http://www.miamidolphins.com/aquavision/album/2010-mini-camp-day-2 #3 With Marshall and Turner is kinda funny. Channing Crowder and BMarsh one is kinda tragic...Channing did not take his offseason work seriously, in 08 he was cut up in 2010..well..you'll see.
Dude has a beer gut man.. With Channing that is a really bad sign, in 08 he was ripped, in 09 a touch flabby, in 2010...dude looks like me...that ain't good in a ILB..
Henne looks so good man, his lats, his waist, he's gonna be much lighter on his feet, even quicker in his drop.....very proud of the cat for trying to master his craft mentally, and physically...This man being in this kind of shape, means great things for us. lol, its like he's becoming the perfect specimen for a proset qb.. The mind of chad pennington, and the arm of chad henne is so nice to imagine coming together.
oh my god with the players body shape again. jesus christ padre. please show me a photo where channings stomach was "cut up" the dude ALWAYS looks like that. you guys are wayyyyyy too much into looking at these dudes bodys.......need to look at some maxim magazines or some ****
lol...its a big deal in professional sports imo. athletes who dont maximize their bodies for their sport, lose a lot of respect in my eyes...crowder is one of them..
It might just be me but in every picture ive seen of Ricky in camp this year he looks in outstanding shape and just the most focused ive ever seen him. Ronnie didnt look to bad in the one picture either.
oh good, so if thats the case.....brady quinn is gunna be the greatest qb of alltime! Look out marino!!!!! sigh
For someone with a sports radio show this type of comment surprises me. Seriously Sick. A players body shape says A LOT about them. 1) If a player is flabby it shows that they are NOT dedicating themselves to workout programs AND are not interested in being the absolute best they can be. It is a clear sign of commitment level. 2) Are you really going to tell me a players shape does not affect his effectiveness on the field? It's not everything clearly. There are many physical specimens that did not make it in pro sports because they didn't have the skills. However, being a top pro athlete demands skill plus being at a top physical shape. A Select few athletes are so talented that they can outplay their lack of dedication to strength and conditioning. Id say it's safe to say Crowder is NOT one of those rare athletes. To me it's not surprising at all. Crowder has never wowed and this very thing may play a big part of it. 3) If a player lacks the dedication level to maximize his physical condition as a professional being paid millions of dollars to play a game then you also have to question his overall dedication to preparation for games as well. Crowder has admitted in the media that he's not a film room guy. Why not? DEDICATION. I think the state of his physical condition says alot about why Crowder is always the topic of talks about a player that everyone seems has not reached his potential.
QB and kicker are about the only 2 positions where you could argue it dosen't matter that much. This comparison is irrelevant for this discussion IMO. Although the pic is funny. Only QB in the NFL that roids probably.
of course body shape matters. but my point is the difference is ridiculously minimal that its pointless to discuss. its may. if crowder has a bit of a flab....itll be gone by september. Its just reaching on slow news days....and it gets tiresome when guys say "henne has good deltoids hes gunne be better this year" like that REALLY holds any water. its important. but when the difference is 5-10 pounds in may......its reaching.
not to mention you don't know how the player is lifting and what their goals are. If a player for instance is going for strength training it is fathomable that he would not be cut as he is not working high rep to build strength.
exactly, i mean its been widely reported and mentioned by many players that everyone attended workouts all off season. so if crowder really is "out of shape" then we should be worried about our teams workout program......not crowder.
thats funny, but you know it's a blatent generalization. I know this, you gettin paid millions, to play a sport, and your not training your body to a science, well then, imo, your not doing whats best for your own performance, and the teams performance..no matter who you are, it apply's on some negative level. Muscles will not hide the inadequecies of Brady Quinn. but boy, he sure did try.
Brilliant move on his part...... job and career on the line and he shows up looking like he's in his third trimester
Err..no. Channing broke his foot, the only thing he could do is lift and watch his diet, he did not watch his diet...dude hopefully delivers before training camp though.
it is a big difference when someone is working to steal your job and dobbins seems to be doing just that. we have heard sparano say they have had their eye on dobbins for a while now which tells me they were looking to replace crowder. especially now that we added dansby. looks to me like channing felt comfortable during the offseason and didn't really do the right things to take care of his body and didn't expect competition. we draft edds to play nickel linebacker which limits crowder's role even further. now he is coming off the injury and is out of shape. i doubt he will be directly penciled in as he expected
He doesn't have a gut. If you look at the line his shirt would follow if it were longer his stomach does not go beyond the line. It looks like he as a gut because the shirt is cut short.
