Is the greatest show ever! I was reading an article on worstpreviews.com the other day about Jason Bateman saying Arrested Development Movie is not dead, well its always been a show i wanted to watch but never got around to it. So the last week I decided to watch the whole series on Netflix, and wow, the show was way before its time. Its ashame it only has 3 seasons, but those three seasons are better than most comedy's that lasted more than 3 season, ie Yes Dear! The inside jokes were amazing, like Henry Winkler jumping the shark again, the references they used, the foreshadowing, like Buster's arm. The show is just so smart, and maybe thats why it never took off ratings wise. This show should still be on the Air! I really hope they do this movie!
Aw, I thought this was a thread for the best show ever created. Wait, never mind. It is. I've made a huge mistake...
I'll be shocked if a movie is ever made, but extremely happy if it is. With that being said, as much as I loved the show I'm glad it ended when it did as Season 3 wasn't nearly as good as Seasons 1 or 2 and I'm really not sure where else they could have taken the story to keep it now only fresh but very funny too. They stuck to a main storyline/plot all 3 seasons and it was paid off very well.
GOB is one of my favorite characters ever. "Coca, coca, coca!" "Has anyone in this family ever actually seen a chicken?!?"
Unrelated: "'Illusions', Michael. A trick is something a whore turns for money... *children stare in awe ...or candy."
i was watching it the other day and realized how brilliant the idea of having george Sr.'s twin brother as a character in the show as a way to always be able to use jeffrey tambor even though george sr. is almost always hdden away or locked up. just brillian i have to say that tobias is the funniest to me.
Well, they figured Buster needed a father figure at all times... And I’m afraid I prematurely shot my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run if you will, so I’m afraid I have something of a mess on my hands.
IFC has been playing the entire series over the past month or so. I had always heard great things about the show from respected sources. So I decided to give it a shot and everyone was right. Its freaking brilliant. Every character is great but I think Gob is my favorite. Nearly everything he does and says cracks me up. I can't wait to watch it over again. I bet there is a bunch of stuff I missed the first time through. Plus some guy in a $3000 dollar suit told me to buy the series on dvd. How can I not trust the word of a guy wearing a $4000 dollar suit?
They should pull a Family Guy and try to bring the show back. If the guy who plays George Michael doesn't try to big time them or anything.
Yeah there's definitely things you'll miss the first time around. I probably watched the entire series about 4 times and even now I pick up on little things that I missed. It was a very smart show from the writing stand point and even small themes they hinted on/foreshadowed earlier in the series were brought back, I love stuff like that.
its about the densest comedy i have ever seen. just about every line is joke. thats why it never gets old. very little wasted dialogue
I really miss this show. The only reason I like Juno was that it had part of the same cast.
