    ERIC BERRY

The Tampa Bay Buccanneers are pleased to add Eric Berry to their team. We believe he's an impact player in the Ed Reed mold. In fact, the main reason we brought in Darren Perry was with the intention of molding Eric Berry into the next great NFL Safety. We view him as one of the safest picks in the draft (no pun intended), and while a safety has never gone in the top three before, we felt like Berry was just too great a prospect to pass up.

When meeting him face to face, what impressed us most when meeting him was his build. He just looks the part of a football player. And when we saw the show he put on in Indianapolis at the Combine, our minds were pretty much made up.

Berry is a perfect fit for what we are trying to do defensively. He will fit the role as our "center fielder" in the Tampa 2. In a division in which passing is almost more important than running, we need someone who we could count on to make plays. And that's what Berry does. This kid just makes plays.

    CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r8q8aYIyFc"]YouTube- Eric Berry Highlights - The Incredible One[/ame]

With Berry we also love his consistency. Too often on film you see guys who take plays off, who go for the big hit instead of playing smart, fundamental football. We never got that impression with Eric. His work ethic is second to none, and he rarely, if ever, takes a poor angle or doesn't display fundamental tackling. That's something that will benefit him at this level. The dude never stops working.

The Bucs are more than happy to add Eric Berry to our team, and can't wait to see him on the field for us in the fall. We believe he will be difference maker for us for years to come.

    Dez Bryant

We are very happy to get the player at the top of the draft board and have now have all the tools to have the most explosive offense in the NFL. We have had extensive talks with this young man and feel like he had the same questions about him as Kenny Britt had last year. We feel that Dez is ready to work hard and with him, Kenny, Jason Avant, and Jared Cook and CJ out of the backfield there will be match up nightmares for opposing defenses all over the field.

With the sixth overall pick, the Seattle Seahawks select

    Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma

Wasn't really sure where to go with this pick until about ten minutes ago, honestly. I sat down and looked over some tape of Gerald McCoy and felt that his explosiveness off the line of scrimmage and versatility was too much to pass up. Further, an NFL Scout said you should never pass on an elite talent and that's what McCoy is IMO. Moreover, I felt that once I found out who was going second overall, I would have to start preparing for McCoy. Look over notes, look last tape and decide between him and another player.

Gerald McCoy's aforementioned explosiveness and initial quickness is outstanding. He does a great job penetrating into the backfield and makes plays down the line of scrimmage on his feet, which is what I seek. Anytime a defensive tackle can make plays laterally, he's got a ton of talent IMO. McCoy's got very good hand use and has a strong lower body. His upper body strength is not elite but once he hits the weight room, it can be. I felt that he had some Kevin Williams in him and I'm not going to pass that up. Having Gerald McCoy at the three technique along with Brandon Mebane at the one is something I look forward to.

    Welcome, Gerald McCoy.

He's taken an interesting route to the NFL Draft, starting out in Juco before coming back to UCF and destroying the competition this year. After watching this feature, and hearing about his family situation, I understand why he's coming out early.

    Scouting Report

    http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2010jpierrepaul.php

I actually like JPP the most out of all the pass rushing prospects in this year's NFL Draft. I think he's the most physically gifted of all the players coming out. There's questions over whether he's a one-year wonder, and if he can put it all together. I think he can, and if he does I see him as a terror at OLB - a bigger, stronger, faster version of DeMarcus Ware.

With the Eight Pick in the 2010 GML Draft, the Green Bay Packers Select ...

    C.J. Spiller
    Running Back from Clemson University

CJ Spiller may just be the most exciting playmaker in the entire draft. He's electric every time he touches the football, with a chance to take it to the house. Spiller will offer the Packers versatility as a RB, WR, KR, and PR. I think that he's got a very good chance to be NFL Rookie of the Year.

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxkNT9IxEu8"]YouTube- CJ Spiller Highlights - Speed Kills[/ame]

I believe Spiller will be a lethal combination of size (5'11, 196 lbs) and speed (4.37 40 yard dash) at this level. Think Chris Johnson with a dash of Percy Harvin thrown in for good measure. Some folks are concerned about his lack of size, but I think those fears will prove to be unfounded.

    Scouting Report

Green Bay gets the draft's premiere playmaker in CJ Spiller. He'll likely be the team's feature back in the fall, as well as handing return duties for the Packers.

    Buffalo Bills select:
    Notre Dame QUARTERBACK JIMMY CLAUSEN

Clausen just amassed one of the most impressive junior seasons among pro-style quarterbacks in the past 10-20 years.

