Could Hamlin be the latest cowboy to land with Parcells in Miami??? thoughts. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/sns-ap-fbn-cowboys-moves,0,1405537.story
Ken seems to be on a downward spiral since his 2007 Pro Bowl season, but it would be a good idea to bring in him for a look. I'd love to see the Free Safety or NT spot get resolved before the draft.
I think it could work. It may be a fresh start for him and perhaps with Mike Nolan's defense, he could get back to Pro Bowl form he was a few years ago.
I think Hamlin would be a hell of a lot better than Gibril. That said, if he comes cheap I'd like him to come in and fill the role while we develop Clemons/Culver. We wouldn't need to draft FS high now. Personally I'd like to see us trade to around 20 and take Demayirus, then use the two seconds (one from the trade down) to get two rushers in the second round. Thankfully they go deep this year. Then we could get a quality NT in the third round and go TE, ILB, or FS in the fourth.
Cowboys cut OT Adams, S Hamlin http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/news/story?id=5050137&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines Hamlin I think is a given as a player this FO would have interest in; but what do you want to bet that Adams is on a plane to Miami this weekend?
where is he playing on this line Nabo?? If they got Hamlin, I almost wouldnt mind Dez at that point....did I just say that?? However no Hamlin, no Dez for me anyway...
I could see him at RT and moving Carey to RG; plus he gives you double-redundancy at LT in case of injuries. Carey struggled mightily at times last season, with both speed rushers and power rushers. Moving him to RG with Adams at RT would give the team one hell of a run surge on the right side.
No to both. Hamlin would be more of the same safety play we had last year. Personally I want to see what Culver can do. As for Adams, he is done. Bringing him in to move Carey to guard doesn't seem like a good idea. Carey played well last year for the most part considering he was battling knee and back injuries. If they want to sign team friendly deals, it might be worth a look but if they want decent sized contracts, I say pass.
I expect the FO to do their due diligence on both. But, out of the two, Hamlin is the one that I think has more to offer. He's in his prime (29), and a change of scenery might be just what he needs. I say bring him in for a work out, and if he looks good sign him to a short term incentive laden contract. JMHO...
carey's biggest struggle has always been keeping his weight down. if he could control that he would be a dominant player imo. he is still a keeper though. we dont need adams as you said. as for hamlin why not at least give him a sniff. cant really hurt considering the situation
Just say no to Hamlin !! I would much rather have Culver or draft E. Thomas then Hamlin. He is no better then Wilson.
As did Adams, worse. I saw a lot of Dallas games as I only get "local" on TV and he was abused all season. Let him go to Buffalo or something.
this and the fact that there aren't a whole lot of other options. soon there won't be anybody left worth justifying the release of Wilson before we had someone to replace him....imo
He could be our 2010 FS version of CB Eric Green last year. Sign him to a 1yr deal for a little more than veteran minimum and see how the draft shakes out. If we draft a good FS or two, then we can cut him later if we want.
doesn't it suck that OJ Atogwe and Antoine Bethea aren't available w/o tenders until June 1st...they could solve our problem at S real fast if we sign hamlin and he does average this season, I would be ok with that as long as we address it next year
