oy vey...what a shame... so close... Agger just symbolic on the left though of Liverpool's ferver today... likely a concussion from a blocked shot earlier.. and he gets back out there... he'll be seeing double for a while... Reina was 95% solid today... asking a lot. Shame but good vibrant energetic start IMO...
Arsenal looked pretty good in the first 20 minutes...then looked like crap till the OG. Pretty excited to see Newcastle United dismantle MAN U tomorrow. (Yeah I am nuts)
I didn't think they were crap the entire 70 remaining minutes. There was a short period where Liverpool got their corners and the single goal but for the most part, I thought we played well. We had several chances but didn't capitalize.
Unfortunatey it was back to the same old Arsenal with no plan B. We have always been terrible when teams have a player sent off and then sit behind the ball almost challenging us to open them up. Liverpool sat with two diciplined rows of four which pretty much killed the game. Bit harsh on the two sendings off to be honest, bookings definately but referee should just have considered the time both challenges took place - although I could have guaranteed an Arsenal player was going to be sent off to "even things out" Would be good to see NUFC turn over United tonight but see them hitting atleast four.
As long as we give a good account of ourselves I will be happy. I would really hate to see us get blown away like West Brom did on Saturady. It really should not happen as this team is pretty solid at the back (at Championship level anyway) and we have decent talent in midfield. Andy Carroll will give Vidic and Smalling problems if given the chance. In reality, the best time to play Man U is at the start of the season. We drew with them 1-1 two seasons ago and Birmingham gave them problems last season also, so if we stay disciplined and tight in midfield/at the back, then we could sneak a result. But I'm being overally optimistic .
Good soccer weekend. Uruguayan league got postponed because of a referee strike but Tottenham debuted with a dissapointing 0-0 draw agaisnt Man City. It could've easily been 5-0 in the 30th minute of the 1st half had it not been for Citeh's keeper. Rooting for Newcastle today
This is the PM I sent you: And how are we the Jets of the EPL? Hey, I was in the same situation as you a few months ago. I ended up choosing the Tottenham Hotspur. They are not one of the "Big 4", but that's the beauty of it. They did finish 4th this year and will play in the Champions League. They beat Arsenal and Chelsea in consecutive weeks. So they fit your format. Not one of the favorites to win the title, but they do well. They in my opinion have the best fans in the Premier League. A very loud and passonite crowd. They also have many really good players, like Giovanni Dos Santos, Peter Crouch, Aaron Lennon, Ledley King, Jermaine DeFoe, Palacios and Ekotto All of those played in the World Cup, so they're a really talented team. Most of them were starters in their teams. I picked them at the end of last season and fell in love with them automatically. They just played Manchester City and tied 0-0. It would've been 10-0 had it not been for City's keeper. That game was on ESPN2 as are many other "Spurs" games. This tuesday, they play in the Champions League and that game will be on your local FSN affiliate. On regular cable. They show up on national TV alot and have many supporters around the U.S. Let me know who you end up picking.
Man U is completely running over Newcastle. Newcastle looks awful. Agree about the kits, but Arsenal's yellow jersey has to be one of the ugliest jerseys in sports
Newcastle can't pass, can't hold the ball, can't mark in their third, their keeper losses track of the opponents forwards, they have zero finishing touch...other than that...they are great. well...our season is over. We sniff 10th we should party. We still suck.
I love every arsenal kit this season. The white sleeve throw backs at home. The classy yellow and blue pinstriped 3rd.
So what if Im a Tottenham fan? I'll admit that our home kit isn't the most beautiful one there is. I actually dislike it. But out sky blue jersey is awesome. And the dark blue one is pretty nice as well
3 - 0 Isn't such a bad result for Newcastle, I fully anticipated that Man Utd would completely annihilate them on the goals front!
Yeah those were nice but I really liked this one. And talking about yellow jerseys, I like the previous Barcelona's yellow jersey instead of the green one for this season.
Sp*rs away kit has typically been all yellow throughout the years. Though this year they have 6 kits! Yep 6, 3 changes and 3 sponsors - one for each competion! EPL FA Cup and Carling Cup - who thought sh*t came in so many colours?!?! :: Newcastle's only hope this year is to survive and get some money back in the pot. They haven't really changed a lot from the squad that got relegated.
Pretty much summed it up right their Section. Just outclassed by a much pbetter team. But what annoyed me was the we allowed Man U to control possession in our own half. The closing down was shocking at times and good teams will carve you open if you do not get tight. That ultimately comes down to the manager and level of preparation. Ive always worried about Hughton at this level and last night proved it. He played Wayne Routledge for the entire game who, was a liability in defense and offered noting going forward (apart from giving the ball away). Man U totally destroyed us down that left side and that was mainly because of Routledge and Perch. We also resorted to long balls far too often also, meaning we just allowed United to keep coming at us. I didn't expect us to win last night by any means, but our approach was totally wrong when going up against a team with so much attacking talent. Hopefully Hughton learns for the footballing lesson Newcastle were given last night. If he doesn't then relegation looms once again.
Alot of good players in that squad though Bab. Alot of players there who have played at a good level be it in the Premiership or Internationally. I think we should be able to stay up with the squad we have. Of course its always nice to bring in more players, but we are not going to attract many good caliber players, nor do we have alot of money. I'm more concerned about the management more than I am about the players if I am being honest.
Sorry bro that probably came over a bit harsher than intended (probably because i've been up since the crack of a sparows fart this morning thanks to my youngest! They have got a few good players but not a teams worth so I can see you in the 13th to 17th position - certainly not worthy for team of their heritage. I think Houghtons doing as good a job as Mike Ashleys tight purse strings will allow. Thanks to the new squad rule the teams outside of the big * cough * 6 (I mean 4 really! ) may end up sending a few players out on loan and it wouldn't suprise me to see you guys being busy come the 31st