Clausen had a very bad offensive line this year for Notre Dame. Sure, he had good weapons, but the running game was poor and receivers Michael Floyd and Kyle Rudolph missed significant action (eight games missed between them). When Floyd went out, Clausen stepped up. With a bum turf toe, he didn't play at all in the second half and led the team to a game-winning drive to beat Purdue. The following week, he posted 422 passing yards against Washington. Over the next three games (USC, Boston College, Washinton State), Clausen threw for 774 yards, six touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Clausen is a huge reason for Golden Tate's big season as well. While Tate is a talented player, he couldn't have done it without Clausen's extremely high level of accuracy.

One statistic that can't be discussed enough is Clausen's 7:1 touchdown-intercpetion ratio, which is absolutely unheard of among junior quarterbacks in pro-style offenses. This is just ridiculous. Clausen's touchdown-interception ratio puts Peyton Manning's 1996 season to shame. His completion percentage is a good five points ahead of Philip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger.

Clausen wasn't executing an easy scheme - he was executing the toughest scheme on the national stage. Every week the camera is on him, and every week he delivered. If Notre Dame's defense was just above average, this team would have won 10 games.

Numerous times, Clausen played through pain this season. He led his team in games in crunch time, and was without a doubt the most clutch quarterback in the nation this year. Clausen dominated opponents. He showed a very high football IQ and rarely forced the ball in coverage. The bottom line is Clausen certainly needs to be looked at as one of, if not the most polished junior quarterback prospect in the history of the NFL Draft. New Buffalo management is VERY excited about the prospects of Clausen, under the tutelage of Chad Pennington, can bring the Bills to prominence and once again have the camera on him every week and deliver...wins!

With the 12th pick in the draft, the Miami Dolphins are pleased to select:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQfcytu6ItI"]YouTube- DE Brandon Graham Highlights 2009 Michigan[/ame]

At a shade under 6-2, but a stocky 268 pounds, I'm not worried about the size here for him to play outside linebacker for me. 31 reps at the combine proves he has the upper body strength to handle offensive tackles. Ran a 4.69 40, proving he's fast enough for the position. And I think he's fluid enough to drop into coverage. In my opinion he is the best linebacker prospect in the draft. He's been compared to LaMarr Woodley and that's a good comparison. You watch the above tape and he's explosive, instinctive and has one of the highest motors I've seen in a long time. I’ve consistently seen back to back outstanding plays from him behind the line of scrimmage. Pay special attention to the Iowa footage. He's all over the opposition, again... and that opposition is Brian Bulaga at times. Then compare him to other players who have gone up against Bulaga, and Georgia Tech for example, had to move their premier pass rusher away from him. Also look at the plays at the end he makes against Ohio State and a very elusive Pryor.

Does he fit what Bill Parcells looks for in his linebackers from a size standpoint? What's an inch? I mean really, it's ridiculous. If the Dolphins take him in the real draft, I'll be beside myself with excitement.

Looking at how he fits on my team. Well I brought in Thomas Howard and Demeco Ryans to man the ILB spots and to also play all four downs. Neither player needs to be subbed for and that's part of the reason why I went Graham over that marquee ILB some will think I should have taken. Graham can play either OLB spot, opposite Cameron Wake. So I really like the sound of Graham/Howard/Ryans/Wake. I feel quite comfortable that I have upgraded the linebacker corps from what I inherited a couple of months ago.

With the thirteenth pick in the 2010 NFL GM League draft, the San Francisco 49ers select . . . . Bryan Bulaga, Offensive Tackle from the University of Iowa.

    Scouting report from Scott Wright:
Prototypical height and bulk --- Good Athlete --- Nimble Feet --- Moves well laterally --- Quick with terrific balance and agility --- A polished technician with fantastic footwork --- Understands positioning, angles and leverage --- Uses hands well --- Smart with top awareness --- Can protect the edge --- Physical and Aggressive --- Gets a decent push in the run game --- Effective in space and at second level --- Tough and is a finisher who plays with a nasty demeanor --- Hard Worker --- Leader
Was a three-year starter for the Hawkeyes --- Named 2nd Team All-Big Ten in 2008 and 1st Team in 2009 --- Honored as the 2009 Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year --- Also garnered some All-American notice in 2009 --- Began his college career at guard then moved to tackle --- Drew notice from coaches and teammates for his hustle and leadership while at Iowa --- Missed five games in 2007 with a shoulder injury that eventually required surgery --- Was forced to sit out the first three games of the 2009 season after being hospitalized with a thyroid condition --- Has the ability to play tackle and guard on both sides at the next level --- Impeccable pedigree and was coached by respected offensive line guru Kirk Ferentz --- An excellent all-around blocker who excels in the pass and run games --- Possesses an ideal blend of physical tools and intangibles -- Should be a 10-year starter in the NFL.

