at a Target store here in Charleston, of all places. which made my day, obviously. his son was playing in an amateur golf tournie here this week. and i know he also loves to stay out at the 5 star ocean front Sanctuary hotel and resort at Kiawah Island, near here, for the beaches and golf. he walked in by himself while we were dawdling around near the front of the store, and i did a double take. he smiled and gave me a little nod of acknowledgement. i am sure my eyes were as big as saucers. wish i had more to report, but he was on his cell, and being the true Southern gentleman i am, and wanting to teach my daughters who were with me, about decent manners, i didn't stalk him around the store, or interrupt his conversation. but yes, in hindsight, i do kinda regret not stalking around to get a cell phone pic with him at least.
Dude, you definitely did the right thing. I, on the other hand, probably would've made a complete fool of myself. But hey, that's just me.
Dude, I so would have taken a pic. Daughters, in the car! Where is there momma? J/K, I'm like you, I don't get star struck, no matter who it is. Junior Seau's family came up and played with my bulldog pup. Him and his wife came out, we chatted, he said thanks and left. Everyone was like, "do you know who that was?" Of course I do, it's Seau with his family on a sunday afternoon near the beach.
That's great man....I got to meet John Madden at a Dolphins/Chargers game in October, 2003. But I would love to meet Dan Marino one day.
Good for you Chlstphan...as much as most of us would be drooling all over him...ya' did the right thing...hope you daughters learned a good lesson....
i do have to admit getting in the car and, as soon as i had the AC cranked up, calling my brother and two other Dolphin fans i grew up with acting like a 41 year old fan boy. and from what i have gathered since this morning, Dan apparently has bought a house at Kiawah, and frequents a restaurant that i like alot as well. so mebbe my manners will be rewarded at some point in the future. and FWIW he looked to be in pretty good shape.
Dan came to our school when I was in 5th grade. I got to catch a football from my hero. To this day, I haven't washed my hands.
I think you did the right thing. I haven't really met any big celebrities in my lifetime. I can't imagine I'd feel starstruck. Dan might be an exception though. The other would be Clint Eastwood.
i have been hoping to see him...i live in summerville. i would have asked him to throw me a pass (i can only wish)
Brother I hate to tell you, but it's time, it's time Love the way you handled yourself with class Charleston, way to go.
dude, impressive job on the man cave. i live over on James Island myself. my wife works in the 'Ville though.
It's always fun to see celebrities out and about. Reminds me of when I was standing behind Roy Jones Jr at Best Buy this past Christmas in Destin FL. We both were buying gift cards, he had like 10 of them, and I thought... whoever thought up gift cards was a great great man. Doesn't matter if you're me or have millions like he does, you can't go wrong with a gift card!
That's cool. I've never met Dan but I have seen John Elway a few times here in Colorado. It must be tough being so famous and recognizable that people always stop you and ask for autographs. I guess being famous would have it's good and bad points.
I live in moncks corner. saw dan at a golf tournament at kiawah plus got keith byars to autograph a dolphins hat for me. also nice man cave.
