I think the idea if controlling videos and netflix with my hand is an awesome one. But according to Microsoft's online store, Kinnect will be $150 (the well rumored price point). I have one question... ARE THEY ****ING CRAZY? Who the hell is gonna spend the cost of a Wii on this thing? Are their business dev people morons? Do they have THAT much faith in their marketing of this thing. http://store.microsoft.com/microsoft/Kinect-Sensor-for-Xbox-360/product/C737B081
I don't know, and I don't know if it's any sort of accurate indication, but Kinect has been like the #1 best selling/ordered 360 related product since it was put on the website.
that's insane... I will never pay $150 for this thing (cut scene to 6 months from now and I'm posting that I suckered up and bought one)
I agree that it is too much. Also I don't know what I would use it for, it's really somthing I'd want to demo first before I bought it. I also read that is doesn't work very well unless you're standing, which is definitely a deal breaker.
I almost feel that they are putting a fake price out just to drop it to 70.00 and make everyone happy. The Microsoft guy on g4 tv last Friday said that everyone would be pleased with the price point and he would announce it on g4 later.
Eh, I'm not buying it. Nor am I buying any ****ty motion controlled products. This motion control BS is going to be the end of gaming... Watching Shigeru Miyamoto epic fail using the wiimote while playing Zelda at the E3 conference says it all.
I tend to agree with you. Imagine Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime, and Zelda games on a powerful system without the WiiMote... I would much rather that. For the most part, Wii's grade A titles dont really need a Wiimote. With motion plus looks like the next Zelda is trying to change that. But if swinging my arm in Twilight Princess was annoying to me... I can imagine having to actually posture up and gesture real sword strikes for this next one. I personally will pass.
Agreed. I don't look forward to waving around a glorified Wii remote for the PS3 or standing around saying, "Xbox: Open Facebook." Especially since each one of those things will run me around at least $100. I'll stick to my $50 controllers thank you.
I'm buying a Move. It's worth it (for me) just to try it with Tiger Woods '11. Plus I want to try Heavy Rain with it. The move is a $50 controller by the way.
I agree....way too expensive. I'll only consider it if it's under $100 cdn with a throw in game or 2.
the worst part about kinect are the games they're coming out of the gates with. If you're a real gamer, theres nothing there to buy. Kintectimals? Joy Ride? Sonic Riders?
I said the same thing about the Wii at its launch. Overpriced for the hardware you were getting with a sparse library of games that went against the purpose of the device. Seems to have worked out well for Nintendo.
I'll be passing on most of the motion-control stuff, especially since I'm still holding out and haven't picked up a PS3 yet. I looked at the titles for Kinect and nothing really interested me much at all. Especially at $150 bucks. Even if it's $99 it's still going to be a little steep for me to justify purchasing.
