Not only are we 32nd on rush yardage,
but we are 31st in points scored against us with 27.3,
32nd place are the Browns with 27.4

    NJ,
Any thoughts on my question? Would you recommend Cam to Michigan, yes or no?

the difference is that they have some great players left playing on their team. Our ENTIRE starting team is full of back ups. There are maybe 3 (probably wrong about the number but you get the point) positions that have the original starters left in them.

Look, I know we've had issues with injuries. I get it, it stinks. but there are reasons and excuses.

The injuries and lack of talent are the reasons we're not a playoff team. They're excuses though as to why we haven't won a game. There is no legitimate reason for this team to be winless, none. Disagree if you want, I don't care anymore.

Unless you believe this is the worst roster ever assembled in the NFL since the 1977 Bucs, we should have at least one win. The fact that we don't falls on the coaching.

I abhor rushes to judgment. Every time I see anyone make any grand claim about a rookie being a bust or a future hall of famer I roll my eyes.

People who declared Cameron a terrible coach because of the Ginn pick, or for the Trent Green move, or for preseason moves or RB as KR was mostly talking out of their ***.

And 99% of the time I am against getting rid of anyone after just one year. The 1% exception is for when a coach shows he doesn't know how to pull off a single win. You have to win games with less talent than your opponent every year if you want to make it to have success in the NFL. Every other team, and every other coach has done that this year but the Dolphins lead by Cam Cameron.

It was slim pickings last offseason for a new head coach. The Cardinals hired the guy that couldn't get promoted in Pittsburgh. Atlanta went after a college head coach despite the lesson the Dolphins learned with Saban. The Raiders couldn't even attract a college head coach, they had to settle for a college coordinator. Pittsburgh hired a young, unproven guy who had been a coordinator all of one year. The Chargers had no choice but to hand over the keys to 2 time failure Norv Turner. And the Dolphins were down to choosing between the hottest coordinator in the league and a college coach who wound up not lasting the full season in Georgia Tech.

The Dolphins best of the worst options was Cameron. This year should be treated as nothing more than an on the job interview. And with 13 losses in 13 games. No promise from John Beck as the heir apparent (though obviously too soon to declare anything but we don't know) Why would should Huizenga choose to re-hire Cam for another season? Especially with proven commodities, Cowher and 2 losing seasons in 22 years of coaching Marty Schottenheimer.

If the Dolphins can't land one of these coaches, then I'm less inclined to fire Cam. I don't want to fire him for the sake of firing him. And I don't want to scrap this mistake just to make the same one again. A bad coach in his second year is better than a new bad coach in his first. But that would still be contingent on the whether or not Cam has already lost this team. It is starting to look like he has.

This is nothing but a huge contradiction to your point that Capers is to blame, and another shameless example of lowering the bar for Cam.

Actually, put a good QB on last years team (The team that shutout the Pats, beat the Bears badly), and they are in the playoffs, so it was not that far off to think they might still be a good QB away from being in the playoffs again this year.

New HC (W/ new Offensive), The defense regressed, and Capers did not do as good a job this year....add to that the unending amounts of injuries, and this team was in trouble before it even started.

I don't know. I hate Michigan and know nothing of their program. I also don't know how Cameron recruits or how he deals with 20 year olds. College and NFL is a completely different game.

Why should we have one win? Because it is standard? Where and how would we get this win?

Give me a game where our talent(lol?) matches up as close to even as possible to another teams talent. Analyze what and why. Then come back and give me an answer.

    You wrote this

Which blamed it all on coaching. And if all of Dom's personnel decisions were so obviously wrong from the fan's standpoint, why couldn't Cam see it too? Why hasn't Cam used his authority as head coach, just like Dick Saban, to tell his coordinator to make changes?

But when I make the claim that Cam should be held accountable for the defense too since he is the head coach, not just the O-coordinator you blamed it all on the talent.

If Dom is making dumb personnel mistakes, not using Porter as a pass rusher etc. why hasn't the head coach put his foot down and force changes? Weak leadership maybe?

    Ermm...I'm tired and had a long day and I don't feel like coalescing your argument enough to respond with a counterargument. So all just answer your questions;

    A. I'm sure he does see it. What drives you to think he is oblivious to the problems on defense? Much more likely, he, as a completely offensive minded person, doesn't have the answer. Anybody can see when things aren't working, finding the answer and the fix is left the experts when it comes to NFL defenses.

    B. Saying "make changes" doesn't do much when both sides of the party don't know what changes to make.

I'm not sure if it was you, but somebody mentioned Linehan and 2005. Saban didn't walk into his office and say "stop sucking" and thus made Linehan think "okay, time to get to business." Linehan had a plan, it wasn't working perfectly. Things developed and progressed and the players and coaches adjusted until, ultimately, things started to work at the end of the season.

In our situation, a; we are left with less tools to work with then Linehan in 2005. b; Capers hasn't developed and progressed his system to the point where we are winning games because of it.

3rd time and you're still missing the point. Tired?

    Either Capers has
A made obvious mistakes, playing players out of position, blitzing wrong guys etc. or
B he has his hands tied because the talent isn't there, or
C he has made mistakes that only a defensive expert could recognize or fix.

You laid the blame at Capers feet for the Defense. But blame talent where Cam should be accountable.

Not using Porter as a pass rusher has been every fans easy gripe. And you used that as an example to support your point that "Dom f'd up the defense" Unless you are a defensive expert, why don't you expect Cam to fix what fans can see on TV and from the stands? I never claimed that Cam does or doesn't see it. But if it is an obvious mistake that fans can see on the field, then Cam should be able to see it too.

Capers and Cam have less tools to work with on defense than Linehan and Saban had on offense in 05?