With the 18th selection in the NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select...

    DERRICK MORGAN, DE/OLB, GEORGIA TECH

Morgan is the most complete defense end in the draft and feel that he can make the transition to a 3-4. His ability to rush the passer and defend the run made it a no-brainer for the Patriots to trade up.

While many feel that Morgan cannot play outside linebacker at 3-4, the Patriots front office feel that they can prove them wrong. Many of those same people said that Dolphins left tackle Jake Long was strictly a right tackle in the NFL... With Morgan's work ethic and athleticism, he will be a big part of the Patriots defense.

With the twenty-first pick in the 2010 GM League NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select . . . . Golden Tate, wide receiver from the University of Notre Dame.

A scouting report from Scott Wright:
Outstanding athleticism --- Good bulk with a solid frame --- Excellent speed and quickness --- Nice balance and agility --- Strong, reliable hands and intense focus --- Amazing ball skills --- Great leaping ability and body control --- Extremely elusive with terrific vision and is a terror in space --- Will run through and break a lot of tackles --- Great awareness --- Very tough, aggressive and competitive --- Supremely confident --- Is also a fantastic return man and offers a lot of versatility.
Was a two-year starter for the Fighting Irish --- Father, Golden Tate, Jr., played wide receiver at Tennessee State and was a 5th Round pick of Indianapolis Colts in 1984 NFL Draft --- Won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top receiver in 2009 --- Garnered 1st Team All-American honors in 2009 --- Also excelled on the baseball diamond as an outfielder in college and was drafted in the 42nd round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks --- Played running back in high school and many of those traits are still apparent in his game today --- Arguably the most prolific wideout in Notre Dame history despite playing just three seasons and has his name all over the school record books --- Plays much bigger than his size would suggest --- A dangerous all-around weapon who is a threat to score every time he touches the ball, whether it be as a receiver, runner, return man or even a "Wildcat" quarterback --- May never be a true #1 at the next level but should excel as a #2 option or better yet in the slot --- Compares quite favorably to the Carolina Panthers Steve Smith.

With the 22nd pick, the Pittsburgh Steelers select Jared Odrick, DE/NT, Penn St.

When our pick was up at 18, we had three players who we had targetted that were all available. Being happy to get any of the three we moved back to 22 under the assumption that one or two of them may still be there. To our surprise all three were still sitting there waiting to be taken. After some tough thought, we honored our board and went with a player that we felt was not only the best available, but that would also help our team quite a bit right off the bat. After dealing away Aaron Smith and Ziggy Hood, we were content at DE, but felt we needed to add some more talent there. We feel we added the best 5 technique in the draft in Odrick, as well as a player we feel can move inside to the nose to spell Casey Hampton as well as come in on 3rd downs to provide some push from the inside.

With the 23rd pick of the 2010 NFL draft, the Indianapolis Colts select: Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma

    http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2010jgresham.php

2010 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Jermaine Gresham

    # Jermaine Gresham, 6-6/260

    # Tight End

    # Oklahoma

    Jermaine Gresham Scouting Report
    By Matt McGuire

    # Strengths: Great height and long arms
    # NFL-level strength and bulk
    # Hands catcher
    # Very athletic
    # Terror in red zone
    # Good focus when making catch
    # Tough to bring down in open field
    # Speed to stretch field vertically
    # Mismatch for linebackers
    # Great Y.A.C.
    # Knows how to settle in zone
    # Versatile; can line up in slot
    # Highly productive
    # Beats the jam at line of scrimmage
    # Wide receiver in tight end's body
    # High points the football
    # Elite level upside

    Weaknesses:
    # Route running needs to be sharper in NFL
    # Not very physical in the blocking department
    # Gets too high in run blocking
    # Occasionally exposed with ball security
    # Torn ACL from high school needs to be evaluated
    # Minor durability concerns
    # Sometimes lacks great effort
    # Timed speed isn't great (4.73 reported on Oklahoma official site)

Summary: Gresham is a first-round caliber tight end prospect and will make one team very explosive in the passing game at his position. He has the size and strength to be a better blocker, but this can be coached up in the NFL and often is. I'd like to see him fine tune his routes in his senior season.

