If we are smart...we encourage Wade to meet with as many teams that are competing with us for these Free Agents. Keep them occupied.

Don't worry dude..there is a reservation for the Fountain Bleu ballroom for July 9th...for Wade's resigning party. (according to the media)

Maybe Wade and LeBron in New York?

That would be the ultimate F U you to Heat fans.

Word around the camp fire is that Miami is Chris Bosh's #1 destination.

A certain local media personality is convinced that Bosh is Miami's.

His actual #1 destination, or his #1 destination if for some reason he can't sign with the same team as LeBron?

His #1 destination with or without Lebron.

He actually resents being portrayed as Lebron's poodle according to some comments he made to Perkins of the PBP.

Does he resent the perception that he's only in it for the money? (Serious question.)

If he actually wants to be part of a dynasty, then he leaps ahead of Amare on my do want list.

They are all in it for the money.

If Lebron wanted a championship...he would sign here yesterday.

They want "everything". They want a perfect situation. I sense Bosh is really into this town.

Assuming Bosh is interested in Miami, and he wants a S&T, is there anyone else on the Raptors roster that Riles should try to have tossed into the deal?

You'd have to figure a S&T deal with Bosh would include Beasely, but you'd also have to figure that with a barren Heat roster they maybe would like someone else tacked onto the deal?

Right, that's why I said "only."

If Bosh will seriously contribute toward a team that's supposed to make multiple runs at the title, then come on down.

I think the discussions will start with Colangelo trying to get us to take a bad contract from them...then they will end.

it is up to Bosh to commit to the heat..and then if he pushes for a S&T...force Colangelo to take whatever we give them. it is up to the player in this instance. he has to be a partner.

Depends Sect, Bosh knows the Raptor players as well as anyone, and he also knows the Heat have 1 player under contract so would it be that huge a leap to toss in someone?

    :dunno:

Not if it is a terrible contract...

and the Heat has 3 rotation players in the bag...gotta get 5 more. then you develop the bottom of the roster.

The team will likely look like this:

    Chalmers
    Wade
    Gay
    Bosh
    Anthony/Pittman

    Bench:

    Pittman
    Bell
    Wright
    Haslem?

that is a team right there that wins the east.

Hearing the same. People "expect" Bosh to sign with Miami. It's more of a concern whether he'll sign outright for 5/97 or he'll push for sign-and-trade to get his 6/120.

If Bosh doesn't end up here it's really because Pat Riley and/or Dwyane Wade prefers Amare, and that would be due to the lack of contract demand. Amare wants the max, but really, he wants to be here. He might (good chance) be willing to take a few million less.

What if we sign both Bosh and Amare? I've been thinking about that possibility. Would be crazy. Weak front line defensively, but fine with the right reserves; preferably Haslem, Pittman, Joel, and perhaps a Kurt Thomas. Amare can play C. Bosh can too, but has said that he's a forward and that will not change. I doubt it happens, but it could work. Would be the type of Pat Riley surprise that one has come to expect.

I'm more into signing Bosh and splitting the rest up with perhaps Salmons/Miller & Haywood/Chandler while retaining UD if possible.

If Riley goes his smoke screen route of "filling out the roster" and "building a team" once the three max option fails:

    G - M. Chalmers / C. Arroyo / C. Duhon
    G - D. Wade / R. Bell
    F - M. Miller / D. Wright / D. Butler
    F - C. Bosh / U. Haslem / K. Thomas
    C - B. Haywood / J. Anthony / D. Pittman

    D. Wade = 16,600,000
    C. Bosh = 16,600,000 (Beasley + future picks included via sign-and-trade, $5,000,000 less)
    B. Haywood = 8,000,000
    U. Haslem = 5,000,000
    M. Miller = 4,000,000
    D. Wright = 3,000,000
    J. Anthony = 1,800,000 (QO)
    R. Bell = 1,400,000
    K. Thomas = 1,400,000
    C. Duhon = 1,400,000

This might be a better team than simply throwing all that's left into Rudy Gay.

Chris Bosh WILL sign with the Miami Heat unless MIAMI goes another direction. It's SEALED.

If we don't get Bosh we're going to be doomed though. Let me say that right now. If Carlos Boozer or David Lee becomes our prize, I will never post in this thread again. Will never visit RealGM again. Hell, I'll even stop playing pick up basketball myself.

Chicago has LeBron in the bag. New York is moving onto sealing Amare. We cannot lose out on LBJ, Bosh, AND Amare.

Wow. ESPN's NBA coverage is a freaking joke.

I like how their "countdown to NBA free agency" timer is placed underneath a pair of Photoshopped images of LeBron in a Knicks and Nets uniform. This isn't even reporting, it's passing off a masturbation fantasy as inside information.

I don't have the link but apparently Stephen A. Smith is reporting LBJ and Bosh to Heat and that he would bet his life savings on it.

If it was anybody other than SAS I'd be flying but it's cool to hear a national guy mention us in the final 72 hours.

    Beautiful.

Although LBJ did just build a $30 million estate in akron....

I have to say Sec, if SAS is accurate and we will sign LBJ, do we even need Bosh? Wouldn't we be better off at that point keeping Beasley and then splitting the remaining $13 million on Lee/Felton/whoever. Or make a trade with NO for Collisson and get Okafor as well.

It just seems like if you have LBJ and Wade, aren't you better off putting a more complete team around them?

    But I'll take bosh

To be honest...I want Lebron to go elsewhere and give Wade..Bosh and some pieces so Wade can pound him for 5 years.

But if it is Wade, Bron, Bosh here in Miami...The season will be a procession and they will threaten 72 wins if they want to.

I hear ya. It would be a great rivalry. But it would simply be amazing to watch Wade and LBJ take the floor together every night.

It would be like being back in the 60's with the Celtics super teams where 5 guys were HOFers.

And one of the most expensive.

At the height of the SHAQ/WADE run...nose bleed tickets were going for $75 to $100

    Courtside was $5,000

There is something going on with the heat...they are HOLDING lower bowl seats and asking corporations to renew at a higher price (UPS has had their seats pulled and renewed at a higher price)

They are preparing a price gouging move....so they know something.

Dude. I want the Miami Heat to make that cesspool known as LA to look like Micky MouseVille. I want the Miami Heat to make the Gaaaarden look like a dump. The national media may start sucking on us for once, but I'm pretty sure we'll get our share of hatred.

The AAA may actually have the same energy as the old Miami Arena when the Heat had some of the best fans in the game while we competed for the 8th seed. People can poke fun of the bandwagon jumpers in Miami, but the Heat has always had a rabid fanbase that loves BBALL and loves the Heat. We've been around since day 1 and despite our Championship season, if Riley can pull off this move he will be a godlike figure in S Florida, and not just for what he has done on the court.. To think, we won 15 games several years ago and everyone thought Riley was done.. The Ruler's Back...

And what's up with all the SAS hate? SAS, believe it or not, is actually pretty credible. At least more than Bucher/Broussard. The problem with SAS credibility is that he presents a lot of his opinions as facts and is misunderstood, but in this case, he's clearly calling fact and backing it up with "sources"

Still... I don't personally believe it. He's right about Bosh and not about LBJ. I will gladly be wrong though. GLADLY.
