Did you see the look in Lebrons eye's when he turned around to the crowd tonight?..That was a happy kid that looked like someone who just moved away from home...lol, I guess i'am starting to come around on the idea.. for the record, Dwade has always been the best... Man That sh#@ at the arena was so cool, The game and personality of Dwade made it all happen.

No way in hell should basketball overshadow football in Miami. In fact, I don't understand how people enjoy basketball to begin with.

The NBA is nothing more than wannabe athletes that cry and complain when **** doesn't go their way. Not to mention the NBA Championship is pathetic. The celebration is pathetic. The players are pathetic.

I hope they have more media coverage on the person that eventually fixes the oil spill crisis than they gave Lebron.

    This is a football town.

But the heat is the best organization in this town..in treatment of their fans, value for their ticket dollar, interaction with fans...and quite frankly...entertainment.

The Dolphins should watch the heat and emulate them.

Problem is that the Fins have had a ton of FO changes..and we finally found stability.

The Heat has had the same people in all positions for 15 years.

    This !!!!

Besides you can throw in the Marlins winning 2 World Series in the last 13 years and its definitely not a baseball town. Of course this has more to do with Sun Life not being baseball friendly, and a cheap a** owner (Bozo the Art Clown - thats classic thanks Desides ).

I agree with this, the Heat do have the best front office, and the most friendly towards the local media. They always get their message out and the way they want it. As has been seen in the recent past, the Fins FO and also the Marlins too, have been less than friendly and its hurt their organizations at times. Jeff Ireland was a disaster in the Bryant flap.

Sorry to say this as I am a HUGE Dolphins fan but I hope the Heat go down in flames. The way Lequitter treated us back home is a disgrace and I hope nothing but bad things for him and his boys in Miami. Sorry my Dolphin brothers and sisters to have to say this but it is true.

And your point is? It doesn't change the fact that neither LeBron nor Wade can shoot or play off the ball. Doesn't chance the fact that the Heat have no other talent or depth on the team. And doesn't change the fact that the Heat would get destroyed if Bosh/Haslem are the starters.

So far your evaluations are entirely wrong. Especially the part about Wade not having a mid-range game. You haven't watched the Heat in the last four years. But they'll be all over national TV like the '90s Bulls, so you can rectify that.

You have not the foggiest idea of what you are talking about.

    The Evidence?

Oddly enough...both guys are the most efficient shooters in the NBA, and happen to be 1 and 2 on the list of best "off the ball" players.

Actually Wade was among the top 25 in FG%. If you watched him at all last year then you know that most of that came from his mid range game. And shooters are easy to find. Reports are that Miller will officially sign early next week and Miami can bring back Q-rich under the team's bird rights. Actually there are a host of shooters they could bring in. So while I agree they need them finding them will be easy.

As for the rest of the depth, that won't be hard either. They already have the rights to Joel Anthony who is the guy I'd start at C. I disagree that they would get destroyed with Bosh/Haslem but I prefer Haslem as the guy that comes off the bench. They could easily bring back Magliore from last year's team. There are rumors that Shaq wants to come back and that Ilgauskus (sp?) is interested.

Basically my point is that the hard part of the roster building is finished. The rest is filling in the pieces and there are and will be many pieces to choose from.

IMO the Dolphin's FO could learn a lot from the Heat FO about how to treat their vets. I have no doubt that Wade spent a great deal of time talking about how Zo was welcomed back and how ex-players are treated as family. The Dolphins FO has a tendency to kick their vets to the curb in a less graceful fashion.

The main thing is customer relations.

The Heat are almost toooooo nice. The Dolphins have an attitude toward their customers.

Many years ago I used to work as an usher at both JRS and the Miami Arena. It was a second job I took as a cheap way to be able to get to go to the games. Anyways, it always struck me how much nicer and accommodating the Heat was to it's customers. It seems like they were/are just nicer to everybody. I already mentioned how the vets are treated. But you can also add in the media. Riley has just as much of a reputation as anybody for running a very tight-lipped organization. Very little info gets out to the media or anyone. Yet for some reason the Heat avoids the reputation for being jerks that the Dolphin FO seems to have. The Dolphins can definitely learn a few things from the Heat in that regard.

And your reading comprehension is entirely wrong it seems as well as I'm quite sure I never said anything about Wade not having a mid range game. That being said, Wade shot 34% 10-15 feet out, and 36% 16-23 feet out. So he does have a mid range game, a below average one.

 1 and 2 on the list of off the ball players. Again, Both of these guys handled the ball over 90% of the time for their teams last year. Efficient shooters? Of course. In the paint. However from 10+ feet out, both are below the league average.

He was top 25 in FG%, that is correct. And that came from the paint. As I've already pointed out his mid range shooting percentages, below the league average. Never did I say it wouldn't work, or that the Heat won't find depth/a Center, I'm saying that Heat fans are much too confident that it will. And I can only laugh at the Bosh/Haslem not getting destroyed remark. Bosh is as soft as they come, and Haslem surely plays no defense. They wouldn't stand a chance against a lengthy team like LA.

Usually when someone says "can't shoot", they would be referring to behind the 3 point shot. But even if you want to include mid range shooting, Wade is a below average mid range shooter.

in the last 2 minutes of games? yes.

and yes they are 1 and 2 off the ball. <Maybe you don't know what off the ball play entails.

okay. time to give it up.

The guy that got the nickname.."the Dirk stopper" can;t play defense?

The captain of the #1 defensive team in the NBA last year can;t play defense?

The guy with one of the lowest PER against averages int eh NBA can;t play defense?

news for you buddy...Udonis Haslem might be the best on the ball defender of Power Forwards not named Kevin Garnett in the entire league./

you are now just posting nonsense at a feverish pace.

    what is next?

Pat Riley is a terrible general manager. Dwyane Wade can't play defense. Mike Miller can;t shoot. Hurry up..you are on a roll.

You're right he is a good on the ball defender, and a good rebounder. But as a post defender going up against say, Pau Gasol, he doesn't stand a chance. No shot blocking either if you don't resign Anthony.

    Let me see...

Coach K thought Dwyane Wade was the best off the ball player on the dream team and played him off the bench in an energy role. COMPLETELY off the ball. he led the dream team in scoring.

Lebron is obviously the best off the ball player in the NBA and it is not even close...so I won;t waste my time explaining how 6-9 250 pound guys that run really fast and jump really high are pretty good off the ball players.

Pau Gasol guarded by Udonis Haslem and Michael Beasley last year (Beasley is a terrible defender):

    Game #1

    Lakers Win 108-107

    22 points 42 minutes 8-16, 8 rebounds.

    Game #2

    Lakers Lost 114-111

    10 points 34 minutes 4-11, 9 rebounds.

I'm gone for a day but Section has pretty much destroyed all those ridiculous arguments against the super friends and Haslem. LOL

I don't see how anybody can claim that Heat fans are being too confident that the team can find depth and a C when every day brings news of a new player contacting the team to say they're interested. Any claim that they won't be able to find depth and a C is the one that is far-fetched. Really it just sounds like desperation from the fans of other teams.

These are 3 players who have established a friendship and like any friendship there has to be some give and take. There is already a hierarchy established so the ego trip is being overplayed IMO.

What these players want is Championships .Thats what their legacy will ultimately be.

If you throw in another big ego like a Shaq for instance there could be problems but I dont think Riley will fall into that trap.

The Heat need to fill out their roster and players are lining up to join this promising team.

As to the original question the Miami Dolphins will always be first in South Florida's heart but the Heat could make strong inroads with a winning team.
