Goodness fellas get a grip just because some of the people you wanted to see as Dolphins didn't end up there certainly doesn't mean the off season is shot 3/4 of the way through the first day.

Rolle would have been nice, but from everything I see the kid fro St. Louis can be just as good if we target him. Hell let's see if Culver or Clemons can step up they certainly can't be worse than Wilson was last year.

Boldin - good receiver but I wouldn't bet a nickel that he plays every game next year (Same mold of R. Brown)

Marshall - I think you're going to see the same cancer in Seattle that you did in Denver. Give me eleven guys that work well together and I'll beat your team with one cancerous superstar every day of the week.

Dansby isn't off the hook yet so stop crying until he flys out of Miami.

It's a funny thing about some football fans. The first people to buy a hat when the team is winning is the first person to take it off when they lose.

As for the "losses" of Wilson, Porter and Akin are they really losses? Anybody who sites those three leaving as a negative needs to go back and watch film of the monumental defensive collapse that happened to us last season.

For my money a stronger defense is going to solve a lot more problems than a wide receiver in FA

I'm on board. To me dumping those guys signals freeing up money for a guy like Dansby. That two out of the three gone are LBs says to me that we're looking to seriously upgrade that group. It's a good thing, IMO.
That all three are defensive players who contributed to a defensive meltdown towards the end of the season says our FO is trying to build an awesome defense.

Well this is good draft for linebackers. We should end up fine.

    It's not over yet.

I agree. By virtue of who they are getting rid of tells me, like Late Again said above, that they are going to make that position a focus.

And it could mean that Miami feels that they like the potential of some of the WRs that will be available to draft in the later rounds. Or maybe they like their chances at one of the top guys in the draft with a trade down or something. By the way they are targeting LB and FS so hard in FA, could point to what they are targeting come draft day.

    OLB/NT/WR/TE/RB?

Sign Dansby, A. Bryant. Then select D. Bryant(unlikely, knowing Parcells' draft history). or trade down and Pick up D Williams. Please, for the love of all that is holy, dont reach for Tebow.

EArly reports say Dansby just signed. Looking for more confirmation.

Exactly, looking to solve the pieces of the puzzle and the people like Fasano, Brown that they have tenders on may indicate those they are willing to lose to add more pieces via draft.

Nah, by who they target in FA it usually gives a good indication what they are 'not' targeting in the draft. The draft usually covers the needs that you can't fill in FA.

The fact that they are pursuing LB and FS in FA shows that they like what they see in the 'other' positions of need more in the draft than in FA. They apparently like LB and FS in FA better than the draft offers.

So I'd say that NT, OLB, WR, TE, and RB become more likely draft targets than LB and FS. Then, just the fact that if they don't get ROlle they will target Otogwe again they are not targeting Berry nor Thomas.

Can't disagree with you. For me, it's about not having enough draft picks.

That may be why there's rumored interest in a 35-year old Sharper. He can start now while Culver and Clemons get some time to continue to develop. I'm a little more hopeful about Otegowe, though.

Brown, Grove, Smiley...guys I wish could stay healthy all year because when they're on the field, they play really well. Now if I could get the Boldin of 2003, but that's not happening.

We'll see. Now word is Arizona is bringing in Larry Foote for a visit next week. I'd still feel better about this if Washington wasn't interested. Even if Dansby signs, can we clone him for the other three linebacker spots? :)

Sometimes Wilson is brought up as an example of how "horrible" Ireland is in free agency. If I believed that, then why would I want Miami to throw around any free agency money at all?

Never been a big fan of free agency, if the players we're worth the money their respective teams would keep them so you pretty much end up overspending for what you get. All the glitz and glam is nice at first but usually end up much like Joey Porter...

I'd rather be getting the players through the draft and building a team that's going to last opposed to spending big on the one year wonder. Look at the Bears, they had a huge day today! Where do you think they are going to be in a couple years with all that money they just spent?

I think Parcells and company are playing it smart with regards Dansby though, if NY signs Rolle then Dansby is left with us and Washington...where would you rather play? Much rather see Dansby come here at a reasonable salary than to see us spend big just to keep him from visiting *gasp* Washington! and if he does sign with Wash. then he's more about the money than the winning anyway so to hell with 'em!
