WOW i just won a battle with Dupree 27-24 The Ravens D injured Reggie Bush for 8 weeks so now i have to rely on Drew Brees's arm to win games Dupree's kicker missed two 50+ yard fg which kept me in the game. This was Urlacher 1st game in a saints Uni and he catches the game winning pick

Sounds like game of the week delivered, poor Dupree and his brutal schedule to start the year.

haha We haven't played inside the franchise, but the one time we played I hit a FG as time expired to win. You don't need extra motivation, I take it back.

Last time we played I went and watched Star Wars when he went on offense.

Episode 1, 2, 3, and half of 4...

 

Against people I just fold. I let up big 4th down plays and I throw interceptions trying to come back. Only against poor, poor BPK did I come back and that took a miracle.

I HATE the accelerated clock feature. I get more delay penalties because of that stupid feature.

 

Bears are set to beat the **** out of the lions tomorrow evening (as my track record indicates :P)

Doesnt have two owners even listed. It is missing any info on Chargers (SantaClaus/B0$$ TYC00N$????) and Texans (Ilwakeair)

I can get mine in tonight as well, just depends on if Ash can play.

 

He quit on me at the end of the second quarter while I was up 21-7, driving for another score. He said at the start he was having lag issues, mine was fine, I chose not to count the game.

I'd have gladly put it off for another time from the start when he was having issues. I have to admit I'm a bit ticked he didnt at least tell me it was too much, and ask to play a different time. He just flat out quit on me.

Brother, there's a reason I don't play online much...and that's because I don't particularly enjoy fanboys going dink and dunk to their wide open HB every other play, and I don't enjoy stopping guys going for it on 4th and 7.

I was under the impression that this we'd be in a gentlemen's league and weed out the riff raff and play relatively close to what football is. Apparently I was wrong.

When we first started it timed out on us.

I told you it was laggy..you said it was not that bad. So I kept plugging away through your first series, missing tackles until i got the ball. There's a reason my QB got hit 3 straight times (your DL isn't that good)...it's because I had a 1 second delay from every button I pushed. I'd throw to a WR and end up getting smacked before I got the ball off. Not fun. I told you this, and got no response. I even took a delay of game from the fringe of FG range to let you know but meh. No biggie.

I figured "what the hell it's not his fault" and kept plugging anyway, unable to complete passes, run the ball, or make tackles....not incredibly fun.

But the tipping point was when you went Pop warner on me. Going for it on 4th and 1 from the Goal line...ok, I'll accept that. Going for it on 4th and 2 from your 37 in a close game irks me a bit, but I kept going. But going for it on 4th and 7 from my 37 yard line with 37 seconds to go in the half?

Sorry buddy, I'm not here to prop up your ego. I'll sit there and grit my teeth being handicapped with lag, but I'm not going to sit there and watch you go Pop Warner on me when you know fair well it's not a level playing field. I've got better things to do quite honestly.

I can take getting my teeth kicked in (evidenced by my previous game) but I have no desire to sit through that crap. If I wanted bull**** plays and calls I'd get Madden Arcade. I play games for fun, and trying to hold someone to 10 yards in 4 downs ain't that.

 

My kicker can't make a field goal from more than like 40 yards out. My choices were to punt, probably get a touchback and gain 17 yards of field position or go for it.

I don't run up scores. You can ask Mor. Once I get up, I just start running the ball usually. Which was my plan for the entire second half if I had the lead. You could have just asked to play another time, which would have been completely fine with me. All I said was my end wasnt lagging.

Whats funny is that at the end of the half, guess what I was trying to do? Get closer for a FG because my kicker SUCKS.

Also I think I threw it to my HB like once. It was a screen pass, and you stopped it. So I have no idea what you are talking about.

 

ok guys lets relax. and for the record (iam not saying you did this alex, and i havent played you) but lets try to be as realistic as possible. if you

A. dont think the dolphins would do it on gameday

B. would be pissed if they did it on gameday...

then dont do it in madden. lets try to play realistically.

 

I can pretty much tell you every play I used during the game if it comes to a hearing they're the same plays I use against BPK and Nappy and everyone else.

