Todays game will come down to whoever makes the best of their chances. Ghana are a strong, physical side, but are much better technically and organised than the rest of the African nations. Their midfield is strong and Gyan up front is a handful. I can see him causing the US centre backs big problems with his pace. The US are not the most technically gifted side, but are dangerous on the flanks, which ios their main source of production when going forward. The Ghanian defense is not the greatest and will struggle with good service out wide from Dempsey and Donovan. Their goalkeeper is the 3rd choice keeper for Wigan and is pretty average. Made a poor mistake against Australia and taking shots on him frequently may cause a mistake. The US however will not be able to bully Ghana, as they are as strong physically as the US. I think Ghana will be the better team and create more chances, however they are not the best finishers in front of goal. If the US can make the most of their opportunities, then they should win this game, but it will be close. Really looking forward to this game.
Heh. Where's Simon if you need him? Oh, I forgot. He's probably hiding beneath his covers, praying "please no penalties, please no penalties ..."
i think our back line will have some real scary moments and backpedals. ghana is physical for sure. i wonder if that means onyewu will start. they did seem a bit better without him though. some of our defenders arent the biggest guys, but do have some speed
Just thought I'd post this. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CTWoc4xOP4"]YouTube- fernando torres dives while i play fitting music[/ame] Must be because he was wearing a blue jersey.
Thought South Korea outplayed Uruguay today. It's a shame that they took their foot off the pedal when they got the equalizer. Give Uru a bit of credit for getting it going again after they looked to be shell shocked. Not sure why Uru's defense is rated so highly, they looked ragged for most of the game. Quality strike by Suarez though. They need to fix that pitch though... dreadful condition. That quarterfinal dream match (Bra vs Ned perhaps) is going to be ruined because of it.
Lineup vs Ghana: Howard; Cherundolo, DeMerit, Bocanegra, Bornstein; Donovan, Bradley, Clark, Dempsey; Altidore, Findley absolutely terrible if you ask me
Seems like Ghana is on our side of the field most of the game. This does not look good right now. Seems like we don't know how to clear the ball away from our side. COME ON
ghana's defense is stifling us. we're playing flat. i think if we're going to score its going to have to come from a set piece
Buddle should be in too. Sorry but even if they manage to come back and win, there is no chance they are getting past the Netherlands or Brazil. Even Uruguay they would be lucky.
Edu and buddle shouldve been starting in the first place. Now that's two unneeded subs, hopefully at least buddle gets in..also maybe feilhaber
Flat......they need to get yelled at the half...they seem like they dont want to be here....is this France??
Someone explain to me the difference between Dempsey being taken down in the box and Asamoah being taken down in the box earlier? I've played soccer all my life and I fail to see it.
Jozy just made one of the nicest shots in the match from the U.S. lol he got away with pushing the defender NASTY and was still on target. I like the aggression.
Oh my. Usa better side frankly and deserve to win but one mistake by either could be it. Dempsey is the best player on the pitch.
