yeah I've looked for bargains, but I can only look within a 1 island radius. There are no offers for wood.

 

Yep... I need to get my trading post to a level 4 so that I can search further out. Noone in my neighborhood seems to be willing to trade...

 

i think you can put a wanted ad out too or just send pms to the closest wood island

Click on your town hall and you will see a button to rename your town.

Just click on your town hall, and teh screen that loads, look for the rename button.

OK... I have had a situation where I sent a ship to pick up wood that I purchased and it has left their port empty... What is the cause of this? Was I bent over the railing and assaulted?

If so, this guy will FEEL MY WRATH!!!

 

Are you sure its empty? If not then he might be under a blockade OR maybe he sold out or you didn't have enough cash.Its automated so he couldn't bend you over the rail lol

 

it just means someone beat you to the punch..their ship got there before yours and took all the wood .

 

Some native cultures arent as open to different cultures. Next time you pull in to port make sure your crew isnt wearing gold hot pants and dancing to the blaring music of the Village People

Try and keep your academy fully staffed. (makes research faster)

Research Economy in the academy all the way through "wine press"(will let you mine your luxury resource and build taverns to keep your people happy)

Research Seafaring all the way through "Foreign Cultures". (will let you be able to trade with other people and to join our alliance)

quick question. I've researched Seafaring all the way through Expansion. THe library shows that Foreign Cultures is supposed to be next in line, however, when I check on my research, its showing that I am researching Espionage. I even clicked change to go back to seafaring, and it still researches seafaring:espionage.

WTF?

it automaticly picks your next research when you go to change it gives you a few option based on what you are able to study at that time you can pull off of one and work on another and not lose your progress

 

Espionage is required to learn Foreign Cultures. It will automatically go to Seafaring after you learn espionage.

 

But if I click on my academy, it shows that I am researching Seafaring. (which should be foriegn cultures which is next in order). When I click to see what field I am in fact researcing, it shows Seafaring(Espionage). There isn't an Espionage field under Seafaring, which is my predicament. If I click on Espionage, it shows it under the field of Science, not Seafaring.
