    >People on this board are insane.
    >Jason Taylor chose having a job over retirement.
    >Get over it.
    >He was offered a 2 million dollar raise from last year.
    >Anyone criticizing him for not rejecting tripling his pay are insane.

A lot of kneejerk, even childish reactions to this. The man wants to work. A job in the hand is worth two 'maybe after the drafts' in the bush right? I don't want him to succeed in NY but when he retires he'll still be a Dolphin great. This won't change that, just like Thurman Thomas coming to Miami didn't take away his accomplishments in Buffalo.

A little respect for this regime had died for me today. If they have another mediocre season fans will point to this as one of the growing list of mistakes this regime has made as the fans clammor for their heads on a plate.

You are joking right ? Because JT has made more than $ 40 million in just salary alone, not including the endorsement deals he has had in the past.

Agreed. At least if the mediocrity comes as a result of pass rushing problems and JT has a productive season in NY.

Sad day, but I don't blame him at all. This organization is very cut throat and showed him no respect. The rivarly with the Jets just went up another notch.

You forgot the part where you said he wasn't good anymore and the only reason you thought he wasn't coming back was because you hate him.

He deserves to be a Jet. We wouldn't give him $13 million. He isn't worth that money anymore and I hope Ronnie Brown bucks his *** down on the way to the endzone.

Agreed....I'm just sure he could have found it another place than the Jets. I just feel like it was classless to leave a team that you helped build for the most part and a Community that really respects you to go take a one year shot with a division rival thats trying to buy their Championship this year.

I have no doubt that we would have signed JT after the draft. He guy is still a good player in my eyes. Part of my reason for being upset we lost him, if he sucked I wouldn't care.

I just dont respect people that join teams that try and buy championships at the end of their career to try and get a ring (i.e. Brett Favre)

Isn't it ironic how just a couple of months ago JT ran back a fumble for a TD and then he spiked the Jets logo on the wall basically summarizing his career-long hate for the Jets? And now he's going to don their uniform.

And what he produced it turned out to be a market value contract, kudos to the front office.....

I gotta disagree bro, the guy is taking off the colors of Miami, and putting on the worst enemies colors.....he doesnt need the money, he doesnt need the fame, at the end of the day, he doesnt need the championship....the will go into the HOF, and be considered one of the best sack masters in the modern era...he didnt need to do it, and part of me thinks, because Miami didnt jump when dear old Jason said so, it is his way of sticking it to them...what the eff ever, he is dead in my eyes, because he sold out on me....I was one of the guys who wanted him back at a reasonsible price, for growth and development of the younger pups....again I dont care, he is done, however he is done, and I could care less if anything happens to him, I obviously DONOT want him to die or be harmed for life on so that he cant function....but if he snaps his knee out alla Brady....oh well...!!

Crunch he isnt that big of a difference maker on this team bro.....come on...he was a rotational pass rusher who got what 7 sacks last year....get me a 3 down player who is tough and can do everything...why fool ourselves with signing JT another year, and mask our inefficiencies for another year....fix it now!!

If they have another 7-9 or an 8-8 season Ross will make a change. BANK ON IT.

Parcells may leave after this draft anyways. He has yet to last out a whole contract. But without Parcells, and a 6-10, 7-9 or 8-8 season Ross will turn to his old friend Carl Peterson to replace everyone, and Sparano and Ireland will be gone.

re-read the post I was responding too, it was making the assertion "the player" is in rags and starving.

I have ZERO problem with "the player" being paid fairly, but I do have a problem with its being a 2 faced & disloyal person. It stated how many million times it hated the Jets and all that stood for. Now it does this. Its a stab in the back, and its all done because it just can't come to the grips that the Fins FO won't worship it for the Diva it is.

Is it wrong to hope for a career ending injury for JT?? Nothing life threatening but maybe a broken leg or something?

I understand the business side of it, but Jason should never EVER be considered a hall of famer for the Dolphins plain and simple. Zach Thomas should be adored and the king of the city for having a soul. He bleed sweet and cried for these Dolphins. He refused to go to a rival because he was a Dolphins and understood what that meant for for himself and the fans..

