http://www.rotoworld.com/content/clubhouse_news.aspx?sport=NFL&majteam=MIA Didn't see it posted Basically if the Fins can't sign Rolle they will look at signing Sharper
I don't understand why he'd be a "fallback option". He was the best FS last year, even including Ed Reed.
I am OK, with that. I don't think Berry, or Thomas slip till 12 and if he creates 75% of the plays he did in 2009 we win 4 more games easy! I am just so glad GERBIL is gone!!!
I'm still holding out hope for Rolle. Mainly do to a combination of Age skill and not having to give up a draft pick.
I'd take him on a one-year deal or a two-year deal with an easy way to opt out of the second. We've got a lot of holes to fill, sometimes stopgap players are a neccessity in today's NFL. Cheating aside, the Pats first superbowl team is a prime example.
Dunno about Rolle anymore. Sharper's available (I had forgotten about that) and we can pick up Atogwe for a song and dance if we play our cards right. Rolle is basically the third best safety available right now.
Fins have a chance at Rolle. To me the Giants are not looking to shed big buck, if not Rolle Deal would be done. Fins have offer on the table, I think Giants were just flirting. They back of Dansby cause they new they could not afford him. If he leaves NY we have a good chance. I have heard its 5 year deal 6 mill a year.
Actually, I heard something on NFLN the other day wherein they basically said NO made Sharper a fair offer, that they wanted him back in 2010, but also invited him to "explore" FA to see if someone might essentially make him an offer he couldn't refuse. If that's true, I don't see this FO being the FO that makes that offer. JMHO.
The Saints will match any offer given to Sharper and he'll sign with New Orleans. Widely reported here in New Orleans.
yeah i think sharper probably wants to keep riding that wave in NO and see where it goes. he will retire in nawlins
It would take to much cash to pull him away from a Super Bowl team i bet he likes that wagon right now.
One thing that's not been mentioned that's a bonus about Darren Sharper, he doesn't actually have to break the plane of the end zone with possession of the ball to score touchdowns on his interceptions that come in Dolphins Stadium. That could play in our favor.
The NFL should give the Dolphins like 2 million dollars to help us sign Sharper because of this. It's only fair.
While p90x schedule program is supported by several, including by Republican vice-president nominee Paul Ryan and musician Pink, and is used by tens of thousands of persons world-wide you can still find many authorities that advise us never to leap into P90X or in other related strong workout routines. I have tried yoga, done spin ... basically gone the whole nine yards fitness-wise BUT the bar method stands alone.
Would be a great stop gap while we groom Earl Thomas, Nate Allen, or Murgan Burnett as well as Clemons Either that or get Atogwe
NFL | Two teams have been in contact with Sharper Comment (0) Fri, 05 Mar 2010 19:45:44 -0800 Mike Triplett, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports at least two teams have been in contact with free-agent FS Darren Sharper (Saints), according to a league source. Sharper does not have any visits scheduled yet, but one has requested that Sharper visit. Read more: http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl#ixzz0hND22y8g
I just dont think that it would be in the best intest if the dolphins to sign this guy. I really like him as a player but if you look at the way that this team is going sharper would be heading in the wrong direction. Many have made a good point that he would be a good stop gap but my question is to why pay someone a good amount of money(which we all know he would want to leave NO) when we have a chance to go out and get either Clark which I think would be very good for the nolan style of defense, or Atogwe which is a ball hawking safty.
I cannot post a link cause im on my phone, but PFT is confirming the Fin are after Sharper. They say he has a visit. As for the visit I think it could very well be to the place where he won a SB. Giants were interested in Sharper as a backup plan, I dont see why they would have offer himm visit, just my opinion
We've got some large holes, maybe even potholes, to fill and are certainly more than an FS away from the SB. I view a 34 yo Sharper as being a final piece of that puzzle to make the SB push, just like he was on behalf of NO. If that were the case with the Fins, I'd be all for it. However I don't believe it is, although grant that you just never know. We need to either get Cleamons or an earlier round quality FS draft pick some actual intensive playing experience as we're doing with our 2 young CBs. IMO, that old adage: "Present pain for future gain," applies appropriately here
I'm ok with Sharper, I would perfer Atowge. But Sharper works, serious Sharper playing at 67 years old on a walker is better the GERBIL!