If anything, I could see being mad going for it. But in all seriousness, on his side of the field. His 35 yard line, its too short to punt and too long to kick for my kicker who is terrible. Especially the second time with 39 seconds left. I think most NFL teams WOULD go for it, or try the long field goal (which I knew I couldnt make) because even if you dont get it, he doesnt have enough time to score.

If the lag was THAT bad (my side lagged too, but it wasnt unplayable, or any more than usuall) I'd have gladly played another time. If he has issue with my play calling...all I can say is tough luck, because I didn't do anything cheesy. If the issue is going for it, it was the best option in the situations IMO.

BPK went for it in EVERY short yardage situation our first game. I dont think he punted once. I didnt complain about it...because it was a good call to do so.

 

(this is just in relation to that 30-35 yard line range) Not all of us are great kickers and I know for one I'm sure as **** not going to try a 52 yard field goal just to give them the ball back on the 35, or punt and give it back potentially on the 20 if I can take the risk of making a play and moving into fg range. Not all the time mind you, if I were up by some huge score I would possibly try one of the two kicks but I'm not going to lose a competitive game over going for a short 4th down from that fringe range on the field.
(I lose games in whole different creative ways )

 

The last one, I was up by two scores. However there was only 39 seconds left in the half. I didn't think he could drive 65 yards in 39 seconds if he stopped me, which is why I went ahead and passed the ball. Also I was up by two scores, only because I made an interception at the goal line. He drove the ball on me, it wasnt that lopsided.

also for the record.....incase we come up with another problem like someone dropping connection again in the middle of the game. if its before the 4th quarter do NOT finish the game, quit and play again. it may have been a connection issue. if the guys losing and its the 4th quarter? finish and win. but if there is a legit shot the guy who left the game could have came back....lets give everyone the benefit of the doubt they arent being cheap, **** happens.

can we all agree on that? or do you peeps got a problem with it?

for example: me and barry are playing....iam up 17-10 in the 3rd quarter. he gets disconnected. i will quit as well, because A. its early still B. he could have came back C. we wanna win fairly, and against a human the entire game no?

example #2: me and barry are playing.....4th quarter 3 mins to go....iam up 21-10.....he gets disconnected. ill continue and finish the game.

also if the 4th just started, or you know they are having connection problems, use your own judgement. its just a video game, i dont expect people to cheat to win. i just won a superbowl and believe me.....no one gives a ****

I'm 100% on board with your plan but even the 21-10 example has a lot of variables. What if Barry were on your 2 yard line with potential to make it 21-17 with 2:55 left? all of a sudden that's a winnable game.

I would only continue playing if there is a 14 point lead with less than half the 4th quarter left personally.

what about the other side of that coin though. What if the person in the lead disconnects?

Personally if I'm down 14 and the other person disconnects with a few minutes left I'm jumping for joy because i'm confident in my ability to come back on the computer. (mostly)

 

i think its a situational thing. but honestly.....if i have played 3 1/2 quarters...and i have a 11 point lead and the dude disconnnects....iam finishing it. that sucks. people dont have all day to play. i just thought there needed to be some kind've understanding with everyone incase the situation arises.

Also when it comes to the person winning getting disconnected, that sucks.........i dont know how to handle that honestly....any ideas everyone?

Sick I didn't finish my game against the Bears because I wanted to give him every chance to play it, and I knew he had lag issues.

I'm more than willing to play again against him. However I won't change the plays I run because one person doesn't like them, especially when three other users saw NOTHING wrong with them. My two biggest plays were play action passes down the middle of the field to my wide receiver. I ran one halfback screen, which he stuffed, and an out route which I had no idea was "cheesy". They stopped running outs in the NFL? Also if it comes to a 4th and medium situation where its too long for my kicker, and punting provides no advantage...sorry I'm going for it. It only makes sense.

Speaking of egos, it's not my job to keep the game neck and neck for someone. Not saying I'd run it up, but I'm not going to NOT play at the beginning because I'm afraid to hurt your feelings man.

So it's up to you SICK.

I'm not having the game simmed...I was winning by a good amount, about to make it more. If he doesn't want to play, I should get to play the computer of a forfeit.

I'm giving him the option of having no bad will between us. I didn't mean to do whatever I did that made him angry, but I'm not going to give him a game for free. If we sim it he will win...I'm the damn Lions
