Just for fun, my complete round 1 draft! Disect and comment away! No trades involved, though apparently the Rams are trying hard to offload that top pick. I feel with the loss of our second rounder we will really try and trade back some unless Berry makes it to us and get another pick. I dont know if we can wrangle a second, but its a good and logical move. Finding a partner willing to pay is, as always, the tough part.

    1. St. Louis (1-15) - Sam Bradford - Unless something crazy happens, Bradford will go #1. The Rams should take him, but if the Browns offer a blockbuster, he will still go here.
    2. Detroit (2-14) - Ndamakong Suh - The best fit to go with pickup Corey Williams, Suh can achor the line and wreak havoc. Although this SHOULD be Okung, one cant argue to hard against a player like Suh.
    3. Tampa Bay (3-13) - Gerald McCoy - A disruptive force and a defensive player of the caliber this team has lacked for a long time.
    4. Washington (4-12) - Russel Okung - McNabb needs some protection with Samuals out.
    5. Kansas City (4-12) - Bryan Bulaga - There is healthy debate about who is the 2nd best tackle, Bulaga or Williams. However, there is a strong connection between Pioli and Hawkeye coach Ferentz which may seal the deal for Bryan.
    6. Seattle (5-11) - Eric Berry - A value pick here, though I could easily see Trent Williams or CJ Spiller. I think they sit future QB Whitehurst to start with though, so they can afford to take offensive players in later rounds.
    7. Cleveland (5-11) - Jimmy Clausen - Cleveland needs a QB badly, and going to Cleveland would afford Clausen the time to sit for awhile until Delhomme implodes.
    8. Oakland (5-11) - Trent Williams - An athletic freak for Al Davis at a position of need, match made in heaven! (or Hell?)
    9. Buffalo (6-10) - Dan Thomas - Buffalo needs to get that 3-4 anchor. I dont get this switch at all, but if thats the way they want to go, they need to stock it.
    10. Jacksonville (7-9) - Derrick Morgan - Superior 4-3 passrusher, can supplant or push Harvey and provide insurance in case Kampman isnt 100%.
    11. Denver - from Chicago^ (7-9) - Rolando McClain - Defensive stud, will replace Andra Davis and provide a defensive leader and focal point.
    12. Miami (7-9) - Earl Thomas - No OLB is going to come in and have a day 1 impact on this team. Sorry, its just not happening. Although I think we trade back, if we stay at 12 Thomas offers the best chance at landing an immediate impact stud.
    13. San Francisco (8-8) - Joe Haden - For a team with secondary troubles, having the top overall corner fall to them is a godsend.
    14. Seattle - from Denver (8-8) - Dez Bryant - A value pick here as well. They will need to get whomever is quarterbacking a weapon, and Bryant is tops in this draft.
    15. New York Giants (8-8) - Brian Price - Solid DL for a unit needing to get better.
    16. Tennessee^ (8-8) - Jason Pierre-Paul - The defensive line needs some work, and JPP could be an immediate impact player with his hand in the dirt.
    17. San Francisco - from Carolina^ (8-8) - Anthony Davis - Falling player but immense potential. Mike Singletary isnt afraid of a challenge and wont back down from this one, especially given the need for a RT.
    18. Pittsburgh (9-7) - Mike Iupati - Although the secondary is a concern, adding a mauler like Iupati to a stuggling line is a no brainer.
    19. Atlanta^ (9-7) - Sean Weatherspoon - Defensive leader will fit in well on the defense.
    20. Houston^ (9-7) - Kyle Wilson - With Thomas gone, Houston looks to fill a glaring and long time void at corner with the tough physical Wilson.
    21. Cincinnati* (10-6) - Jermain Gresham - A vertical TE threat for Palmer who needs some help desperately.
    22. New England* (10-6) - Jerry Hughes - I really waffle with the Pats pick here, and eventually settled on Hughes.
    23. Green Bay* (11-5) - Charles Brown - Need some offensive line help to keep budding superstar Aaron Rodgers from being killed.
    24. Philadelphia* (11-5) - Everson Griffon - Andy Reid adores his linemen on both sides of the ball, and EG is a physical specimen who could really cause some havoc with attention focused on Cole.
    25. New York Jets* (9-7) - Brandon Graham - Another waffle, I went with a solid pick in Graham. I think they could come out and grab Taylor Mays when all is said and done though.
    26. Baltimore* (9-7) - Jared Odrick - If he makes it here then its a lock. The Ravens are really really thin on the defensive front and a body like Odrick would fit perfectly.
    27. Arizona* (10-6) - Bruce Campbell - The Cards OL is going downhill, and they hope a guy like Campbell can help turn it around.
    28. Dallas* (11-5) - Taylor Mays - Dallas needs help at safety and Jerrah loooooves those big names and physical freaks.
    29. Minnesota* (12-4) - Kareem Jackson - Great fit for the Vikes at corner.
    30. San Diego* (13-3) - Ryan Matthews - Powreful and with enough speed to get it done, he will team well with Sproles as the replacement for LT.
    31. New Orleans* (13-3) - Daryl Washington - New Orleans could use some help at LB, and Washington is a top notch backer.
    32. Indianapolis* (14-2) - Maurkice Pouncey - Colts are looking to get bigger and tougher on the OL, and should Pouncey fall here, would be a logical pick.

