We'll use that pick on a wedge buster or a gunner to replace Nate Jones. Getting anything for Ginn is a steal IMO since keeping him wouldve meant cutting Camarillo (best hands on team) or Turner, which wasnt going to happen. Like the other poster said, at some point you cut your losses. I'm just glad I wont have to hear/read anymore Ginn sucks rants.
Because Turner is their guy, and Ginn is not. Its that simple. But what a waste. Now is there anyone but Soliai on the team from the Cam Cameron draft ? Another wasted draft....... I swear this team makes me wanna cry just like Hootie said it would.
I don't love the move, but it was going to happen now or next year regardless. Nothing about being afraid of contact = Bill Parcell's. I am glad we got something for him. Who is the next whipping boy? Jason Allen still around?
We'll also have to draft a returner. While I appreciate Bess' effort, he won't be scoring a lot of return touchdowns and he fumbled the ball quite a bit last year. My guess is, they will be looking for a KR.
What a waste. We lose a strong return man, and someone who had big play ability (albeit inconsistent) for a late round pick. Bad move that dampens my giddiness a bit of getting Marshall.
At least we plugged a hole in our draft. Next on the to-do list: Trade back and get us a second round pick. Another plus: we sent him to the NFC. I can't tell you how many nightmares I've had of us cutting Ginn and having the Pats sign him just in time for him to learn how to play receiver.
I'm not a fan of this move right now. We could possibly get lucky with the pick or leverage it for more pics, but at this moment I'm not pleased with this trade.
RE Pennington: Then he shouldn't be next, I don't think. RE Ginn: Neither has Turner. I guess they still expect good things from him. I don't, personally.
While im pleased to see him gone, if this is not in exchange for a 4th or 5th it wasnt worth it in my mind.
I don't like this move at all, we have zero WR's now that can stretch the field, even if Ginn can't catch at least when he was on the field teams had to respect his deep speed..
All the debate is academic now. Ted and his family have moved on and I hope he finds more success in San Fran.
Bad move Miami...Ginn keeps getting better and to replace his speed will not be a money saver. Stupid play.
My point was to illustrate that Ginn doesn't make much. Getting him off the books... I mean, who cares?
Well, I think we all knew this day was coming. for a 5th? I guess that's about right, all we could probably get anyways. Part of me though, really wishes we could have gotten to see how he'd perform this year with Marshall now on the team. I'm gonna be really pissed if he puts up big numbers in SF though. He probably will though with crabtree and Davis out there. Oh well, heres to hoping we make the best of our 5th rounder.
Does anyone think maybe did this because one of our practice squad players could be a stud? I know Sparano has said he likes what he has seen in Taurus Johnson and Julius Pruitt? Just a thought.
Who's going to trade a 3rd round pick for a guy that drop the ball, is afraid from contact, poor route running skills and is not physical enough to play football?
I cant believe the ginn threads and debates are finally going to end....this week keeps getting better and better.
Let's put him behind us. Another wasted pick by a waste of a coach. Not a bad draft talent wise for an additional 5th.
Camarillo was on WQAM a month or so ago and Joe Rose asked him to name one person in camp that looks like they have made the most improvements from last year. Without any hesitation he named Turner and then added then he made great strides during the year. Only thing is fans couldn't see it because he was never activated. I still think the main reason he wasn't activated is he didn't play special teams where the majority of the other WR's do.
