traffic is lite down I-95 heading into......wait a second here on the newsmaker line we have finyank with some breaking news, what can you tell us FY.......

I cant tell you the traffic Duper, however what I can tell you is the the J-Russ era in Oakland could come to a abrupt halt, at #8 Oakland's GM Alex44 has selected Jimmy Clausen out of Notre Dame, folks a risky move here from A-44, however one in my opinion that had to be done...J-Russ has ballooned to almost 3-hundo, brought it down, went up again and last check is at 290+ when he reported for recent OTA's...in an uncapped year, Oakland is now free to rid themselves of that enormous contract they are shelling out to pay for fatboys ice, as well end the pain of watching what they thought was their franchise QB's electric arm fail time and time again.....they could even make a trade for say Tyler Thigpen in Miami as a backup as well hehe....

Move over Ryan Leaf, I think there is a new number 1 all time bust to take your place, and moreover Robert Gallery can slide to the guard spot, as I think Oakland just found their new left tackle.....

What's funny is I don't even like Clausen that much. It's more how much I DISLIKE Russel at this point. They need a QB who actually has some chance in hell of succeeding. They really aren't as bad at most positions as it would seem, especially on defense.

I really like the Claussen pick to the Raiders. Probably wont happen becuase Al Davis is hell bent on being right about Jamarcus but that would probably be the best pick they could do at that spot

Right defense they are pretty good, although have you seen the Nnamdi contract, he gets paid some ridiculous money soon.....they have some pretty good WR's if McFadden could ever live up to expectations, they wouldn't be that bad at all.....which is kinda of amazing when u think about it, with all the blown draft picks they have had...

I was ready to take Okung there because the Redskins are desperate for O-Line help, but he was selected by the Lions and I couldn't pass up Bradford with all his potential and the Skins needing a QB to build around.

Jacksonville have made their choice - Fin-Omenal, you're up. :)

Haden would have been my first choice but those damned Browns spoilt that party. Going against the widespread belief that "you don't draft a Guard in the 1st", I reckon Iupati will be a solid upgrade in a position of need for the Jags, and given that I don't have a pick in the second, it's cast iron he wouldn't have still been available in the third.

The irony is that if the trade between the Eagles and Browns yesterday had of been announced a couple of hours earlier, then I would have selected Clausen instead of Haden.

The Miami Dolphins are on the clock!

OK, as promised...while I ponder the options, I'll give y'all an opportunity to chime in with your thoughts. I will make my decision and post it shortly. And, I've already got a pretty good idea who it's gonna be. But, like I said...I'll provide a small window of opportunity for anyone to let their opinion be known.

Mclain just made to much sense, I considered Dan Williams but figured they have a bigger hole at SOLB....

Dolphins up and not one DE/OLB has been chosen so they get the pick of the liter, or will they appease the fanbase and go with Dez?

    Should be interesting.

Even if he asks us who to pick, whats that got to do with mock drafting? Thats my question. What does asking us have to do with mock draftin'. Nothin.

i can see the opportunity at 12 really being like this, i think dez will be there, and i do think we will have our pick of pass rushers. i think theres a solid chance dan williams might be gone, but most of us dont want him anyways.

im excited who the dolphins will take. id probably go dez, but theyd probably go earl graham or olb. gooooooooooooooooooooooooood luck, g.

OK, enough delay. Let's get on with it.

Let me first say that my biggest hope come draft day is that we trade down out of the #12 spot, and pick up another second rounder for this year's draft. I don't know if it will happen or not, but that's what I hope we do on 4/22. For our purposes however, that is not an option. So...

There are many players that could be a consideration at #12 IMO. But, for me it comes down to Earl Thomas, Brandon Graham, or Dez Bryant. And, to be honest with you...Dez Bryant was not my first choice at #12. But, at the end of the day, it just makes sense.

Here is my reasoning for selecting him:

He is the top rated player at a position that has a significant drop off after he is off the board.

He fills a huge need in the way of a true #1 WR. As such, he brings big time big play making ability to the position, and is a huge red zone threat. In doing so, he makes the entire WR corp (and the QB) better. In short, I believe he improves the entire offensive unit, and he will force opposing defenses to play us more honestly.

By selecting a WR at #12, the FO is now free to focus the rest of the draft on defense and possibly a TE. And, in a draft that is relatively deep in these areas, that seems like a logical strategy to me.

Now, in terms of negatives or concerns with Bryant, there is definitely a high risk/reward factor here. The kid has some baggage (and, he obviously doesn't interview very well). But, I believe in giving people, especially kids, a chance to get better. I mean, this is where coaching and mentoring come into play. You can't throw out the baby with the bath water.

Bottom line, there is no denying what this kid can do on a football field. And, there's simply no way you can ignore that kind of talent at #12.

FWIW...I did take the board's input into consideration. Here's the link to Rocky's "Who do YOU want at 12?" thread where Bryant was the clear choice.

I read your decision....if thats the case, I fork over the pick and the cash to Marshall....at 26, he would be right there in terms of putting all the BS aside and concentrating on ball....if you arent growing up by 26, u arent growing up at all....

At 22 years old (this Novemeber) so he is still 21, a brand new millionaire, in a violatile area for effing up....the kid might not handle it to well, IDK.....I have always said if you are going to do WR at 12, it has to be Marshall, Dez while I believe can be a special player in the NFL, is still just a prospect in my eyes, until he straps it on and does it......Marshall is nothing short of a beast, unstoppable, and is a proven top 3 WR for several years now.....

the only way they dont do that, is because they are scared to shell out the scratch...

I like your beans G-Man..I just hope the FO doesnt have those hahahah!!

I really am sorry guys. I made the first pick and looked over the list but did not see him. When I changed it I was driving and did it thru my phone. I then decided to get the help of Pete to post.

was going to take Graham if he fell to #23. Packers need OL depth, CB and a pass rusher. McCourty was the best available at the need positions and should provide some youth in an aging packers secondary

Hard to say how much the McNabb trade will impact what we've done here so far, because I really think the Rams take Bradford first over all. But, even if that holds true, and assuming Detroit and Washington each take one of the top OT prospects, and further assuming Tampa takes one of either McCoy or Suh, the question is where does the other one go? Not only that, but I can now see a scenario in which Berry falls out of the top five. And, if he does get out of the top five, I can see him potentially falling further. Call me crazy, but I think he could actually be on the board when we pick at #12.

I can easily see him making it out of the top 5. However it will be tough for him to get past Seattle, Cleveland, Oakland, JVille (especially imo) and Denver. All could use a ballhawking FS.

Would be an instant pick if he did though. Screw whoever else might be there, including Bryant, in that case lol.

He isn't growing up at all and you want to put him in Miami...yeesh. A WR who gets a teammate killed with his actions and is inches away from a year long suspension. Any team sending a first for Marshall is going to have it bite them in the rear guaranteed.
