Well we haven't been anywhere close with our first 3 picks so I won't pretend I have any idea today. I'll just sit back and wait, oh hell we just traded up.
Yeah, it doesn't seem as if the FO watched our safeties play last season. And of course by "play" I mean "suck."
I think we can stop asking that at this point. Either they are quite comfortable with Culver and Clemons or have something else planned for our FS position, whether it be trade or FA veteran. Besides, would you really expect a late 4th round safety to be first week starting caliber anyway? They look to be taking BPA and getting hard worker, beastly types
BPA is fine, but we do still have to have someone playing in every position. It's great to hope you can pick someone up later on, but it's hardly a sure thing.
Much of that maligned saftey play was due to gibril wilson being out of position or just flat out sucking. Simply removing him made our safties 10 fold better
and on top of all that, it just sets us up as being able to draft S Rahim Moore out of UCLA early next year. Kid's middle name is TALENT.
There may not be a season next year. I wouldn't count on anything happening after this season because we just don't know.
Very nice pick with edds. excellent in coverage and above average vs the run. Should help on special teams some as a rookie too.
Re: ~Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread~ yes, and I like his potentional, but can't see him as a SOLB. Sent from my Eris using Tapatalk

As I said, it's great to hope we can pick up another player at safety, but as experience has shown us, it's by no means a sure thing.
There Akwasi goes... mark my words Dallas just got a very good player who will likely be their new FS. Atleast it wasnt the Pats or Jets I suppose.
There is a reason why we have past up on safeties so far. Perhaps they are happy going into the season with who we have or have a plan for latter in the draft or cuts or Sharper or so forth. Way to early to hit the panic button imo.
There's a reason, but that doesn't mean it's a good reason. I know you've been a Fin fan for a long time, Dennis...surely you have the experience to know why this sort of thing is depressing.
Logically, there is no reason to assume there will be a talented free safety we can pick up on waivers or free agency. It's a crapshoot. While the draft is also a crapshoot, at least you have more choices...we could have picked up a safety in any of the four rounds in which we've picked.
