I just wanted to ask the question...If the Dolphins do not draft a OLB in the first round, which of the remaining OLBs would u prefer.

I havent looked into the draft much but I like Dakota Washington(FSU) or whatever his name is. But Please let me know what you think

I know I started the Spiller - McCluster debate thread just having fun but I think our 1st rounder needs to be at NT. They are very rare out of the draft and there is a few good ones to be had.

With that said; your question is a tough one for many reasons. There are gobs of talent at LB in this draft and even some of the quick DE's could be used at OLB or even ILB. This is a very tough question.

My personal favorite in the OLB department is Daryl Washington, TCU. People like Sergio Kindle, Texas or Jason Pierre-Paul, South Florida could be used multiple ways and could play both DT or OLB.

There is all kinds of talent available in this draft which looks to be custom made for the Dolphins this year. The last time I saw a draft this impressive we drafted "The Killer B's" way back when. I am really very excited about this upcoming season. I think we will be pleasantly surprised.

I would be happy if we got him with our 2nd. He may get scooped up sooner, but I am holding out hope he falls to us.

I say trade Greg Camarillio and/or Thigpen of White for a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

I would like to see the Phins pick up Terence Cody in the 2nd round

We really are in a good spot because we have so many options and a very good draft position. The deals that we could make with a little imagination just boggle the mind.

OLB's are being forecast all over the place. Jerry Hughes from TCU is being touted as a 1st round pick but he can easilly fall to round two. Same with Ricky Sapp. There should be some excellent OLB talent when we pick in round two.

I really think this Derrick Morgan rumor is for real though. I don't think we'll be picking OLB at 43 especially any WOLBs like Sapp and to a lesser degree perhaps even Hughes.

Well, I think we need more speed at Lb, whomever we take, last yr the Lb's were as good as lawn chairs in pass coverage, only JT was even remotely effective.

I would hate to trade Camarillo. We were lucky enough to "replace" Welker with Bess. Won't happen again.

With Hartline, Bess and Ginn and with Patrick Turner learning the system I think Camarillo is expendable. I like having him on the team but if we could get a 3rd rounder for him in this draft I'd do it in a heartbeat. We have a logjam at receiver besides the elusive 1st wideout and we have lots of needs on defense that this draft is deep in. An extra 3rd rounder in THIS draft could be an extra starter at ILB or NT.

Well I certainly hope we add SOMEONE to that list.

But yes Cammy and or Turner are expandable.

Yeah, he played MLB, but will most likely be moved to WILL in a 3-4. I like him, he has great athleticism running a sub 4.6 in the 40, but not exactly what we are looking for in the draft unless we moved Dansby to the SAM.

I was high on him and had read that he may be moved to OLB in the pros, but most likely he wont and will be a WILL and that is not one of our pressing needs.

Especially if they were in a hallway. :wink2:

Anyway, back on topic, I think there will be many OLB options later in the draft. That's why even though I like Morgan, I hope we don't go OLB at #12.

One guy who might be interesting is Brandon Spikes. I know he's an ILB, but I think he has the flexibility to play OLB too. And we all know how much this regime likes versatility.

    Well away from here
As people have watched more of him , they see a guy who plays a little bigger than he is physically. There has been talk of him possibly going to a 3-4 team.

He'd probably fill the same role Dansby is supposed to do now; be the more athletic of the two inside linebackers in a 3-4. The big question is how much weight will his frame allow him to carry effectively. He's added a few pounds already and he just around 230 now. His play isn't the question IMO, it's his ability to hold up due to weight concerns.

I'm updating the player rankings today and tomorrow. Wanted to have more done, but I ended up giving myself a high ankle sprain at my son's soccer practice. Just wanted to do nothing.

Hughes is likely to go in the first or if he has a bad day, the early second round. He will likely creep a little higher as the draft gets closer. He tested well, and his speed off the edge is very, very good. And, he just moves so fluidly for a man his size. He easily moves the best out of any convert prospect IMO.

I just refuse to live quietly my man. I coach kids soccer, I'm doing little league in 3 weeks, I run, I work out, (when my knees allow me, although I do have to take time off here and there). When I can't walk, thats when I'll stop moving.

My wife says it best: You live hard.

I don't expect Camarillo to command a 3rd round pick. That's why I said if he did I'd do it in an instant. But I do think Cam is expendable now. Mainly he's a depth player.

I like Graham, but no team has a relentless pass rush in the NFL. Teams pass the ball too quickly. The best pass rush was from the Jets and they did it mostly by scheme and causing confusion. The fact is that the Dolphins last year were a top 10 pass team. Anybody we add at OLB is not going to significantly improve the pass rush pressure. I really think the expectations of those that are pushing for OLB in the first is out of whack with the actual impact that position will have on our won/loss record.

Koa Misi is one of my favorites right now. I like Misi in the 2nd. Thaddeus Gibson is another. Guys I like in the later rounds are Robert Johnson from Rutgers, Kevin Basped from Nevada, and Dexter Davis from Arizona State. Few others just can't remember their names at the moment. If we can come up with Misi in the 2nd with like an Earl Thomas or Dez Bryant in the first I'd be one happy man.

You like Misi as an OLB or ILB? Maybe it's just me but I think he might be best fit at ILB.

Also, Basped scares me. That dude doesn't seem to play with the light bulb on.
