If he got 5/37, it makes me feel better about 5/43 for Dansby.

I think you're gonna see a lot of "highest paid x in NFL history" this season. Already seen the higest paid DT last year, DE, S and LB this year.

I hope we can sign Sharper...I'd rather have him then Rolle.

Correct me if I am wrong but I heard on the radio that NE made Wilfork the highest paid DT. Not sure if that was all time or just this year.

Why do people keep misspelling Atogwe 's-h-a-r-p-e-r'?

Wasn't a fan of Rolle's anyways. Much rather have Ryan Clark or wait to draft Earl Thomas.

40/5 25 G is nothing on Stompy's deal.... Realistically Stompy signed a 3 yr 45M contract.... he has a "poision pill" for the rest of it.

Also am wondering about Brodney Pool. I know he has concussion problems but was definitely playing well last year.

funny thing is, we gave Porter 20 million garaunteed, and 3 years later, we gave a much better player, basically the same amount garaunteed.. I think we got Dansby at a good price

I think Miami got a good player for a decent deal with Dansby, don't get me wrong. It's just always a little worrisome when the contract in question sets a new mark for highest paid player in the league at a position.

I see your point, it just makes me feel a little better that we paid him the same thing we paid Porter and Poster couldnt hold Dansby jock strap.. I thought he was the 3rd highest paid linebacker. Its still alot, but I think we all would agree we desperately needed an upgrade

Well thank god we didn't sign him. I like Rolle, he's a good player, but he certainly isn't highest paid safety in NFL history good.

I'd rather simply overpay Atogwe, Clark, or Sharper than to make Antrel Rolle the highest paid safety in the NFL. I don't even see the difference between Rolle and any of the other three mentioned, aside from age when in comparison with Sharper. Yes, he's a ball hawk and he creates turnovers, but take this from a Hurricanes homer myself... he's severely overrated on here. The guy blows so many assignments it's not funny. He gets beat a lot because of how much he gambles, too. I wanted Rolle, but only with the hometown discount. I don't think he's that much better than Atogwe, if at all better.

    Oh please no!

    1. Signing cast offs from the Browns, Raiders or Lions is hardly a upgrade.
    2. He is one more concussion from being a bobblehead!
    3. And I can say this after watching every Browns game in 2009 GERBIL>Pool and I can't believe I said that! Remember the last play of the Browns Lions game? Yep that bonehead play was Pool!
