    Offense
    QB: Tom Brady
    HB: Ronnie Brown
    FB: Lousaka Polite
    LT: Jake Long
    LG: Logan Mankins
    C: Nick Mangold
    RG: Brandon Moore
    RT: Damien Woody
    TE: Dustin Keller
    WR: Randy Moss
    WR: Brandon Marshall

    Defense
    NT: Vince Wilfork
    DE: Shaun Ellis
    DE: Ty Warren
    OLB: Calvin Pace
    ILB: Karlos Dansby
    ILB: David Harris
    OLB: Tully Banta-Cain
    CB: Darrelle Revis
    FS: Brandon Meriweather
    SS: Jim Leonhard
    CB: Leigh Bodden

    A few notes:
-Bodden over Vontae for now, but I think Davis will be better after this year.
-Jenkins is better than Wilfork when healthy. Unfortunately, Jenkins wears down during the season. Therefore, Wilfork gets the nod for the NT position.
-Randy Starks would have been starter over Warren if he didn't move to NT.
-Debated putting Ricky over Ronnie due to injury problems. Fred Jackson could be a nice pick as well.
-Jairus Byrd could be there after this season. He has to prove that last year wasn't a fluke with just getting lucky a lot. Meriweather is a really solid safety.
-Harris and Dansby are the best ILB easily.
-It really really pained me to put Long over Brick, I think I just wanted to throw you guys a bone.

Anyway, what say you? I thought this would be a good offseason thread.

Good list IMO. I think it's kind of sad that Meriweather is the best safety in our division though, going by your list. Not saying your wrong but I don't think he's very good and I'm a Canes fan. He blew a lot of assignments last year.

I agree. At the risk of sounding like a homer, I really like what I have seen and heard about Brodney Pool so far. If he can stay healthy, I think he can be really good in this defense this year.

I think that's a sleeper pickup. I think Pool said he's only had really one concussion. I don't know how true that is but something's been up with him because he's been injured. However, he's very talented. Can't be any worse than Kerry Rhodes, right? ;)

Interesting thread topic. Here's my crack at it.

    QB - Tom Brady
    RB - Ricky Williams
    FB - Lousaka Polite
    WR - Brandon Marshall
    WR - Wes Welker
    TE - Dustin Keller
    LT - Jake Long
    LG - Logan Mankins
    C - Nick Mangold
    RG - Brandon Moore
    RT - Vernon Carey

    DE - Ty Warren
    NT - Vince Wilfork
    DE - Shaun Ellis
    OLB - Tully Banta-Cain
    ILB - David Harris
    ILB - Karlos Dansby
    OLB - Calvin Pace
    CB - Darrelle Revis
    FS - Jarius Byrd
    SS - Yeremiah Bell
    CB - Leigh Bodden

For a bunch of 3-4 teams, the list at OLB is pretty depressing. Obviously there is young talent like Wake, Misi, Cunningham, Maybin, etc. that will be better in future, but when you're listing Banta-Cain and Pace...yikes.

    RG: Stephen Neal
    RT: Vernon Carey
TE: Dustin Keller (by default, TE is weak in the AFCE)
    WR: Brandon Marshall
    WR: Randy Moss

    Defense
    NT: Vince Wilfork
    DE: Ty Warren
DE: Randy Starks (I know he's an NT now, but it's my list, damnit)
    OLB: Calvin Pace
    ILB: Karlos Dansby
    ILB: David Harris
OLB: Jason Taylor (least craptastic option in a weak field, IMO)
    CB: Darrelle Revis

He claims that he is 100% healthy and that he's only had one concussion. However, he has always had problems with migraines. He says everything is good now though. We'll see.

Isn't that the same sort of sympton that Percy Harvin had last year? I remember reading an SI article a few years back about concussions and big hits. They mentioned this hit on Reggie Bush he took against Sheldon Brown:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHR31Q_a1Sc"]YouTube- Reggie Bush gets slammed[/ame]

Obviously Bush got the worst of it, but IIRC I'm pretty sure Sheldon Brown said he was totally blacked out and had no memory of the next 2-3 plays after that. It really is kinda scary just how much these guys can take and still play. Obviously Pool was pretty talented with the Browns, but you've got to wonder what's really going on.

Yes, Harvis suffers from migraines as well. I get them too, and they are horrible. There is no worse feeling in the world.

Football is a scary sport, man. Concussions especially. I think the NFL MUST institute a rule that states players have to sit out 4 weeks if you get a concussion. Then, they must get a doctor's approval to come back. I saw a special on HBO a couple months back about concussions, it was horrifying to see. So many concussions go unreported as well, just on regular plays. I'm sure some linemen get minor concussions almost every game.

Although I could have thrown more Jets in there to make this thread more interesting.

This. Minus Jim Leonhard, plus Bell. Gotta like Leonhard as a smaller guy with a football motor, but Bell's the bigger football guy with a football motor. Plus, how many 90-100+ tackle years has Jim had?

True, but it's not just the recievers, all over the field there are great players. AFC east is probably pound for pound the most talented division in football.
And if you throw the coaches in the mix it is even more crazy, Parcells, Belichick, Ryan, and even Nolan.

Wouldnt that be something. Instead of a pro bowl we made 8 all division teams that played out an extra 3 weeks after the super bowl.....

Winning division gets a pizza party!

Play 6 games in the states the first 2 weeks. Then send the finals to Hawaii. Get 6 pro bowl caliber games in 6 different stadiums giving the owners some extra cash.

Underwhelming crop of RG's in the AFCE Deej.

Brandon Moore was actually waived last season so to me, Incognito is more than likely better than Moore.

I've had this thought before and I would absolutely love it. They could play laid back pro bowl style rules and make is something the players would enjoy and look forward to.

This would also probably satisfy our hunger for a longer football season as well. Too bad it will probably never happen.

Im not completely sure id call them the most talented division in football. Honestly there's only one starting QB in the division thats truly proven themselves where in the AFC North theres Flacco, Big Ben and Carson Palmer. Also you can not find better linebackers or defensive linemen than in the AFC north with all of the players Baltimore and Pittsburgh have alone. Heck just defensive players if you throw in a few of Cincys DBs. Also, the NFC East and South have tons of talent at all positions as well.

If you want to talk coaches, the AFC East is up there with Belichick, Sparano and Ryan but there are other divisions with three coaches just as good or better (NFC South, NFC East, even the AFC South)

EDIT: Also, think about some of the talent the Vikings, Packers and Bears(defense and Qb) in the NFC North.

There was another thread talking about all division teams and we debated about the strength of one versus the other. AFC East will field a pretty impressive offensive line but at the skill positions I think the AFC South dominates. I would take Peyton over Brady, like Ronnie but CJ or MJD over him, Andre Johnson and Marshall can cancel each other out and I'd take Reggie Wayne over Moss or any other second WR, then Dallas Clark at TE. Polite still wins at FB though.
