Havent seen Gone with the Wind either, been meaning to for a while though. Saw Rear Window yesterday so I can cross that off my list. Another good Hitch****/James Stewart movie.
I've never seen Titanic, nor will I. I haven't seen Gone With the Wind, and I don't think I have seen Scarface. I have seen the Godfather, but I was so young I really don't know much of it.
I have actually seen the end of that film. Why the hell didnt Leo get on the raft with Kate Winslett? Looked like there was room...confusing
Touche. They could have made it actually ABOUT the Titanic instead of a dumbass love story, but I guess that would be boring...
that would be a little more manly, and thus more interesting to ME. The best part of the movie was Jack and whatsherface getting it on in the car in the cargo hold!
way to reply so fast, that now that i re-quoted you correctly, everything is screwed up. this whole day is RUINED!!!!
One of my goals in life is to die without ever watching the Titanic. I haven't seen Rocky either. That movie was made for people with attention spans and love rape. Well I was just told he raped Adrienne. I do not really care still. I tend to try to not watch movies before the 80s. They take forever to start their point and not enough expolsions. I haven't seen the Godfather movies.
Man the only movie I can think of is Sound of Music and I know i saw it in school or something so I have no idea......
Yeah, I have no intention to see Harry Potter, but I think the thread was more with regard to well-known classic films rather than recent big budget assembly-line junk. Contrary to popular belief, by the way, The Godfather is really overrated.
Those weren;t Cavariccis...I owned Cavariccis...hammer's were like parachutes. Cavariccis were just loose on the legs. Not that baggy.
Oh, DM ... you have to see Casablanca. First of all, it's iconic visually. Secondly, you'll be amazed at all the pop culture references you recognize but didn't realize had their origins in "Casablanca." On my list: Godfather Schindler's List Sunset Boulevard Lawrence of Arabia (I actually am anxious to see it) Se7en (I'm afraid to admit I've heard too many tales of just how disturbing it is, and I like disturbing.) On the Waterfront Touch of Evil High Noon Ben Hur Spartacus Gone With the Wind
I have to say that list is a bit depressing. So many great movies. Swing by the apartment in Long Beach and I'll hook you up with several of them. Se7en is a great movie, disturbing but well done so it isnt over the top or unwatchable imo.
I don't think there are a lot of must-see movies, especially the modern movies are not. We know most them but there are some diamonds from the past everyone should see because they were milestones. Casablanca is one them. I think Ben Hur is another one. These are not my favourite movies. I personally like se7en more but I would rate the other two higher on a list of must-sees since they were milestones (though se7en is very special). In the modern area of action movies I would call Die Hard a milestone. Again, not the best movie but a milestone.
I've never seen any of the "Godfather" movies. Pulp Fiction Either of the "Lord Of The Rings" movies. Schindler's List Goodfellas I guess those are big ones.
I knew there was either 2 or 3 of them. I just can't get into fantasy movies with magic rings, enchanted forests and such.
How do people go without seeing the Godfather? It's such a pop culture phenom, you'd think it would make one at least a little curious about what all the talk is about.
