actually a celtics and nets fan. dr j and larry bird baby and at least one of my teams will crush you this year. i will get behind the knicks though. when they had bernard king i was a huge knicks fan. then after charles smith missed 78 layup attempts i swore off the team. i'm a fan of northeast ball. defense defense defense. if the knicks ever look like they can put together a good team i might get behind them again. when it comes to basketball, i really dont like the sport so i dont get too hung up on teams. i like a certain brand of ball and that tends to be stifling defense. loved the pistons when they were good. considering how crappy your defesne is going to be I'm going to enjoy rooting against them

    Lebron isn't a crappy defender.
    Wade isn't a crappy defender.
    Bosh isn't a crappy defender.
I'm sure who ever they go after at Center will be a good defender.

Come on man. I know it's upsetting. I'm mad, too. But stop talking nonsense. This team is good, and will be the team to beat in the East. Celtics don't have a chance.

    PG: Arroyo
    SG: Wade
    SF: Richardson
    PF: Beasley
    C: O'Neal...

Was the 6th best defensive team in the league last year.

    PG: Wade
    SG: Miller
    SF: James
    PF: Bosh
    C: Anthony...

Will be at least as good and should be better.

Actually, you're PG is Lebron, not Wade. And Wade will be your SG and Miller will be your SF.

On offense yes. On defense the matchups will probably work out the way I set it up.

They should at the very least be solid on defense. If not Riley will be back on the bench before the year is out....

when it comes to basketball yes. boring sport. i cant stomach rooting for a team that plays a boring style of ball which is probably 90% of the teams out there. all other sports my loyalties are hardwired. other teams i have rooted for were the Roy Tarpley Mavericks of the 80s and recently oklahoma city thunder and kevin durant. basically the way my fandom breaks down is I root for the Celtics to stay ahead of the Lakers in the championship bagging category, root for the Nets or Knicks as representatives of New York and will root for a periodic team thats puts together an exciting team.

bosh is absolutely a crappy defender. he can block shots but he gets eaten up on defense by physical big men. his rotations are cerntainly nothing to write home about. he's ok on pick and rolls and good on the perimeter but he's not a guard so being good on the perimeter isnt as important. no center and a poor defending PF makes for a weak defense

    Listen.

We are the Miami Heat. We play defense.

Check the overall rankings from last year.

    #2 in ppg defense

    #2 in FG% defense

So...to recap...the #2 ranked defense in the NBA last year goes out and adds two all-stars, one of which is an all-nba defensive choice...and you are saying that their defense will be "crappy".

    ah...no.

This is not bravado. This is reality. They will be at WORST a top 5 defensive team, while being the BEST offensive team..and that is because there will be so much garbage time, that they will let random fans from the stands play some minutes to close games.

LOL. You've blown up your team to get three players and you're going to be a top 5 defense? with RuPaul playing PF? dwayne wade and lebron james will be good defensively. i love the way wade plays defense. and though lebron gets sloppy on defense the skill is there. thats two. who else you got?

so the #2 defense from last year adds a first team ALL-NBA defensive player and now they won't be top 5.

    so that is your bet?

the championship bet...bodog is giving 8/5..unless you will beat that, I won't bet it with you. I don't believe in dick measuring bets.
