Love the pick for Sac. I think Whiteside has a lot of potential. His 7'7 wingspan was the longest in the draft. I think this guy is going to be a great shot blocker in the NBA. if he ever grows up, he could be a starter in this league.

Really wish my Sixers would buy a pick or something. I'd love to get Jerome Jordan or Soloman Alibi. At least get Hamady Ndiaye...

Knicks bought the 44th pick from Milwakee supposedly for Jerome Jordan. trade hasnt been officially announced but realgm has been accurate all night so no reason to think any differently.

Loved the Rautins pick by the knicks as he can play Pg or SG in a reserve role and blast 3's all day. Wont blow anyone away with athleticism but leadership, shooting and performance in big games is a strong point.

Landry Fields wasnt in anyones top 100 so either Donnie just didnt give a damn or he took a shot in the dark, my guess is the later.

Former coach Paul Silas shared that he believes LeBron James will be in a Knicks uniform.
Silas believes that the scale of the New York scene coupled with the disappointing conclusion of the past season point to him bolting Cleveland for Madison Square Garden. Silas hasn't held any private conversations, but he is pulling off his experience with James as his first coach in the NBA.

James couldn't win it by himself in Cleveland, and he won't win it with worse talent in NY. Not that I think he ends up there anyway

Sorry to say, but I think the Knicks are going to be the laughing stock of the NBA for a very long time. I see LeBron going to the Nets, Bulls, Heat, and the Clippers before I see him going to the Knicks. Obviously the Knicks still could get some very good players. But Joe Johnson and say, Carlos Boozer is epic fail.

If Lebron was smart he'd go to the Nets. LBJ, Lopez, and Favors would be an unbelievable frontcourt. They have a alot of other good talent as well in Harris, Lee, Williams, Dooling, etc. And they would have the room to bring in another FA. People talk about LeBron being able to own New York City if he goes to the Knicks, well last time I checked, Brooklyn is in New York City too.

    Devin Harris
    Joe Johnson
    LeBron James
    Derrick Favors
    Brook Lopez.

    That's a championship.

sorry to say but a potential combo of two max free agents like say lebron and bosh is better then anything the nets or bulls could throw out. No other team but the knicks and heat can sign two max guys despite what Chris ruh-tard says on ESPN. The knicks have currys deal expiring at 11m so it could be packaged for an upgrade on Wilson chandler at the two or we could wait for the deal to run out and sign a player next year.

And no one in their right mind should willingly put themselves in basketball purgatory...the la clippers

Clippers have more pieces than the Knicks that's for damn sure and LA is a big market.

I'd rather see LeBron make a name for himself as a Clip.

but its still the clippers and its still basketball hell. Also la has some pieces but all have questions. Baron Davis is talented but hurt every year. Gordon had a sophomore slump...is he the player we saw in year one or year two? Blake griffin is a huge question. And kaman is often injured and has a low basketball iq. They have about 20m in cap space so its just lebron, he doesn't get to bring a friend lol

I consider the Knicks basketball hell. Hell they may lose David Lee. Who would they have if Lee leaves? I'm not saying they wont bring in FA because they do I just don't think they have enough there to tempt LeBron.

Hate to point this out Boik, but it has been years, as in almost a decade since the Knicks were even worth mentioning, it may be difficult to accept but the Knicks are on the same level as the Clippers only the Clips have more talent on the roster.

Not saying any big name is heading to the Clips since Calvin Murphy and Bob McAdoo..but still it's been over a decade since Ewing laced them up in NYC..

But at least the Knicks have a history. The Clippers have what, 2 1st round playoff exits in the last 25 years? The Clippers have more talent on the roster right now but the Knicks could bring a better potential situation to the table by virtue of Lebron being able to bring Bosh or Amare with him. Then the Knicks would by far have more talent on the roster. I have no problem admitting things, you just have to see the possible situations which could change circumstances. The clippers cant get Bosh with lebron unless they move some significant talent in a S&T

I'm sorry but History is a joke IMO. I didn't see anyone clamoring to go to the Celtics when they were ****.

A Free Agent will go where the money is. Why else would the Knicks continue to overpay for players to play for them? I expect small markets to overpay for Free agents not a huge market like New York.

Well I was simply putting it in perspective. The Clippers and Knicks could offer the same money so what else besides history, supporting cast and postential supporting cast could be used to differentiate the two teams?

Knicks have nobody. Literally, nobody. Nets and Bulls have much better teams than the knicks. And even though the Nets and Bulls can't sign two max contracts, they're damn close, and can easily make trades to be able to. Even the Clippers have better pieces. And with Lebron's ego, I can surely see him going to Los Angeles. LeBron and Bosh isn't winning a championship by itself.

If LeBron wants to make a name for himself in New York, it will be in Brooklyn, not Manhattan.

Thing of it is, James just spent 7 yrs in Cleveland going through the "build a franchise' process with good results, but the thing is, why would he sign up to do the same thing in NYC?

I "know" NYC wants the best players as a point of pride, but they may be better off simply aiming for "competitive" and sign 3 or 4 guys rather than 2 MAX players and no money left for fillin pieces.

To their credit at least the Wiz realized they have to make it to "competitive" by acquiring Hinrich and Wall, in NYC that just isn't the mentality.

