Ginn killed the Jets. Not sure why, but he always made plays against them. It was funny to go on a Jets board and see them bash him after the huge games he'd put up on them.
I love watching Ginn burn the Jets in all of his highlights on ESPN today. Take that you Jets fans! Even after he's been traded hes still burning you via old highlights!
I was actually at a few games. He created good seperation quite a bit, which is all that matters in regards to route running. Henne simply either never looked at, or passed him over.
I can understand hoping to see what he could do this year with Marshall and thinking he offers more to us than the 5th rounder will, but if one of our WRs need to go... I rather keep guys like Camarillo who we know will make plays then pinning hopes on the potential of someone else; Turner can fill that role now. Ginn seems like a great guy and hope he does well in San Fran.
I guess I am a minority here. I may be the only one who thinks the short lived success at returning kicks was a fluke. Aside from the 2 td performance Ginn sucked at returning period. Dont all raise your hand at once but who would rather start Ginn over hartline camarillo or Bess. If thats the case then we should have traded one of those because we dont have room. We got the 14th pick of the 5th round. We basically traded Ginn for Thigpen. Common mistake I see is everyone is stating 9th selection. Who in there right mind with this hindsight, drafts Ginn at all. Hindsight is 20/20. We were given the 49ers pick for the right to claim our garbage. Ginn was gone period end of story and the FO got a pick for it. Hooray move on.
Thigpen for a 4th or 3rd would be sweet! If we are on the clock and spiller is available is ronnie traded for a second rounder? Do we package Ronnie to move up for Berry?
I live in 49er country and am literally laughing at every fan I see. "You're stuck with him now! Drop it like it's hot! lol"
I'm not saying that. But, Marshall was not Ted Ginn's replacement. He made Ginn expendable, but let's be honest, Teddy was on borrwed time as it was. Like a lot here, I would like to have seen Ginn and Marshall on the field at the same time. Oh well.
Given recent market rates, i think we should be thrilled with a fifth. considering Holmes was given up for the same thing.
now, trade ronnie and one of our inside linemen to seattle for their top 1st.pick up eric berry with that pick, use the 12th to drop down and pick up a second while still keeping a lower round first and we are sitting pretty....and we still have 2 or 3 6th and 7ths to package for move up to get a 5th back.
I hope Ginn has success in San Fransisco, he's a young guy and he didn't choose to be the 9th pick in the 2007th draft, Cameron and Co. can take all the blame for that. Its ironic that he is on the same team as Patrick Willis, a player who was drafted two picks after Ginn and is now the best linebacker in the NFL. Its too bad we didn't take Willis when we had the chance.
I haven't read the whole thread, but I for one could care less. Ginn has speed and that's it. He's shown time and time again that he can't play physical football and he can't catch either. How many games did Ginn **** up in a clutch spot? He's worthless and we're lucky to have gotten a 5th for him. He's never going to be a good player in this league. Cya later Ted.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! He would have actually done good this year with Brandon Marshall! He would have been a legit deep threath and really helped our offense........
Good riddance, he cant catch, he cant run proper routes, he cant block w/o holding. He isnt that good of a returner either, one good game as a returner doesnt define him as an elite return man. we can find KR in the later rounds. Straight out of bounds amirite? You have no idea what the hell you are talking about.
Funniest and truest post I've seen on here! I'm in the would have like to seen the Marshall and Ginn together camp.
Yeh..thats kind of what a couple of us assume as well. Or would hope. Him or Gilyard. But he will probably go too high for our tastes.
Good luck, Ted. May you have great success when you're not in the spotlight. The Ted Ginn Mafia cannot follow you to your new city. Our allegiance is to the team first. We are sorry. We gotta fuggedabout you, but don't worry, we'll still carry our totally unnecessary negativity towards Ronnie Brown in the next survivor contest.
I for one am glad he's finally gone, no more stressing me out on game-days from "Ginn" drops, or out of bound routes...that said, good luck to him in SF.
Where do you get this logic? Let me show you the error of your ways and end this whole Ginns the man BS some of you are floating.. First his 2009 year in review according to his wikipedia.. Next his SPECIAL TEAMS STUDLY-NESS LOOK AT HIS PUNT RETURN AVERAGE over 3 years!! 8.7 Yards... LAME-O!! Kick Return stats: 23 Yards Return Average WOW HES SO FREAKING AWSOME! Sorry guys he plain sucked, and wishing for him to be a stud based on his speed or college is ridiculous. Listen Ted Sorry it didn't work out here. Maybe this will wake you up. Maybe you will not have any pressure and now will become a serviceable player in the NFL. I wish you luck I will speak your name no more as a Dolphin... Peace.. I've moved on.. You should as well.
