i thought his 90's movies were funny. now i just get tired of his same old character: the nice innocent guy that can't catch a break but always gets the girl in the end. I loved it with the Happy Gilmore/Billy Madison movies, now he is just annoying.

his SNL characters though? priceless.

 

I guess we will agree to disagree. I thought Billy Madison was a pile o' poo, personally. Happy Gilmore can be sat through...barely. I think the only movies I think I have enjoyed that star Adam Sandler are Big Daddy and...I think there is another one that I can think of right now, which shows you how much I like him.

I don't think his Saturday Night Live stuff was funny, but then again, I don't really like sketch comedy so I am probably not the right person to judge it.

comedy is comedy, my man.... and i guess what one thinks is funny is just dependent on how big his or her sense of humor is.

Its certainly subjective. I also don't really like too many "traditional" sitcoms either. They are just so formulaic and unfunny to me. My probalem with a lot of sketch comedy is that you are given such limited time to make someone laugh within a sketch (usually a couple of minutes) that it makes it almost impossible to have a backstory, quality setup or anything else that makes someone invest into the character/situation. That leads to, in my opinion, over the top antics to try and squeeze any type of reaction out of the crowd.

Sometimes it works, most of the time for me, it falls flat. But to each his own. I don't listen to country music, but I don't fault those who do.

 

I say we all throw some alanis morissette in the juke box....(who DOESNT like that?) and jello wrestle.....everyone game?

Wish I could. Going out tomorrow night in San Fran to support local music and get drunk (for the first time in forever). Then on Sat. night my sister's 30th birthday party is upon us, so drinking will commence then too.