The Clips are not respected as a franchise in the NBA, not as long as Stirling owns the franchise, so unless Geffen buy the team Bron is not going to play in LA as second fiddle in his own building on a Clipper team that is just as likely to flip the roster in 2011 as make the playoffs.

Well I guess depends on where the person lived. If they lived on the East Coast naturally they would want to go to New York. Honestly though I rather go to a team with more pieces that can contend. IF the Knicks can manage to snag some quality players then it can change but as of today Other than location Knicks have nothing to offer really.

Woj: Of the six teams meeting with LeBron James the Bulls are the favorites. Heat and Nets making "strong" push. Knicks and Clippers long shots. Cavs still an option.

Gallinari is a stud. Chandler is good as well. Douglas is a good young rookie. And whats the one thing the Cavs have always lacked? Jump shooters. So before you say the Knicks have no one think what Douglas and Gallinari do best. Thats right, bury threes.

RE Nets and Bulls...again a lineup of Douglas/Lebron/Chandler/Gallinari/Bosh > Rose/Noah/Deng/whoever the bulls signed. Those teams have more talent in place but they dont offer the opportunity for a better team post FA. Only the Knicks and Heat do. And Lebron is not playing two years in that dump in Newark. You know it and I know it.

For starters, "competitive" isnt an option when you have won a championship since 1972. For two, the worst spot to be in the NBA is mired in mediocrity. Its not like the NFL where you find gems in UDFA and late in the draft, those are few and far between unless your name is RC Buford or Sam Presi. You dont want to be in that 40-50 win range where youre too good to acquire the top shelf talent it takes to win in the NBA and too bad to win a championship. The last thing Id ever want is for them to sign a bunch of guys to 5 year/50million dollar deals like Boozer, Joe Johnson or whoever. You go for the stars because thats what the NBA is driven by. Look at the Lakers and celtics for proof...Kobe, Pierce, Allen, Garnett all future HOFERS, Rondo and Gasol top 20 players in the league right now.

As for why Lebron would choose the Knicks:
    1) He's said he wants to be the first billion dollar basketball player....Jordan for all he accomplished on the court is "only" worth 533M. Not even close. Lebron's Q factor would blow up here. Its not happening anywhere but New York because LA isnt nearly the sports town NY is. Look at the Mets and NYY drawing 3M + every year, the Giants previously having 25 year waiting lists for season tickets for proof.
    2) Ability to bring a player of his choosing with him this year and another one next year when Curry's 11M expires. Thats 2 other major stars plus Gallinari. So if he wants to win this is a 1 year rebuilding project at most.

What? Anthony Parker, Mo Williams, Booby Gibson, Delonte West, Ilgauskas. Cavs have had plenty of jump shooters. I don't see Gallinari as a stud at all. He's a good player, certainly not a stud. Chandler is an average player. good athlete, good defender, that's about it. I do like Tony Douglas though. The Knicks have nobody, and I highly doubt Lebron ends up a Knick.

What is New Jersey's cap total now with Derrick Favors cap hold? They can't sign two max players. LeBron would clearly cost the full max, and then they'd have to convince Joe Johnson to sign for around 12-13 million. Don't know if he turns down more from other teams. It's rumored that he has a commitment from Chicago and will officially come to terms on July 1st anyway.

    New Jersey/Brooklyn:

    G - Devin Harris
    G - Courtney Lee
    F - LeBron James
    F - Derrick Favors
    C - Brook Lopez

Is more likely. That's good. Very good. However, Chicago and Miami can build better teams. I would then like to see Chicago get Johnson and Boozer and Miami get Bosh and Gay (sign-and-trade Beasley to open up more room to sign a center).

LeBron James is not lining up at SG. Gallo/Bosh would be one of the weakest front courts in the NBA and would get slaughtered on a nightly basis. Gallo is not a 4 and Bosh is not a 5.

I'd take a line up of Rose/Johnson/LBJ/Gibson/Noah or Rose/(whatever they can get for Deng)/LBJ/Bosh/Noah over anything the Knicks could potentially put together. I'd also prefer Wade + whatever Miami can put together, New Jersey, and even LAC's potential LeBron line ups over New York.

I told you guys from the start that NYK would eventually become unappealing to LeBron, and now it's all coming to fruition.

Looking at each team's current situation and cap space, if I'm LeBron James, my list goes as follows....

    1. Chicago (LBJ + Rose/Noah/Deng/Gibson + close to another max)
    2. Miami (ONLY chance at a Big 3: LBJ + Wade/Beasley/Chalmers + another max)
    3. New Jersey (LBJ + Lopez/Harris/Favors + close to another max)
    4. LAC (starting 5 already in tact; would be BDiddy/Gordon/LBJ/Griffin/Kaman with Aminu off the bench)
    5. New York/Cleveland ("Mecca" vs. "Home")

Uhm...not for nothing but the Dodgers were the leader in MLB attendance last year with 3.7 million. The Yankees were a close second, the Angels fifth and the Mets seventh. In fact, the Dodgers have been in the top 3 in attendance for the better part of a decade with teams that, shall we say, have been routinely mediocre. And it is always right around 3.7 million. And if we want to get into Lakers fans versus Knicks fans...one could make an even stronger market for L.A.

Not to mention its propensity to Hollywood, which you could call a wash with New York's market. Just Sayin'

The Heat can afford three if they clear beasley in a S&T.
