Thanks TI for posting this article, because I had absolutely no idea. I remember Jake Scott as a great player on the No Name Defense. And, I have the vaguest of recollections of him being traded to Washington. So, now it all makes sense. All I can say is I'm glad they found a way to make amends. I will say that the older I get, the more I realize the importance of forgiveness, and checking your own ego at the door. Life is just too short. On a side note, I especially enjoyed this part of the article, as it goes to the toughness that defines the Dolphins of the early 70's.

Thanks so much TI. Damn, that brings warmth to my heart and a tear to my eyes. Jake Scott is as good as they come , he should be in the Hall and for heavens sake lets get him in the ring.

It is so right that the # 13 be worn by only those two guys (Jake and Dan) and never to take the field again!

Unless this somehow helps the Phins win 12 games this year, this is my care face:

It's a real crime why Jake Scott isn't in the Hall of Fame. Deion Sanders could have watched Jake to learn how a d-back is supposed to tackle.

Even more impressively, he has the highest Interception/game ratio than any player in the last 50 years.

One of my two heros on the Phins when I was a kid. Larry Csonka was the other.

Maybe this is why we haven't won a super bowl since the 70s. Our curse may be broken.

....or it was just that $h*tty defense during the Marino years.

*EDIT* Oh wait, he also wore number 13...I think I've figured it out. There was a curse. We're now ready to move on. Your welcome.

Just (finally) got a chance to read this. Many thanks Surferosa for posting it. All I can say is you're right...I had absolutely no idea what a total bad-*** Jake Scott was/is. And, he is as deserving as any to be in the Ring of Honor IMHO. Hopefully, it will get done one day. But, honestly...I don't think it matters much to him one way or the other. Definitely a free spirit and one cool dude.

Awesome news for two of the greatest Dolphins to ever represent the Fins. I'm showing my age but I was a fan during the days of the Jake Scott teams and he was truly a great player, he could teach the current players something about attitude and intensity.