Player Comparison: Tony Gonzalez. I hate to compare Gresham to one of the best tight ends of all time, but I am limited because tight ends of Gresham's caliber are very rare with his size, athleticism and production.

with the 31st pick in the 2010 GM league draft the Indianapolis Colts select: Bruce Campbell LT Maryland

    http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2010bcampbell.php

    # Strengths: Prototypical length and frame
    # Athletic freak
    # Displays good flexibility
    # Smooth, fluid hips
    # Outstanding ability to adjust, mirror, and recover
    # Elite agility and speed
    # Great in pass protection
    # Nice awareness; head on swivel and picks up blitz
    # Good hands; extends and locks on
    # Light on his feet
    # Instinctual
    # Solid run blocker
    # Love his footwork
    # Ridiculously high upside
    # Room to develop strength and body mass
    # Elite skill set

Click here to find out more!

    Weaknesses:
    # Inexperienced - only 17 career starts
    # Too upright in pass protection
    # Natural knee bender?
    # Plays with narrow base
    # Legit durability concerns

Summary: Consider Bruce Campbell the Jason Smith of the 2010 NFL Draft class. His stock will be soaring through the roof once we get to the Combine, however, he is more of a natural pass protector than Smith. With more experience, he could become a Pro Bowl left tackle at the next level. Of course, you have to consider his long list of injuries, but he'll likely be taken in the top 16 picks.

Player Comparison: Branden Albert. Albert and Campbell have great physical tools, but I think Campbell is more of a natural left tackle. Both were raw offensive tackle prospects.

    BRANDON LAFELL

After selecting Eric Berry in round 1, we decided that we needed to focus on the offense, and go out and get Josh Freeman a potential #1 receiving target. Keep in mind in a Norv Turner offense size is probably the most important attribute (see Michael Irvin, Vincent Jackson, etc.), and LaFell measured a legit 6’2 ½ at the NFL Combine earlier this year. He’s also very good at producing YAC and isn’t afraid to go over the middle for the tough catch. We are very high on Brandon, as he was the #2 WR on our board after Dez Bryant.

There are concerns about LaFell’s route running, but we feel like this is something that can be corrected with proper coaching. He’s also known to be somewhat immature, which can lead to dropped passes. Like the consistent route-running, we feel that this is something we can work through. Honestly LaFell has just tons of potential and for us that outweighed his drawbacks as a receiver. Granted, there were better route-runners on the board, but they just don’t have the same upside as LaFell. With work, he has the ability to put it all together and be a true #1 target in the NFL.

I’ve had the opportunity to watch a couple of LSU games, and LaFell is one of those guys who just jumps out at you when you watch him on tape. The game that really stands out to me is the LSU / Arkansas classic from last season, in which LaFell made 4 catches for 70 yards, including a TD. It wasn’t the most dominant performance that I’d ever seen, but every one of LaFell’s catches were tough and impressive.

    CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYCjP8cqe1w"]YouTube- Brandon LaFell 2010 NFL Draft Highlights[/ame]

While admittedly still a raw prospect, LaFell reminds me a lot of similar big and physical receivers. The easy comparison is to fellow Tiger Dwayne Bowe, but I also see traces of big play receivers Vincent Jackson and Brandon Marshall in his game. Also, like Jackson and Marshall, LaFell was taken after the first round, which may put a chip on his shoulder and encourage him to elevate his game in the fall.

    SCOUTING REPORT

    http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2010blafell.php

With our defense pretty much set, we had to turn to the offensive side of the ball. The obvious spot to upgrade at was wide receiver. While there were a number of options available to us, we feel that Brandon LaFell offers arguably the most upside of any receiver left in the draft at this point. We’re very excited to get him working in an offense that turned Michael Irvin and Vincent Jackson into super stars. We’re hoping to have similar results with LaFell in 2010 and beyond.

With the 36th pick in the 2010 GM Draft, I pick:

    Juan Juron....QB from WhatsamattaU

    Seriously,

    Center/Guard, FLORIDA

    Maurkice Pouncey.

    Scott Wright wrights:

Major downsides that everybody pretty much summed up is that he hasnt taken many Pro-set snaps.. Well, with Ryan Kalil manning the Center, he wont have to. He will more than likely surplant Reggie Wells as the starter from day one. He also adds depth to the Center position and even at RT if needed.

Really really didnt intend to spend my first 2 picks on Oline, but with a QB by committee, they should be able to buy some time for whomever to get the ball to Fitz and Breaston. Will also help open up some serious holes for Beannie, Caddy and Javon Ringer.

Love his instincts and leadership ability. Sean is a solid pick for me here as I feel it's best available and a position of need for me. This will allow Thomas Howard to be free on the outside as I was never sold on him being an ILB in my 34 defense. And now the linebacker core is fully rebuilt. Wake/Howard/Graham on the outside and Lee/Ryans/Keyaron Fox on the inside. My defensive coordinator who came over from the Steelers will have plenty of tools at his arsenal to create pressure on the quarterback, inside and out. If he wants to play a 43, I think we have the players to do that too.
