Good old Scott Linehan was told he would not be fired for his dismal 3-10 record. They said he can't be judged due to the injuries the team has sustained.

Do you think this is a good sign for Cam? Or do you think winning 3 games is a lot different than winning none?

As well, Wayne has not come out and make a blanket statement declaring Cam's job safe. Do you think this will influence his decision, or maybe he hasn't made that statement for a reason?

tough to say, I think if we go 0-16 then Cam is gone. At least Linehan would have won three games. The Texans have a ton of guys on IR and they won a few games.

my impression is the Wayne was horrified by the fans' reaction to the Ginn pick on draft day, which automatically put Cam and Randy on a shorter leash. An 0-16 season on top of that, with even more angry fans, would be a strong incentive to change course. If we win a game or two in the next three, I think they stay but are on the hot seat next year.

3-10 is night and day from 0-13.Cam's strong suite were (1) developing young QB's (2) great play calling.
Have you seen a sign of either?Ray Rhoades was fired in Green Bay
for going 8-8 in his only year as head coach.
How does it set us back firing Cam?

this might be the most important difference between the two teams as well. The fins seem to have given up already

Honestly I feel Cam should be fired if we don't win a game. I dont know how we can keep him. I know the injuries aren't his fault and we've lost 6 games by 3 points but you have to atleast win one. In the NFL it is unacceptable to go winless.

    I agree with you all.

0-16 is unheard of. So why is it so unheard of to fire a coach after "achieving" that record?

Injuries or not, Linehan still managed to win "3" games!! That's "3" more than we've managed at this point!! There's a vast difference between a poor record and an unacceptable one!! I would say that 0-16 is the latter!! :hump:

The biggest problem with Cam is there is no improvement. Every week he says the same thing. And every week we do the same stupid things over and over.

You hit the nail on the head!! You don't expect much from rookie coaches the first year, but you do expect to see some improvement each week, and it seems like we're regressing, not progressing!! :confused2::confused2:

Because the Rams are idiots we should be too? If all of the other idiots jump off the bridge will you?

The Rams should be thinking like us. Injuries are going to happen. sometimes lots of them. The Rams and the Dolphins should have depth to plug in players. Linehan should be held even MORE responsible because this is his second year there and he should have been able to impact a change.

    On the contrary,

Some weeks we lose because we can't stop the run.
Other weeks we stop the run, but allow the opposition to complete 3rd and long passes.
Then there are the weeks we lose bacause we commit turnovers.

We're very good at thinking up new and different stupid things to do.

I am sorry but I cant see how you DONT fire him if we go 0-16.

Forget the 17-0 perfect team and all that, if the Pats lose, because the most recent accomplishment of this team would be the 0-16 fiasco not to mention the locker room rumors.

I am convinced Cam is gone next season with a 0-16 record setting record.

Hell, Rich Kotite won a game.:(

I dont think that Cam is totally safe due to injuries. I believe that alot will depend on the internal study that Wayne has said he will have conducted. That will probably save or sink him.

At least Linehan went 8-8 in his first year. So something's right. Cam's 0 and counting and doesn't have the track record Linehan has. If Linehan went 3-10 in his first year, he might not have stayed.

While 0-13 is really bad, I think if we were 3-10, most would be calling for Cameron's head anyways. Sure we say that 3-10 is way different from 0-13, but in reality the same things would be posted (other than the ones about going 0-16). IMO Cameron should stay, but that is an unpopular choice by the fans but there is no right answer. Either way, we have to rebuild. Next year should be an improvement if Cameron returns... If we hire a new coach (mind you, it'll probably be a rookie HC), it's going to be the same thing (Maybe not a 0-13 season). Cameron brought in a draft class that's looking very promising so he's set a foundation, but it's far from over. If I were Wayne, I'd keep him around. But again, this is an unpopular choice so I expect a lot of disagreeing to come after this post.

3-10 is NOT the same as 0-13. This is the NFL. Parity rules. You have to work really hard to not win a single game. There's a reason it's never happened before.

The decision will come down to this. After the season, Wayne Huizenga will ask his key veterans what they think of Cam. Zach Thomas will tell him that if Cam returns, he will retire. Jason Taylor will tell him that if Cam returns, he will publicly demand a trade. And at that point, Cam will be fired.

If we were 3-10, I think a lot of us could be more understanding. With the wins, at least you know something went right and there's some hope for the future. But because of parity and all, you're bound to win a few games unless you field a team with the talent equivalent of a high school team. (Heck, I think Long Beach Poly could even beat us). Cam hasn't won us any games. Mueller and him have essentially made a team with no depth and that is their fault. Even the Rams, with all their injuries, had some wins. If we hire a new coach, I'm pretty sure he won't go 0-13.
