You are doing what you need to do. That is very good!

I am not sure a realistic goal is to be off the meds entirely. It may well be that you have an imbalance and you will need the meds to stay on a level plain. It would be the same as taking meds for diabetes or thyroid. Instead of regulating your pancreas they would be regulating your brain chemistry. I take meds for hypertension and to protect against gout and cholesteral every day. You learn to be thankful for them intead of resenting them.

    Continued best wishes!

the dr. said they'd call if they found something. they didn't call. i'm due to see them tuesday, so theoretically there's still monday, but something is telling me a blood/urine test would have been back in the office by now.

i'm scheduled to see a different dr. at the same place, so i'm worried there may be a miss in communication.

i keep thinking i should relax but this is really annoying. it doesn't hurt so much as it bothers me i have to keep getting up to go and then i get there and not much is there.. or i go and it stings just a bit.

i wanted to get tested for diabetes but they said from my CBC that my glucose levels were normal. i've heard that's not indicative for a lack of diabetes.

i'm worried that this is all in my head. i told them everything as honest as possible and they said they'd call so i have to believe them. if it were something real serious i'd like to think that the dr. wouldn't keep me waiting a week and would call and tell me to go to the hospital.

Among the tests on a cbc is a hemoglobin test. It is THE best indicator for diabetes. If that came back OK, you are fine regarding diabetes. As a former type II diabetic, I remember those things.

Talk to the doc Tuesday about the urinary conditions but otherwise try to enjoy your weekend. You have been given lots of good news!

Just be patient bro. **** happens, labs get backed up, have malfunctioning equipment, etc. It could be anything. Relax for now, wait till your appointment. If the doctor is telling you a cbc is good enough then assume it is. After all man thats why you go to a doctor and not the next door neighbor right.

    anlgp,

I know I'm late to the thread. I also suffer from health anxiety. It's more common than you may think. Anyway, hopefully your visits to the doctor has eased your anxiety. If not, here's a book that has helped me a bit, and maybe it can do the same for you -

They found protein in my urine, and I have a swollen epididiymis on one side. she gave me antibiotics for the protein, and i'm going to have my kidneys/scrotum ultra sounded a week from tomorrow. most of the common things that causes epididymitis/orchitis (which is what she has on the sheet here) i have been tested for and they have been ruled out, so i'm kind of freaking out.

my blood pressure is 136/80 and my resting heart rate is 146. :omg:

out of everything here i would say she is most concerned about my heart rate. she grilled me several times as to whether or not i'm on drugs (i'm not except prescribed).. i guess because it's high. i have been drinking caffeine recently, and have been anxious because of this other stuff, but.. seems it's going to be an issue she wants to get under control.

i'll update after the ultra sounds and stuff.

    oh.

i also got bloodwork done to see if i have an overactive thyroid, which runs in my family..

    at any rate..

Keep peeling the layers of onion back and the truth will be found. A methodical approach is very good.

As to the high heart rate, I cut out the caffenine and dropped mine from the 120 range to the 80's. Your body may react to caffenine the way mine did and you will need to avoid it.

    Continued prayers and best wishes.

no wonder why you heart rate is elevated, you are worried about **** you cannot control, just let the doctors do their jobs

great, now ill have you ***** on my mind

    thanks bud

(you have been in my prayers bro), seeing all kinds of specialists suck, but one thing for sure, atleast you are on the right path. if there is anything, they will find it, monitor it, and bring you to some sort of level of normalcy (if thats possible for you :p)

hit me up if you need - we will compare notes

thanks. mentally i'm like a rollercoaster ride.. physically i'm less worried but still slightly concerned, but i'm trying to do what i can for both.

yeah as all this has gone along it has kind of been narrowed down to where at least they kind of know what's going on, but the possibilities are still frightening on both physical and mental levels.

i just had some sort of feeling cross my mind and i'm not sure if i want it there or not

at any rate, thanks all. feelin' like it's gonna be one of those strange days. can't really describe it. i'm trying to keep occuiped by learning music theory. i'm taking apart a song and trying to learn how to play it by ear. it's a major pain in my *** but it keeps the focus off other things and i think that's what i need right now.

i should probably take my medications now.. i gotta go back to school in about a week with all this rolling along. c'est la vie i suppose

Do not use "urologist" and "suck" in the same sentence. The two images make me queasy! :wink2:

just got lab results in the mail. don't want'em, really, because i have no idea what these mean, but:

red blood count high - 5.82 (5.60 end of reference interval)
    hemoglobin high - 17.2 (17.0)
    hematocrit 50.5
    glucose, serum 100 (99)

it says "high" in black and white so i'm not just guessing. i left a message for my doc to call me back because i don't understand but in the meantime

    :omg:

They are a little outside the norm. Not much but high none the less. Interesting that they are all up a little. Could be a reaction to some med you are on or something else. Hopefully your doctor will be able to give you an answer. Stay at it. I would tell you not to worry but then they aren't my results. The only thing I can say is we remain here for you!

Excuse the language, but I ****ing hate hypochondria. I'm a self-diagnosed hypochondriac but let's run through my medical proceedures in the last few months, shall we? Here's open-ness and honesty.

    ER, Complete Blood Count. Normal.
    HIV, etc. Normal.
Complete Blood Count w/different palettes (for kidneys due to protein). Normal.
Ultrasound, kidneys/scrotum. Don't know, but haven't heard back. I'm guessing that means I probably shouldn't call their office and ask
Urologist. She said my urine is concentrated and I need to drink fluids. Check. Pain has subsided since, and otherwise than that...
Vision. Perscription changed slightly, but eyes are fine and about as "healthy as they can be".

I'm 130 pounds right now, and I haven't been eating as well as I should be. I'm 5'8''. I've been sleeping like absolute **** and not eating well the past few weeks. There's so much stress going on for me in certain areas of life that make it hard for me to remember to eat. I walk 5 miles on tuesdays and thursdays, and I'm going to lift Sun/Tues/Thurs. So i KNOW I need to eat well. I've also been monitoring my heart rate for anxiety and I'd liike to start tracking my eating and sleeping schedules.

I think since I'm on medicaid (caid/care?) I'll look up a nutritionist. It'll be paid for :) Thank god for therapy :D
