    there was no indication that memphis would do that.

    and Jerry West did one prolonged successful rebuild.

    BTW...the similarities to the summer of 04' are striking.

    The Heat was left with basically just Wade and SHAQ and a couple of "guys".

    59 wins.

    You mean Joe Dumars. He Built a Juggernaut once.....and is still trying to rebuild it..unsuccessfully. (Ben Gordon, Charlie Villanueva 2009 fiasco)

    Riley, Auerbach, and Shula are the only guys in the history of sports to do more than 3 rebuilds successfully.

    Brown was not a GM in Detroit or Philly. Larry Brown has never been a personnel man. he is a coach. In Charlotte he made one change and it was really Jordan that pushed that move (Steven jackson)

    Bill Polian?

    I see one QB induced run and no rebuilds.

    Brown made several changes in Charlotte.

    Bills 3 consecutive SB's
    Panthers from expansion team to NFC Title game in 2 seasons.

    The Thomas deal at the end of the season was a yawner.

    No. The rebuilds I am crediting to Riley (5) are only the rebuilds in the last 20 years he has been a personnel man.

    again..Polian was too lucky. The Panthers turnaround was his real "work".

    I would include Polian on the list for three rebuilds. I would not include Brown as he wasn't the GM or pulling the strings successfully.

    And peddled Adam Morrison to the Lakers in one of those cap moves, then traded a different cat who wouldn't do what Brown wanted, they also peddled Okafor under Brown and made the playoffs after being woeful.


    Riles has the same number of titles in the last 20yrs as Brown does.