Jason Taylor twice has left us Washington OK move on I understand. The JETS the stinking new york JETS you gotta be kidding me... I despise what you stand for. Don't sell me the JETS were the best option BS it's personal now and JASON you were NEVER A DOLPHIN TO ME!

You have been erased from my collective thoughts.. I hope the fans in New York Embrace you so you have some fans, but that Jets Team isn't going to be superbowl bound and your SOL in Miami you fraud... Piss off and I hope Zach's Wife Leaves you... Sorry I just do..

Well. to be fair you ARE a troublemaker and a troll....:shifty:
    j/k....
myself I hate to see JT go, especially to the Jets of all teams.
On the other hand, if JT is pretty much considered a pass rusher only at this point, Wake should be able to fill those shoes.
Taylor: 16 games, 15 starts and 7 sacks
Wake: 14 games, 1 start and 5.5 sacks.

All Taylor's words were hot air.
    That's all I'll say.

He's going to regret the move.
    I guarantee you.

He is going to get harrassed by that fan base endlessly unless he lights the field on fire every game.

For me, I wont even consider that he ever was a Dolphin after this.

I know two NYJ fans who are not happy about this at all. They are still smarting over JT's very unflattering comments about them last time around. There will be no open arms awaiting him in NY, that's for sure.

He's nothing more than a football whore and I don't know why TUNA took him back in the first place. To be honest I am glad he's off our roster so we can get someone else who is younger and more loyal.

The fact that the JETS are going to pay this guy all of this money is a joke. Good riddens JT.......grow some hair.

Most people are missing the fact that most of the money is in the 2nd year of the contract, a year he doesn't ever intend to play, and the Jets will never pay. Its not a guaranteed contract, so who cares what is in it for the 2nd year....its nonsense.

This was done by IT for one reason, and one reason only, to get back at Parcells. The Player is still hurting because Parcells told IT not to do DWTS and The Player went ahead and did it, and then Parcells didn't welcome him back. The Player then forced a trade (have you guys forgotten that ???) threatened to hold out or retire if it wasn't traded. Have you guys really forgotten that The Player did that ? Why should this FO ever show loyalty to The player ? The Player dissed them before their 1st season.

Bro.I am venting a bit.I will get over it.IMO he was misused last year.He should be used as a pass specialist as the Jets intend to use him .He is the lanky type of DE who generally lasts longer in the NFL than the big thick counterparts.

IMO he is not done .He still has a lot of sacks in his system.

Here is a video highlight I made of him during his better days.
    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kbm52VMZY8k"]YouTube- Jason Taylor Tribute[/ame]

I think it speaks volumes that he thinks he has a better chance of getting a SB with the Jets than with the Dolphins who have ignored him. That is the one thing he lacks to get into the HOF .I dont begrudge him that because he was one of the few stars we had during some of the worst seasons in our history.Imagine him being named Defensive player of the year during a losing season.I dont think that has ever happened before.

Yeah, let's get back to those 4-12 and 1-15 seasons I just loved to watch. FO has made mistakes, but so has every other FO in the NFL. Just on paper in April this off-season has been pretty good in my opinion. While watching the ESPN draft ticker the other day it said. Departures: Gibril Wilson, Joey Porter, Ted Ginn Jr. Players Added: Karlos Dansby, Brandon Marshall. Coaching Changes: Mike Nolan, defensive coordinator. Looks pretty good to me anyway.

Taylor was a fan favorite for many and has been a heck of a player wearing the "aqua green", but that doesn't mean the FO made a mistake not running out and signing him. He could have waited and even if they didn't re-sign maybe they feel moving forward we have a better chance of success without him. I want their one motivation to be to win games, that's it. I would have liked him back but I don't think a 36 year old OLB has that much impact on our W-L ratio. Let's see what they do in the draft and go from there. 11-5 and AFC East title; 7-9 with key injuries and the toughest schedule, while being competitive in nearly every game. I like what they FO has done and am hopeful for what they will do.