    Dolphins picks after:
    3. Jimmy Graham - Getting a guy like Graham to team with Marshall and Hartline would have Henne literally drooling.
    4. Erik Norwood - A good player to develop at the OLB position
    6. Brandon Lang - A good player to develop at the OLB position
    6. Donovan Warren - Value pick, a guy who could play as a nickle/dime CB or back up the safety spot. Has really fallen, but possess good potential.
    6. Ekam Udofia - May be to low for him, but if hes here would be a decent depth/competition pick at NT.
    7. Brandon James - Explosive will get a shot at returning and at being a third down type scat back
    7. Micah Johnson - Banger at ILB, may be to low.
    7. Kevin Matthews - Center/Guard depth is not a bad thing.

Man we can dream Padre! That would be a helluva pick for us no doubt. Adding him, Marshall and Dansby in one offseason? Yowch thats productive.

Honestly though, how could he get through Jacksonville? I would consider Seattle, Cleveland and JVille as the most likely destinations. Oakland and Denver will have to consider, but I think they pass.

How interesting is it that a lot of us wanted Dez Bryant to fall and now we're hoping Berry falls. :wink2:

If we were to finish this offseason filling three very needy positions with Brandon Marshall, Karlos Dansby, and Eric Berry?

Wow, I cant even think of what to say next....its that insane! Crazy thing is we are 2/3 of the way their.

Mike Nolan likes Florida’s Major Wright and has met with him several times in Gainesville. He has good athleticism, and reacts quickly in coverage. When we draft him this will not be a disappointment.

Taylor Mays has good size and is a big hitter but would make a better OLB at the next level. He’s big and has good instincts but his hip movement is horrid and he can’t cover the slot to save his life. (or so I am told....)

If he's there in the 3rd and we pick up an OLB in the 1st, that's a coup(i think he's off the board before then but we can hope). Add Jeff Owens in the 4th and we instantly become a team without any glaring holes, just questions about rookies who need to produce.

i just don't think we take Thomas ... certainly not at 12 ....

if i 'have' to pick at 12 and it falls the way you have it ... i am choosing between Odrick and Hughes ...

and i don't like drafting a TE before rd 5 ... we can make do with what we have -- and Nalbone has now had a year to get ready.

IMO the board at 12 is
    1. Eric Berry
    2. Derrick Morgan
    3. Earl Thomas
    4. Dan Williams
    5. Brandon Graham

to me its: Berry and Morgan

then if you want to expand: Odrick, C Jones, Hughes and Graham, McClain

shocking would be Bryant or Spiller ...

Im not a big fan of Morgan for a 3-4 at all. I wouldnt be shocked to see him get picked at 12, but I wouldnt be very happy with it.

Odrick seems to be a favorite on this board, and while hes not bad Im not seeing the need unless the FO is convinced he can be a NT. I think most projections would have him playing DE in a 3-4, with the possibility of moving inside for passing downs.

Spiller is a guy I could see though, especially if we trade Ted Ginn.

*Edit - just hit the main forum and saw the Ted Ginn Trade lol. IMO this makes Spiller a big option at 12 if we dont trade down. He would take over the returners duties, provide us with some speed and explosiveness that we generally lack.

Oi, totally missed it. I was actually playing around with him going to the G-men instead of Price. I think they want to get more speed out of the backfield. If they pass on Price, I can see him going to a team like Indy or possibly NO late.

i think Odrick is one of those guys that could migrate to NT over time ... but he could instantly improve our DE posture ... especially if Starks has to cover down on NT for the 1st half of the season with Soliai ....

I agree with you,I just can't envision Berry falling to 12 even though I would love that. If he is not there then I say we should trade down also back enough to pick up a 2nd rounder. Then we should take the best pass rusher with our 1st and take Allen with the 2nd. I am a fan of Nate Allen and feel he should be a productive safety.
