Oh I definitely agree. One of the reasons I love Dansby is because he's so versatile. He should be moved around and I know Nolan will make sure of it. I was just curious about the weak side/strong side thing.
The 3-4 inside linebacker who plays on the strongside or (T)ight end side of the formation. I don't know what other coaches have used but Arnsparger was one of them. Unfortunately, there's more than one way to name the 3-4 linebackers. Jack can mean the weakside inside LB, or one is "P" for the backer who plugs a gap while the other runs free or "B" for buck and so on.
I think we have to remember that Dansby has been playing outside a lot longer than he's played inside. http://www.thephins.com/2010/02/28/karlos-dansby-miamis-target-at-strongside-linebacker/ Basically, Dansby has three years on the strongside (six if you include college, where he was a 2x All-American), two on the weakside and one in the middle. The Dolphins are reportedly high on him for both the strongside and inside. I think where he lines up will depend on who else we acquire. But he'll absolutely be on the field all three downs.
An OLB in a 3-4? What exactly can Weatherspoon do? I would not want Weatherspoon on this team as an inside player at all. Weatherspoon is not a guy who will handle the trash on the inside that well, nor will he do well against offensive linemen on a regular basis.
A Saban is a lying Satanic creature that will suck the life out of your NFL team, by bad drafts only going after SEC players. Horrible QB evaluation, and then after he has sent you to the depths of NFL Hell where only teams like the Browns, Raiders and Lions roam. He will have a crying press conference spewing pathetic excuses as to why he is leaving. Claiming his heart is in college football when everyone knows Satan has no heart!
Great Post. I expect Dansby to start at ILB and then in nickel and dime packages he'll move around. Inside, outside, etc. He's going to be that wildcard LB and you better know where he is. He'll be the guy QB's are pointing at all of the time.
I only hope QBs like Brady and Sanchez are pointing at him with tears in their eyes saying he hurt me!
I love the idea of Dansby playing both ILB and OLB. Very valuable. I think he will play mostly ILB though because we were so awful at that position and Dansby has the speed and ability to make the plays that Crowder and Ayodele couldn't. Taylor and Porter weren't awful, it's just that they're old and at the tail end of their careers, and I'd expect them to draft a replacement early in the draft. I guess we'll know exactly where Dansby will mostly play at LB after the draft.
Dansby says he'll play inside Dansby is now telling the beat writers that he's indeed an inside guy. He and Crowder are penciled in right now.
Yep , i was just about to post that..............I'd still play him the way i said but whatever i'm just happy he's here.
