    I know im in the minority here Im sure but I hate these types of deals. Moving down is stupid as hell most of the time..

    SO instead of getting a 95% lock STUD (immediately starting caliber player) for a position of need on a defense that is the weakest link now.. We trade to #24 meaning the sure fire studs are gone and now your getting second round talent who may or may not be a stud eventually.

    This team needs playmakers If we can get a good player at #12 we need to do it.. Way to many holes this year and I have no doubt were going to suffer this year again do to the defense.

    That's fine with me, I can see Ryan Matthews an option there, if they feel they can move Ronnie...maybe get back that 2nd rounder from next year...

    This draft is very deep, especially at OLB and we have plenty of holes to fill.

    I'd rather 24, 55, and 87 but I'd take 24 and 37.

    God I hope we can still get Hughes or Graham at 24.

    Would highly highly consider Golden Tate at 37.

    Mike Mayock just said the Eagles want Earl Thomas and would need to get to 12-14 to take him.

    I agree that we need playmakers but as you said we also have too many holes. At the very least we need two starters out of this draft at SOLB and FS, and that's assuming Wake and Ferg/Soliai/Late Rounder can hold it down at WOLB and NT respectively. If you can pick up extra picks in the top 80, especially in this deep draft, you have to if you're us IMO.

    I think the FO knows this, which is why they acquired Dansby and Marshall to be the playmakers on both sides of the ball in the hopes of trading down and picking up solid starters at positions of need.

    Not only is this draft deep...but that 35th pick in the 2nd round will probably = getting first round talent for 2nd round price. That is deep! It is crucial for us to have a 2nd this year and it also means that so far we would have only given up a 2nd next year for Marshall and we would have moved up in the 2nd round this year.

    Works for me!

    First thing that popped in my head. Phins move back draft Mathews, add a high second trade Ronnie for a high 3rd and all of a sudden we got Marshall, got younger at RB and picked up two high picks.

    Im not a trade Ronnie advocate but it wouldnt be a horrible scenario.

    Odds are Berry won't make it past Cleveland. Thomas though should be there at 12, mainly because there will a run on OL ahead of that. I would love for us to have Thomas...but I would love for us to trade down and get back a high 2nd (plus whatever else) in return even more!

    24 we could get a safety, 35 we could get Mt. Cody.

    Would be nice...but I think the Chargers are going to do whatever they need to do in order to make sure they draft him. I know Houston would love to have him as well.

    He is although he's built like a linebacker. In fact if he put on 20 lbs of muscle he would be a good size LB. He's got great straight line speed bot some people think he has trouble turning his hips and will struggle at the next level. I'm anxious to see how he does as he reminds me a lot of Louis Oliver.

    Yes. It basically balances out.

    12=1200
    24=740
    35=550

    So it is 1200 vs 1290

    Mays is a classic looks like Tarzan plays like Jane type. He will never be a FS in the NFL. The question is whether he'll be a SS or a LB. Lacks instincts in both the passing game and the running game. But he is a superior athlete so somebody will always believe they can coach him up. I expect that he'll last in the league b/c of that alone, but he'll probably never be good.

    Sure, if they throw in extra picks if its #55 instead of #37 fine....but wouldnt do it if its #24 and #55 only.

    If its #24 and #37 I would be fine with it.

    Unfortunately those extra 90 points are the equivalent of a high 4th round pick.

    If the deal is for #24 and #37, I think Miami will send something back or start swapping spots.

    High Def and I were playing this game the last week in Club.

    Here was part of my scenario involving #55 (I'd quoted a post, so if some of it doesn't read clearly, that's why).

    And Brandon Marshall. :tongue:

    Thanks, Muck. I really like the way that 12 pick draft lays out. It would leave us pretty stout on the top tier of picks. We could only be so lucky for it to happen though.

    I'd take #24 and #55 if they add a third rounder in 2011. Getting greedy and losing out on a good player in round 2 would be a mistake.

    If Dez is still there, depending on who is still on the board, you might consider trading back again. Or, taking him.

    Alot of you are too young to remember, but when the 84 or 84 (cant remember exactly) season ended, Thurman Thomas (ironically from OkSt) was pegged as an early first rounder. As time went on, he wasn't as big or fast as he played, so he dropped.

    The guy had an incredible chip on his shoulder forever. If Dez is still there, he would probably have more to prove than almost anyone in the draft and that could possibly have a great effect on him. And since we would be getting an early second, it might be worth if for us to take him at 24. IF,,,,thats where we pick.

    I have convinced myself after last years disasterous pick of Pat White that the FO just made a serious mistake...they aren't stupid. If they pick Tebow, they will indeed be stupid. Unless hes there in the fifth round, you leave his happy, motivated, Preacher *** on the board.

    Thanks all.

    As we all know, this draft is loaded. We all agree that there will be a solid, solid player there at 12. But again, this draft is an uncommonly strong class. It's not a year where you want to be sitting out in the early rounds.

    As such, that second round void is a gaping hole for the guys in Aqua.

    Philly has additional picks in the second, third and fourth rounds. Realize how rare it is for a team with that kind of early-round ammo to want to make a deal with you in the first place. Much less when you're desperately looking to get back into the second round game. That is quite a fortuitous situation to be in.

    So with all that said, I think the Dolphins will do everything possible to do a deal with the Eagles.
