Well except if you're playing Techmo Bowl for the NES and keep giving the ball to Bo Jackson up the middle. But otherwise yes.
This summs it up. I cant like a sport in which people could juice all they want, and all the records (or most of them) are held by juicers. Sticks and stones. He is the all time home-run leader. From what I understand, the Holy Grail of baseball.
Simon, Hitting a baseball is single-handedly the hardest thing to do in sports... well except for maybe this.... Only games 4, 5, 6 and 7 since the first 3 games were pretty boring and uneventful. Seriously though if you really want to watch some good intense pressure filled baseball you should watch the 2003 ALCS Game 7, 2004 ALCS Game 4 and 2004 ALCS Game 5.
Baseball to British people is like what Cricket is for Americans...it doesn't make sense and you'll probably never like it. But at least we have hot dogs and beer so even if you don't understand the game you can enjoy yourself.
I could care less about that.....kudos to you guys for doing it....I take my 5 championships that I have seen anyday.....
I can watch baseball every day, all day, and not get bored. I'll even watch a minor league game if it's on TV. Right now I'm watching the Yankees/Sox on one TV, Mets/Giants on another and Cubs/Reds on my computer.
Quote on baseball from Jimmy Dugan in "A League of Their Own". "It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard...is what makes it great."
Another very important aspect of baseball........there is no salary cap. Or salary floor. As you might imagine, this gives certain big market teams an inherent advantage in player acquisition. Which makes it easy to root against them. Last year the Yankees won the World Series with a $201 million payroll. $52 million more than the next closest team (New York Mets) and $165 million more than the Marlins. There is a luxury tax in place the past few years. But again... Which is why it's great when a team like the 2003 Marlins wins it all by beating the Yankees. The first thing you should do is pick a team, obviously. You need to support a team if you really want to be interested in it. Since you are a Dolphins fan, the logical thing to do is support the Marlins.
