I guess Chris Chambers was really good from 2003-2005, but he never played like a Brandon Marshall. OJ McDuffie was a stud in the late 90s, but even he was no Brandon Marshall. LOOK AT MY AVATAR FOR THE ANSWER!!!
somehow, I really get the feeling that our forum has not completely connected w/ the tremendous event that has taken place today. We have obtained an elite WR, one of the top five in the NFL & the best offensive player to be traded in 2010. Couple this w/ our obtaining Karlos Dansby, another elite & perhaps the very best ILB in the NFL, certainly the best defensive prospect to be had in FreeAgency... This is tremendous & now frees us up to go after the final pieces in the draft. We will contend in 2010!
IMO, the best WR this franchise has seen since Paul Warfield. Clayton/Duper/Fryar were very nice but probably a product of Marino.
I disagree. Look at some of the Danny highlights on youtube. Duper and Clayton routinely had DBs beaten by 3-5 steps!!!
Agreed, but did any of these guys do much of anything before or after of Miami? Fryar was kind of considered a bust as the #1 overall pick in 1983, Clayton floundered in Green Bay. Like I said, these guys were very nice(just look at my username ), but were any of them considered top 3 at their position?
Amen. Although I thought Clayton was the #1 out of the 2, Duper was more the speedster #2 stretch the field guy OJ McDuffie was the closest to a proper number one since the Marks Bros. in my time watching the Fins, but finally we have another.
Fryar was the last guy who was very good for us. But it's been since the Marks Brothers since we've had a beast out there like this. Clayton was at the end of the line at Green Bay. That was the last year of his career. Duper averaged 17.4 ypc his entire career. The last year of his career, he averaged 17.3. Still, Marshall is at the very top. You can argue that Warfield is the only guy above him.
The last time we had anything close to a stud was Chris Chambers. Where do you think Marshall will fall in the fantasy draft rankings?
To be honest i cant think of a STUD WR we have had we have had good WR's but no stud like Marshall the last good WR we had was Chambers
Marshall legitimately has the talent to be a Hall of Fame receiver. He has the stats to start his career to be that down the road. The only Hall of fame receiver the Dolphins have had is Warfield, and it really isn't even close with any one since. That said, Marshall has a long way to go and his off the field problems or injury could easily derail him.
