Well, he certainly torched us in the 2nd bills game, that performance is normally what the Staff looks for when scouting FA's.

Besides, the Dolphins are now competing for the spotlight with the Heat.

Miami isn't the only warm weather team in the NFL.

Jacksonville is in dire need of WR help, and their owner, GM, and coach seem desperate enough to sign Owens. Seems a likely destination to me.

There's also Tampa, a young team that could use a veteran to help out for a year, even if it's TO. The question is whether or not the ownership will open their wallets.

I also like Atlanta as a dark horse. Put Owens across from Roddy White and give Matt Ryan another option. Tony Gonzalez isn't getting any younger, and the WR help would pull a defender out of the box, making life a little easier for Michael Turner.

And even though AJ Smith has said otherwise, I still think Owens could wind up in San Diego.

But I just can't see Owens as a Dolphin.

 

Would love to have Owens but I really doubt he would become a fin with our staff

 

Parcells didn't want TO when he was a few years younger and more productive.

Not a chance, even at the veteran minimum.

 

Maybe, he has been on pros vs joes getting his basketball game up and the Heat are still in need of more players with more star power than skills.

Right on, they clearly are not afraid to cut someone in midseason, if TO is a problem, then lay the smackdown and usher him out the door.

He had the Cowpokes by the short and curlies, he had a huge contract and Jerruh admitted he was going all out to win approval for his new Bunkhouse.

In Miami, he would be on the short leash as he has no leverage.

I still put the chances at maybe 10%, however I wouldn't say "no" offhand.

And yet he is still an elite TE.

 

I think TO is still a very good player, and has the potential to be a very dangerous #2 WR. Saying that, I also think he is one of the most ego-centric a**hats to ever don a helmet. I also think he'd be an entirely unnecessary distraction to our offense, especially Brandon Marshall, who is trying very hard to repair his reputation, both with his new team, and with the media.

If we sign TO, I'll be very disappointed in our front office... VERY disappointed.

 

Arizona or Oakland would be my guesses

Even with Boldin gone, Arizona is loaded at wide receiver. They don't need another WR, they need a QB.

 

Very good observation on Marshall. I haven't really thought about that.

Still, I think I would lean towards signing him and telling him he is in a time share situation from the get go. He wants to be a starter he'll have to earn it. I like his physicality, hes aways been a great red zone target, and as important is he isn't shy about run blocking which is something you know they wont overlook. Before people go calling him washed up based on stats, just look at who his QB's were last year...Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Not sure any receivers would be putting up great stats with that duo throwing the passes.

 

i cant imagine anyone expecting TO to come here and behave. if he came here, he'd probably get tickets to heat games, and reporters would probably question him when spotted at games, and he'd probably say the wrong things and get himself into trouble as usual.

he's a talented man, but he apparently needs to learn to keep his mouth shut and his head down and realise that his talent may fade long before his ego. i think its sad to be so gifted and not be able to get a snapped up immediately by any team. and sports center isnt the reason he is out of work...

...unless you credit it to him doing stupid things in an attempt to get on sportscenter and get some "me time" at his own demise.

Two years ago, sure. Now? Owens is done. His age has as much to do with his lack of a contract as his locker room corrosiveness.

murphy impressed last year, heyward bey impressed this offseason and is a #1 draft pick so he isnt going anywhere and schilens has impressed in the limited time he's been healthy. Add jacoby ford who i think will be a good slot receiver and i dont see why they would bring in TO. They're all young, so I dont see replacing them with a geriatric receiver who loses a step every year

T.O. & Oakland is a match made in heaven. Why he wasn't drafted there and why he hasn't spent his entire career with that organization is beyond me. Not only should he sign with the Raiders, but he should be molded to take over for Al Davis once his days are numbered.

 

TO is the Barry Bonds of Football. He may just be done.

im surprised noone has mentioned the chargers as a suitor.they are having issues with jackson outthere and really don't have another reciever except gates.i could see san diego way before oakland or arizona.and before you say it josh reed is no terrel owens.oops,caught it a second too late but san was mentioned already..i apologise i just woke up.

 

For all those receivers that supposedly "impressed" people, it's not a very impressive group.

I think you're losing the forest for the trees. Louis Murphy probably had the most outright drops as a ratio to catches of any WR in the league last year. Darius Heyward-Bey is not only a well prophecied bust but he did practically nothing last year. Chaz Schilens? When is he ever healthy, and has he even broken the 400 yard mark at any point? Oh and Jacoby Ford, yes all hail the 108th picked rookie from this year's NFL Draft.

They may not sign Terrell Owens, they may not like the headaches he comes with or they may feel he's asking too much money or some such reason, but I can tell you there's no player on the roster whether singly or in combination that tells anyone with some sense that they don't need a proven WR.
