Before the new DS XL hits stores, what does Nintendo do? Announce the next DS: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6254031.html They know idiots will run and buy anything with the word "Nintendo" on it that's new so they're not even worried about this affecting the XL's sales. I think it's funnah
Jesus what do they do release a new DS every year? I've lost count they must be up to like 5 DS models now.
I'm sorry, but 3D--not the use of polygons, but the 3D technology being pimped mindlessly right now--is just so incredibly useless. It truly is a gimmick. To me, it's utterly appropriate that Nintendo would embrace this crap.
Agreed. But as always, if the games are there, I'll be too. The real question is whether or not this is just another DS iteration or a true successor.
agreed. If it's another DS that somehow adds 3D... I'm pissed. If it's a new console, then i'd be a tad more receptive. Then at least I know their engineers are doing something besides how to *** rape the world for old tech.
Honestly, it's about time for the DS' successor to make its debut. We've had the DS since 2004. It's still going strong, but it's generally run its course. One possible translation of a passage in the Japanese announcement is "compatibility cart," which might signal that backwards compatibility with the DS is achieved by inserting the DS card into an adapter and inserting the adapter into the 3DS... which would hint at it being a brand-new device, rather than just a recycle. I imagine that 3DS refers to it being the third DS remake (DS Lite, DS XL, 3DS) and a DS with a 3D display. Double reference. Hope I'm wrong.
Well, they do have to find a way to continue to sell 700,000 a month. Who the hell is buying these? Honestly, it's like people are going in to the grocery store, buying milk, eggs and a DS.
I'm excited about the possibilities. I mean, c'mon. 3D gameplay without the need for special glasses? Thumbstick FINALLY? Too sweet. I bought the Virtual Boy way back when (still break it out from time to time), and it was crap. Red and black crap. But this, this could be what Gunpei set out to do, but could not with the VB. Bring on the first-party titles in 3D, I say!
check it out...not sure if it's real but looks kinda cool i guess [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_P4gyjf5tQ"]YouTube- Nintendo 3DS - What the Nintendo 3DS Games will look like![/ame]