sparano saying they have been looking at dobbins for awhile could be related to crowder. or they could have been looking at him for a replacement of ayodele before dansby became an option. neither of us know. but its def. not a guarantee as to anything correlating with crowder.... i dont get the love for dobbins. the guys a filler in san diego and now hes gunna unseat our defensive captain and kick him to the curb? lol. just like the most popular player is always the backup qb......we'll see what happens. but i disagree that 5-10 pounds means alot. IF he is even 5-10 pounds over weight......no one knows that for sure either. this is all based on a picture
I'm serious Pads. Look long at the pic carefully. Does he have a 6 pack? No but he doesn't have a gut, just a relatively flat stomach. The shirt makes it look deceiving. Also I haven't seen an article yet that talks about Crowder coming into camp overweight.
Nah, the bottom seam of the shirt is flush on the top of his gut. I'm surprised no one has picked up on Pat Turner reading Brandon Marshall's small piece of paper..sorta peeking at his notes as it were. And as far as I can tell, Turner is the only one sporting a diamond earring.
Body for QB's matters less than other positions. Look at Roethlesberger, guy has a body that looks like a fan in the stands, but he wins.
crowder is getting pushed for his job and it is long overdue... seen five seasons from him and they were average. maybe you are okay with that not me. the picture means nothing . whether you like dobbins or not doesn't mean a thing. the FO likes him LB position across the board is being re-tooled as it should be. easy to see really
errrrrrrrrr, yes. Your diet changes depending on how you are training. Pretending we know just what his goals are is just arrogance really.
Why in the world would Crowder wear a shirt like that with his gut hanging out there. He needs his mom to help him dress. (Look son you show it off only if it looks good other wise hide it and make them wonder.)
Beer, gummy bears, ribs, cake, mountain dews. Keep the feet above the head while kicking back. Crowder needs to go on Ricky Williams diet he would look like he cared about his pro football career.
You're killing me with this. Seriously. Maybe its just a bad angle for Crowder and he hasn't gained any flab. I can at least consider that POV. The view you just presented though is really out there. To even suggest that the training goal of ANY NFL LB would EVER be to add body flab is beyond absurd. An athlete does not train to add flab they train to add healthy muscle weight. Were not talking about a NT here. Any strength and conditioning coach that presented such a plan should be shown the door immediately.
That's not a beer gut. That's a fuel tank for his mouth. I haven't heard him mouth off as much as of late so he has some surplus.
Lets blame the team for what Crowder eats and drinks when not working out. While were at it lets blame the Dolphiuns for Crowders poor play last season. Instead of making excuses for players isn't it time for them to step up
yeah thats what i was doing. read it again. it was a hypothetical to counter a hypothetical about crowder supposedly being "out of shape" based on one picture. even though hes been at all the teams workouts. crowder was injured last season playing next to a guy we eventually cut. channing has never been a good #1 ilb. but he was good next to ZT and will be good next to dansby.
I think you guys need to look at bodybuilders in the offseason . When they go high calorie, high protein to pack on pounds before they cut up. Here, heres a couple of more smilies for you
speaking of reaching you have no idea if crowder will be better next to dansby you are just reading what the media is telling you. channing has no structure to his game at all so there is a possibility that when he has a real good linebacker beside him that his weaknesses will be further exposed. that is if he even gets on the field other than chasing punts returners on special teams. crowder and sparano both said he needed to stop just running around in there and adhere to a system then he goes out and stinks it up in '09. he is going to be replaced real soon because we want playmakers not someone who thinks the job deserves to be his. channing crowder is a lie, always has been a lie, and always will be a lie. anyone who believes in him getting better is a complete fool.
Crowder has shown that next to a better ILB, he elevates his play. When he was paired with ZT, he played very well. Perhaps that was because ZT played at a much higher level that he made up for CCs deficiencies, but the fact is that next to a better ILB, his play was better so the idea that he might have a better year next to Dansby isn't that far fetched. That said, I agree with you that picking up Dobbins is more than just "to add competition" for the spot next to Dansby. Dobbins is as good a thumper as CC and plays the pass a bit better...Whether he's quite as good as CC remains to be seen. But CC had a horrible year in 2009 and must rebound or he will be on the sidelines or even somewhere else in 2010. That said, his greatest weakness has been his inconsistency. In his contract year, he played very, very well. After that.... In his first year he played well along side of ZT, but when Thomas left he was back to mediocre again. He's not quite as bad as you make him sound. He's not chopped liver...he can play...whether he has the commitment and ability to stay healthy is another story...
