Which player's dad has a close personal relationship with somebody on staff? That's who the geniuses will draft.

I'm not knocking Ginn with that, either. I'm glad the kid is showing promise. That still doesn't justify the apparent reason for picking him.

Any statement made about the draft in public can't be taken for 100% They obviously didn't take the best player available at 9 otherwise Akoye or Willis would be here.

You didnt read the qoute because randy says you take the best player if you have the top 5 pick

So all of a sudden that changes between top 5 and top 10? I don't think so. Don't believe everything you read cause there isn't a chance in hell McFadden will be here.

Good point. My prediction for the draft is we try to make McFadden look like our obvious choice and then hit the phones in hope of trading out. Kind of like Saban tried to do when we had the #2 pick.

I bet it will be just as successful as it was back then, too. There aren't too many idiots running NFL personnel departments outside of the Miami metro area.

Well it seems out of the top 5 anything can change for the rest of the draft and hey mybe ted ginn was the best player available you might say he wasnt but you'd be saying that just because of all the other needs on the team.

Nah I think it was quite clear that Willis was the best player left on the boards at that time, but we still had Zach so they passed. They did however need a WR. Heck they need another now this offseason with Chambers gone.

You can just about guarantee that due to when the draft is, Randy Mueller will be in his current office when the pick gets handed down. Our only hope comes in him becoming a glorified middle manager a la what happened to Spielman (unjustly IMHO in Spielman's case).

I'm not positive, but I think Childress has the final say over personnel matters. Spielman is with the team and is in the GM position, though. The issue is who has final say.

Jake Long is a guy whose going to slide and be a RT in this league. So far Finheaven's draft guru's think Ryan Clady is going to be the consensus LT that will enter the top 5 come draft day.

I think that was the only thing I got right as far as last years draft. I called it months ahead and said Levi Brown would never make it to Miami's draft spot. Back when people were questioning whether he would even be Top 15.

Ummm, has anybody tought Randy might not be here come next year. I mean he has not done a bad job, but he really dropped the ball on guys like Porter, Martin and Liweinski. Also, im still worried about Beck who has struggled alot in the last three games and has not done anything to make you say ,wow.

Seems like Randy's just putting out a principle about drafting in the early rounds, sounds like most other GMs, what's not to believe?

In an audio last week, he also mentions that he looks for great speed and large size...again, just another draft principle...so looking back to last year's draft, it's obvious he had Ginn his BPA because of his superior speed.

How did that work out for him? You do not play stupid games like this no one is dumb anymore and those types of trades are not going to happen. The best thing we do is Draft Mcfadden Trade Ronnie if you can or we just have two incredible backs with pass catching abilities.

If the Patriots do end up picking second, the Dolphins may not have to convince anyone that McFadden is going to be the pick. Other teams will have to trade for the #1 pick if they want McFadden. There will be suitors for that, and if we have to take a little less than what the chart suggests, I'm ok with it. This team needs a lot of talented players, not just one guy, and we all know it.

I hope Mueller means it about taking BPA. There's no unit on the Dolphins so strong that it couldn't use a(nother) talented player. That includes our running back corps, which will have Ronnie coming back from surgery, a second year back that has barely seen playing time, and a comeback player who is worthless as a receiver and ran out of gas as the season wore on.

Yea, And let's hope he doesn't blow it. Ginn is fine and all, but he's still not worth the #9 overall pick.

It's called playing the game. If you say over and over in the media that you are goign to pick the guy that everybody wants, they bite.

Randy is as good as it is going to get around here, I have faith in him. Our last draft is going to end up looking pretty good. We definitely need more bodies, but McFadden is not a bad addition to any roster, period. I would lock into him as our pick so anybody that covets him knows it’s going to cost them. If we have to take him, great. He won’t make this team worse, that’s for sure. If we solidify the line it would really help every aspect of offense. We aren’t that far off with Beck, McFadden, Ginn, Satelle, Booker, etc. A couple players on defense and this team wins a lot more games pretty fast.

Ronnie is worth more than just Roy Williams, especially since Detroit has Calvin Johnson. Mike Furrey is a pretty underrated receiver, too. Roy Williams is a pretty fantastic player, though, and he would fit right in on this team: he's young, knows the system, and has great character.

A lot of GMs will pay lip service to the BPA theory but when it comes down to crunchtime they often are pressured to make their picks on need.

They can always justify their picks later with a myriad of reasons.I wouldnt pay much attention to it.

How can you tell a National Football League G.M. is talking about the draft? All G.M.'s start lying...

He's lying his butt off. They all do it...

McFadden is not the pick. If it is not Dorsey, Long or a trade down I'm quitting.

A trade down, Chris Long, Ryan Clady or Matt Ryan. RDE, LOT and QB are the only positions worthy of overall first pick. All of them have the skills to warrant the selection. Any other pick and things will be broken LOL
