timetable, only now, no salary cap..

Sorry, but I just can't get behind the notion that the stadium sucks. Are there better stadiums in the NFL? Yes, but they're all newer. And even many of the new ones aren't as good as Sun Life Stadium. Jerry Jones' North Texas Football Cathedral and Mausoleum doesn't impress me, but the Cardinals' new place is pretty good.

I really think you're off base every time you bring this stadium topic up. Go and watch the 2008 playoff game against the Ravens, or the 2009 MNF game against the Jets. The stadium is fine. The missing element is an elite on-field product.

I just wonder how many championships those Marlins would have won if they had to play on a field whose infield had no sand...straight turf? You can rationalize all you want, but to say that part of the field doesn't have an effect on the players is foolish to say the least.

The trainers have different cleats for different field conditions. Shorter cleats for dry turf, longer cleats for soggy loose turf. What in the hell is a trainer to do to compensate for a water logged baseball infield wehn 300 plus pound offensive linemen sink inches into mud and have no traction to provide the block needed?

I LOATHE shared stadiums...baseball and football both played on the same field. I'll be so glad when the Marlins get the own stadium.

    ON A SIDE NOTE...

It might be getting a little exaggerated..... but our current stadium is a library compared to the electricity of the Orange Bowl. It was insane...... it was one of the last places you wanted to play on the road for opposing teams. And it was like that even when this team was mediocre..... the Orange had always been famous for being a hostile environment to play in. No matter our record...

I'm less concerned about a roof than I am making the seats closer to the field......

And if given the choice between dumping millions more into that stadium or just building a new one...... I'd rather see them build the Orange Bowl2

Stadiums are piles of concrete with plastic seats.

It's the fans who determine the hostility of the home environment.

The Orange Bowl was made of steel...... like it was built from a giant erector set.

Ppl would stomp their feet as they yelled and cheered and it felt like the place was moving....the seats were right on top of the field. If you were in the first two rows you had to stand to see over some of the players. And you could hear everything that was going on......

While the fans are the one that make the noise...... the way a stadium is built/ laid out, can certainly have a huge effect.

This is true. The Seahawks have one of the best stadiums in the league. It's specifically designed to direct noise to the field. The Seahawks lead the league in opponents false starts at home since 05. Yet when I went to the Tampa Bay game last year the noise wasn't there, it was sold out and all the seats were filled, but the noise didn't compare to previous years.

Jetssucks mentioned some above. And DJ has been a proponent of reworking our stadium.

The problem is the stadium is not fan friendly compared to helping our team!

Its a nice facility, but the seats are so far away and the, the acoustics dond't move toward the field on 3rd down its a well known phenom. EDIT: I understand we can fill more with a better product but we still need home field advantage with a 75% stadium

It was also a dump. The Orange Bowl was once a great venue because of the teams that played there, not because the stadium somehow made the home team better. Those teams, whether the Dolphins or the Canes, didn't need any help.

A lot of people think the Seahawks pipe in crowd noise when on defense, ironically.

Ravens playoff game in 2008. Jets on MNF in 2009.

Watch and be amazed at the crowd's behavior when there's a product worth cheering on the field.

This all makes sense but what some people believe including me, is that great loud fan noise would be like jet engines in your ears in a well designed stadium that incorporates the fans. If you give them what they want they will come. They will cheer and get loud.

Why not build so you take advantage of those things it helps the bottom line.

Edit and Dsides: we need more than a jet game and a Playoff game we lost to sway me. I know it can get loud but lets always take advantage of it, even at 80% capacity.

Its true that crowd noise helps. The Offense knows what it is doing the defense cant make adjustments easily with alot noise.
