I don't believe a word Bosh says, but if he wants to wait for LeBron then he better hope that Riley is also waiting. If LeBron stays in Cleveland, or ends up with Chicago (and Toronto doesn't want Deng or Hinrich), New Jersey, or LAC per say... he'd be left in the wind if Miami goes with Amare.

Although I want Bosh because of his talent, I kinda want to see this happen. He's becoming a real attention whore.

 

Right now we have:

Beasley: 4,962,240
Jones: 4,640,000 - Buyout = 1,840,000
Chalmers: 847,000

Salary = 7,649,240
Cap = 56,000,000
Cap Space = 48,350,760

Three players starting at 16,500,000 = 49,500,000

This works due to Wade's bird rights.

 

Riley is definitely going all in, but if he semi-fails by only landing say Wade and Amare, then it might actually work out for the better. We'd have a ton of cap space remaining to fill out the roster with more than capable role players.

 

July 4 will not be held in celebration of our kicking British butt. Rather, it will be a preemptive celebration of our next three titles.

I'm just waiting for a name that no one has mentioned to pop up out of nowhere. You know how things usually end up with Pat Riley. The unexpected almost always takes place one way or another. Al Jefferson and Monta Ellis could both be had for almost close to nothing. Minnesota and Golden State are trying to get out of those long term contracts. Remember that...

How convenient is it that Jefferson makes exactly 12 million this year?

If they don't move him tonight his stock drops even more.

 

We'll see man. I have a feeling Riley isn't even done yet. He's got an entire night to work on something. This was supposed to be the night where we went all out trying to move pieces around to add more cap space, but we already did that. I really hope we use ALL of our second round picks (non guaranteed contracts) with the hopes of landing a gem or two, but I doubt it.

We've got the freedom to explore tonight now... we can look into potentially trading for players if one of our free agent chips decide not to fall.

 

I'm not sure if this possible, so please let me know if it is even feasible.

I cannot wait for July 1st, but let's say Miami only lands Amare and Wade. Would it be possible to pursue Carmelo next year?

 

I believe only if we go the route of minimum contracts and one year deals after landing Amare and Wade. It'd be a difficult season to watch and perhaps another wasted year of Wade's prime.

Damn you, Melo... why didn't you listen to LeBron and sign the deal he, Wade, and Bosh all agreed to sign?

Saw a Twitter post (I think NBADraft.net or Draft Express) that he's our top target at #32. Not sure if that Twitter post was posted in this thread, or on another forum. Too much news lately!

 

Vazquez was the only bright spot on an awful Maryland team. When we played them in College Park, he had to be the entire team and carry them on his shoulders. Would be interesting to see how he plays when he doesn't have to be the go-to guy.

 

I posted in '10 thread that Melo should fire his agent.

Not only is he eligible for only about $65 mill in an extension, but he's missing out on all the fun.

If Melo was available I'd be targeting him over LBJ to play with Wade due to his ability to be effective without the ball. Oh well....

Posting this here and in the '10 thread as it directly affects the Heat. Chicago has responded by trading Hinrich and #17 to Wash.

Chicago now has room for 2 max guys, according to ESPN.

 

Chicago just ****ed us pretty good.

Rose + Noah + Deng + Max + Max > Wade + Max + Max

Why would they take Hinrich? Wall, Zero, and Hinrich?

 

I don't know that I agree as Deng is garbage that can't stay healthy. I think I've seen ten Bulls games over the last 2 years and he didn't play in any of them.

Chicago will also have the same depth issues as us. but yes, this is a problem. My only solace is that Chicago has whiffed every time they've gone into Free Agency. Let them have Boozer and Joe Johnson

Told you guys... nobody wants Michael Beasley.

 

If Chicago can trade Kirk Hinrich with more than $17 mill left on his deal, we will get somebody to take Beasley, I have no doubt about it.

 

We will find a taker, but at this point are we better off simply keeping him, getting our max and junior max and having Beasley play a 6th man energy role, and then trade him deadline or next off season when his value is higher?

 

I think it does too, but I don't think Riley is thinking that way. I think he finds a way to answer Chicago tonight.

And have you heard about this rumored Deng to Orlando for Gortat and Pietrus? Doesn't help Chi cap waise (I think they actually give up a little space) but would give them two nice role players

I wonder if the issue is that Riley is trying to attach Jones to any Beasley deal or get a pick back.

I imagine he'll find a way to make it happen considering the anal insertion he performed on Bryan Colangelo somehow getting a 1st round pick JO and Moon for Marion.
