Pat White is now a WR and is mad? From the Sun Sentinel....... http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_football_dolphins/2010/04/miami-dolphins-pat-white-is-tweeting-mad-or-not.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sports%2FMiamiDolphinsweblog+%28Miami+Dolphins+|+Sun-Sentinel+Blogs%29
It doesn't uh actually say he is a WR anywhere in that mess of where journalism has gone bad in the modern age?
If that's what he actually said and that's his his mindset......then we too are better off if he goes back to playing baseball.
And he later issued a clarification: For goodness sakes, I follow the Phins on twitter not for information per se, but because it offers a flavor of what they are like and talk B$ about, Berradino, the Dork, could have Sparano pulling the plug on the entire Twitter Phins thing. Mo-ron.
Well the fact that he said "what he was feeling"..........is news. Bad news for us because obviously he's not mentally on board if the FO ever wakes up and realizes that the only real value we might ever get out of him is as an all purpose player/WR. He was over-drafted/paid by 3 rounds....... he should just shut up and do what ever he's asked. Otherwise, he'll likely get a chance to play baseball sooner than he thinks.
The amount of Twitter-related misinterpretations is really starting to annoy me. The problem here isn't the 140 character limit per tweet, it's someone reading that Pat White doesn't want to move to WR and coming away with thinking that Pat White has been moved to WR. I don't know how someone reads that tweet and thinks White has changed positions.
While that is true....isn't the real issue here the fact that he is obviously not on board with any other option other than being an NFL QB? Because while I'm sure there's still a handful of ppl out there willing to stand up for the FO's assumption that he can.......most know at this point, that's just a pipe dream.

He's allowed to want to play a certain position and he's allowed to not want to play a certain other position. Doesn't mean a damn thing with regards to whatever position he winds up playing, as the coaches decide that. But White's allowed to have preferences. And if he would rather play baseball than WR, I say move him to WR. For a guy purportedly listed as a WR, I don't recall him taking a snap as a WR, catching a pass as a WR, or lining up as a WR to run the jet sweep. He's a QB on our roster. Nothing in his tweet indicates he was moved, either. Coming away thinking he was moved is a gross misinterpretation and I don't see the basis for it in the text of his tweet.
If the Dolphins had not selected Pat White where they did, where do you suppose he would have been drafted? There have been more than a few Good/Great college QBs who's college game didn't carry over to the Pros so Pat White wouldn't be the first one.
Taken White where we did is only surpassed by the Ginn pick in terms of headscratchers. He's getting paid a lot of money and if he isn't willing to find a position where he has a chance of making an impact then later.
I would have rather used that pick on tebow who i think would be a better pick for being a wildcat only player because of his size. Seeing as he wont snap in half everytime he's hit. He also has solid leadership qualities so it wouldnt hurt. He's no QB in this league at all and i love henne but tebow in my mind would be may better suited for the wildcat than pat white.
that he did every time he came into the game i was like kid again watching a horror movie cringing and hiding my head under a blanket but just like a horrible car crash it was ugly but i had to look
seriously...why waste the time developing him into something he's not or doesn't even want to be, just admit it was a HORRIBLE pick, cut him, and move on. We need to get real WR talent in here.
Well we could always give him some WR and possibly punt returner training during TC, hopefully show that he has some promise there during the pre season games and at the least get some kind of pick for him....and I seriously doubt the FO would cut a 2nd year guy they spent a 2nd round pick on.
yes, Beck, Ginn and White were without a doubt the three most recent bumbles .... i am very confident we will not bumble the 1st three rounds this year -- less WOLB, the talent is there for the 'needs' we have .... SOLB, S, WR and additional LB depth.
That's not the discussion. But, for the first 4 games of the season, I promise you White will have better stats than Holmes.
Touche!!! I was just pokin fun!! Serioulsy though, i agree that when someone isnt working out when you draft them you should just cut bait and run. THat is why i dont understand why the Jets keep Vernon around.
Baffles me too. I would have bet on Gholston getting cut this year. White may take another year to be cut, but seeing as he finished the year in the hospital and not a single pass completion, kinda proves that he's not able to be an NFL QB.
Probably. White won Bowl games in his 4 years as a starter at WV, he had an awesome Senior Bowl, and was fast, shifty and had a completion percentage around 60. He seemed strong coming out of college, but he wasn't a player that we needed or even wanted. There's also a school of thought out there that says Belichick was intrigued by White, so maybe Parcells was **** blocking. Fact is, after hundreds of threads here, nobody really knows why he was drafted, and after his dismal showing in 2009, nobody knows what his role here is in 2010. All I know is, I hope to never see him take another snap from center.
I think he should have continued typing it all because I'm sure he is also mad that he could not complete a pass, got the snot knocked out of him and most of all, is too small to play Qb in the NFL...
