I was really really really really really really close to taking McClain at 16. But, I am actually pretty good at MLB, and my guy really is a perfect fot for my O-line and team make-up.
Had I stayed at 17 I would have taken him but Im pretty comfortable with my ILB situation. Getting a 3 and 5 to move down 6 spots kinda made that decision even easier.
Based on my needs, Thomas was the best value for me at #10. Ideally, I wanted to trade down a few spots and still take him, but I couldn't find a partner. I have no problem with Earl Thomas at #10.
I had an offer on the table to move down as well. I woul have accepted the final offer, cept I had my pick in before he made it. Its all good, I am very happy with my pick.
I honestly think he's gonna be a top-notch Safety in the right scheme. He's not a guy you build a defense around, but if you already have a few key pieces around him, your defense just got much much better. He is number 3 on my wish list for us to pick at the 12.
I didnt expect him to be anywhere near me when I picked so when I logged on and saw that he was there I looked up the DVC and had to shoot out an offer. Fills a big void for me and may actually push me back to a 3-4 defense the more I look at it.... I can use Davis and McClain inside with Williams and Ayers on teh outsides
Nothing like logging on and seeing a bunch of picks have been made ... it's almost like Christmas. Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
like I said via PM I didn't expect him to be there either or I would have passed on one of my fa ilb. It was a solid pick and a fair offer
I think McClain lasting as long as he did is a mild surprise. I didn't take him because of what I said in my Graham writeup. I reckon the Steelers would have taken him at 18. ALthough I haven't checked his roster. Good tradeup by Denver. And a nice return by Indy who seem to have a billion picks. Yet, they don't need a wr, although they'll gladly take Roddy White off the Falcons' hands.. I'm curious as to if Seattle even considered McClain at 14, they only have three linebackers (are they happy with all three as starters?) What's your take on McClain alen? It's fine that you are high on Hughes, had Hughes not been there, would you have taken McClain, or looked at another player?
well there's a big difference between trading for a stud wr like white and overdrafting an unproven player like Tate 10-12 spots before he should go.
Waiting for people to pick is like trying to sleep on Christmas Eve. Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
Isn't he about over his time limit? EDIT: If so, I suggest the committee take into consideration Jaun Huron for his pick. Big Ben is one bad night away from Prison, and he's gonna need a solid QB.
And if the next 2 picks don't go quick, I most likely won't be around until near the end of my time. Which is 7 p.m.
My pick will be immediately after 24/7. I'll be giving the committee my 2 options if I have to leave before 24/7 picks.
Sorry guys. Just got back home after last night. I'm on west coast time. I know pretty much who I'd take, but I want to play with some offers I have real quick. If nothing comes of it, I'll make my pick.
that's not west coast time, that's the weekend - I'm going out tonight - I don't care what happens - time... no problemo, you have plenty of time, don't listen to az... if anyone wants to leave their list with a committee member they are always welcome to, in order to keep things moving, but it's entirely up to them.
Haha, yeah, that too. I still feel a little bad. I made you guys wait a while. I'm usually pretty quick to get my picks in, just happened to be a bad (well, good for me) weekend. I tried to move as quick as I could though now that I'm back (for a little while). If these next few picks come fairly quickly my pick should come in right away.
Man, I feel a little "icky" that I allowed the Pats to come up and get Morgan. Great pick at this spot though.
Real solid pick IMO. I think the trend of teams moving to a 3-4 pushes him down a little bit in many draft discussions, but I think he's going to be a very good player and would be an excellent pick for Atlanta in the real draft.
Love it, absolutely love Weatherspoon for you there. Too bad our Phins aren't running a 43, because he's the perfect fit.
