Too many times, the media always focuses on the big names of any franchise, and there are many players that have played that were Pretty Damn Good in their own right.. So the question is:

Who is a former Dolphins player that you want fans of other teams to know about?

I plan to do a show called "The Hall of Very Good" which will include a team by team pick of "Who You Should Know About"

These are some good picks! To the above poster... more obscure guys that had a pretty good career with the tesm.

What you think about Tim Bowens?

I am going to say Zach Thomas too,he is often forgotten but he was a true team leader and always gave everything he had to this team. I would also say Jake Scott,he was before my time but he sounded like a great free safety and a big part in helping us win those Super Bowls,it is a shame I don't hear his name more often.

I would definitely say Jim Crash Jensen the guy did everything and even sold popcorn the stands. Even Wes Welker had nothing on Crash.

Dwight's in the HOF. I wouldn't call him very good...I'd say he was great...

My vote would be John Offerdahl. The guy was the best MLB this team has ever had, but rarely gets recognized for it...

Another in my mind and memories is Crash Jensen...the original 'slash'...

My favorite Fins are AJ Duhe and Bob Baumhower...they were really fun to watch. The 83 game against the jests in the mud at the OB....can't touch that...

I don't think people give Paul Warfield enough credit. Here's a WR who is one of the five best ever and nobody ever mentions him. Arguably, he's right behind Jerry Rice, but nobody outside of Miami remembers him b/c we threw so little.

I also agree with Dwight Stephenson. Him and Warfield were among the best ever to play the game and despite being HOF players most non-dolphin fans have never heard of them.

The third guy for me would be Offerdahl. Great LB who was good enough to be a HOF player but was on crappy teams and then had his career cut short by injury.

I wouldn't list these guys as just "very good". IMO they were great but are too often forgotten outside of Miami.

Louis Oliver, John Offerdahl are both favorites of mine. My alltime favorite hands down is Jim Jensen. Whatever you needed Jensen could do it. There should be a category in the Hall of Fame for guys who could do and did do it all. Amazing guy!

Thanks EmDiggy for this timely post, which to me appears to be less about which player — of whom I can see no one more clearly definitive, nor as befittingly subject to our immediate, and increasing attention than Zach Thomas — but posing instead to every self respecting dolphan the question, "What are you prepared to do about it?"

In the minds of fans from other teams around the league, Zach won for himself widespread praise and respect, and as nearly absolute as Marino's presense revealed our strength to be offensive, Zach's career, would in large part, determine it would be a defensive one.

Most however, will never know, or recognize what Zach ultimately brought here, and while Marino already enjoys an immortal sense in the HOF, Zach's potential future recognition by comparisen, and by no fault of his own, appears to have already dimmed to say the least.

Zach wants to be signed, and recognized for one more day.
Hopefully plans are being made to at least honor this meager request,

if not, what will you be prepared to do about it?
